Located in the old Kattleman’s Kreek restaurant is the ‘new’ Doggies. I came here shortly after the re-opening last summer or so, excited for a hot dog place in town. … it was the worst hot dog I ever had. I feel awful saying that, because I know this is probably a family-run restaurant(they support some local kids sports teams and is actually not a bad space to congregate after a game), but just… I have to be honest. I think my Chicago hot dog snobbery kicked in. But it wasn’t just that. The hot dog I had was like the really cheap processed version that you can buy and microwave. It didn’t make me sick but it was flavorless and blah. The toppings along with the dog weren’t good either. Flavorless tomatoes, flavorless iceberg lettuce, and so forth. The French fries were the only thing that kept me sane. But for a hot dog joint to have horrible hot dogs? Nope. Just nope. Maybe it was a bad one-time kind of thing but I refuse to go back. Horribly overpriced, as well. Sigh.

This place was so great to start. The burgers were amazing and the onion rings were to die for. But this last visit was awful. The oil had likely not been changed in ages because everything came out overly brown. My burger was a mess, bun was flat and all the toppings were off to the side. We had gotten it to go and literally driven 2 doors down. This is really sad and I hope they bring it around.
