I’ve avoided this place since we moved here because I heard it wasn’t good, and well, there never seems to be any cars in the parking lot. Then it closed for awhile and reopened with new ownership. Still, not that many cars in the parking lot. But one time, someone brought Lee’s to a gathering and I had one of their biscuits — ammmmazing! So, for our last meal of the year(after a quick run to Walmart’s liquor section to pick up some drinks for the night), I suggested Lee’s. Why not? Never tried it before, wouldn’t hurt to try it then. Besides, the line at McDonald’s wrapped around the block and I didn’t feel like waiting forever. And in this town, there aren’t too many other options for quick food. We walked into an empty Lee’s, but the cashiers greeted us with a smile. Both of us ordered the chicken strips meal with a side(I picked potato wedges, he picked mashed potatoes). We got our meal within moments, which, to me, was a good-sized meal! I couldn’t finish it all. And… dum dum dum… it wasn’t bad! MUCH better than KFC across the street, in my opinion. We were pleasantly surprised with what we ate and wondered why more people didn’t come here. Perhaps it’s the reputation. And, well, it DOES seem a bit run down. But not awful. Will we be back? I think it’s safe to say Lee’s will be part of our fast food rotation in Cynthiana.(And no, I don’t have any resolutions to eat well; I’ll eat well when I can, but not sticking to any rules. Life’s short. Eat and be merry!)
