Almost Home Bar and Grill

Looks like they’ve closed. It’s sad. Something about this location lends itself to bars that shut down shortly after opening. I wonder if the strip mall owners simply are charging too much in rent.

Maybe it was an off day for the place, but I really didn’t care for the space, it’s food or drink specials. Little to no craft beer, the food menu was weird and not in a good way. Expensive for what was offered, and the bar stools are uncomfortable. I won’t be going back, no matter how close to home this is :(

Let me tell you once you have the Texas Western burger you will fall in love with it. Their hamburger buns are homemade and they use 8oz of Angus beef that isn’t greasy.
Definitely one of my favorite places to go when I want a great burger. It is big so if you wanna split with someone there is more than enough food with the fries.

Closed down!!! Been a long time coming. Poor ownership. Great name and locations though. Just look at Kilburn’s now…

We got here around 5:45pm, sat down at one of 10 tables. Love the atmosphere, very welcoming and I love the music! Took all but 1 minute for a lady to take our drink order but about 15 minutes to actually get the drinks. we had to flag down a different server to ask where our server was… as we see her come in from outside blowing a stream of smoke from her mouth as she took her last puff of a cigarette. the lady we stopped asked if it was ok if she waited on us, of course we agreed. unfortunately, her service wasn’t much better, she spent most of her time with some friends who were at the bar. there didn’t seem to be any customer service, no sense of urgency, we felt like we were intruding on their time. don’t think we will be coming back.

We came here looking for a late night beer and snack. We are always looking for new neighborhood spots to frequent. The place looked nice on the inside and there was poker going on.
We started off with a couple beers from the very unhappy bartender Chloe. We had to flag her down (sitting at the bar) to place our orders. We told her we wanted to start off with some cheese sticks. I read the reviews that raved about the burgers so I was looking forward to trying one out. When we finally flagged her down again, she very rudely said that the kitchen was closed and they said no more food orders. It was then 9:47. I thought that was a strange time to close the kitchen. She did not once ask if we wanted to place our food order beforehand when we clearly stated we were starting with an app and if the kitchen was open when we walked in. Not only that, just the whole attitude and unfriendliness was a turn off. They need to think about hiring people that are more friendly and attentive if they want people to return. I will not be.

Love the vibe of this place. Sports on tv, great staff and cold beer. What’s not to love? Great neighborhood bar.

since living in townlake i would pass by this local bar many times a week but never noticed it; until i saw a crawfish sunday banner on the street. having to be from louisiana it was a must i stop by and try. i called a buddy of mine to join me for sunday funday to watch some NBA and eat crawfish. i arrived first, as i was walking in all eyes were on me. not sure if because the place was so dead or because i look so young and handsom for being 35. j/​k. sat down order a beer and was welcomed by a very nice bartender. there were like ⁶⁄₇ tvs in the place and i asked if i can watch a NBA game on the one tv in my site. bartender kindly switch the channel to my game. my buddy arrived so we drank couple rounds of beer, ate 10lbs crawfish and tried couple items on menu. at this point the place was empty, only us there and i notice they been playing cajun crawfish new orleans music on repeat. which after awhile got a lil annoying so i decided to put money in the jukebox and play 4 songs in the jukebox selections. not even before the 1^st song ended, the so called manager rushed in and changed the music back to the cajun mixes. i did not wanna to cause a seen so i left it be. how rude. only reason why we’re still here is because i wanted to finish watching the NBA game i came in to watch. couple more rounds of beer are in and i notice someone change the channel on my NBA game!!! i looked around and thier was a couple to my left. i asked the bartender how come someone changed the channel and did not bother to ask if we were watching the NBA game. bartender whispered to me and said they were the owners and they were the ones that changed it. i was furious and said out loud «why did the owners change the channel when we been here over 2hrs watching the NBA game? where is the customer service at»!!!coming from a family if resturant owners i thought that was totally bogus. double wammy rude on management and owners. terrible customer service no wonder place was so empty! i spent over $ 100 in the place and left with total annoyance! we decided to go spend our money at kilburns down the street.

This is a pretty cool place! Although I live in Spring, I met a couple friends out here in Cypress. This is definitely a cozy little spot. The bartender wasn’t the best, but the drinks were good. I was a little disappointed that there is only one dart board and no pool tables, but I do like that you can’t smoke inside.

Ok so this place has a great atmosphere. My hubby and I were looking for quiet place to eat and have a little drink. I noticed straight away that they have a juke box which I love. Crowd was mixed age but not too young.
We both had a burger as it seemed that this was what they were famous for. The bun was delicious. We could have split one as it was very big. I ordered a raspberry cosmo and my drink was very watery. The bar tender was very apologetic and promptly made me another one. Overall a great dining experience.

Best local bar there is, excellent food and service. My wife and I have been here multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Awesome service. Very accommodating to me and cooked the food the way I could eat it (I have a lot of allergies). Delicious and moist grilled chicken. My husband loved the chicken fried chicken and said the green beans were very flavorful. I love the low key atmosphere of the non smoking bar and grill.

Best chicken sandwich I’ve had since moving here. The burgers are incredible too. The bread they use for both is slamming.
Great place for food. Not the most well attended place at noon but I’m going back for the food!

I’m very pleased on my first visit.
Not much of a crowd at noon and I’m not sure why.
I ordered a cheese burger and it is on of the best I’ve had in weeks.

Horrible service, one or two taps were completely down. Not to lack of booze, but lack of functional equipment. The atmosphere was in the border of townie drunks and neighborhood gold seekers. The music was sub par as well. Very much a disappointment. Slight demographic issue as well. Do not recommend at all. I’ll try again in a couple months but I’m sure it will be a different bar by then.

Super excited to see this place so close to my home finally open :) the atmosphere is great and the fact that I could breathe freely the whole time was a plus. I know the smokers were shocked to find new rules, but it’s for the best #ILOVEIT. #COZYPATIO

Almost Home opened where the failed ECKDADDY’S was located. There is no smoking indoors, but allowed on the patio. The staff is friendly and attentive and will make for a great neighborhood bar if they keep it up. Saturday night band was great and played a good mix of rock, jazz, and funk. We will definitely be back. Stop by when you are «almost home».
