Cypress Chateau

Came for a visit after no respond through email. Emailed and called with no luck. Idk how the knot gave this place a high reviews. I start to think the knots review might have been paid reviews. This business probably works when they want to.

I find this company to be terrible. Perhaps they’ve no need to diversify their business, or the need to hear what people have to say when they call.
I recently called to obtain a RFP from Cypress Château on behalf of a local foundation and was told they’d could not help me.
Here’s how the convo went:
ME: Hello, I am calling for a RFP for a social event and fundraiser for a local nonprofit.
THEM: «What’s your budget… we only do weddings… what’s your budget… you’re a nonprofit… we probably can’t help you…»
ME: I see you’re not interested in hearing what I have to say, as you’ve asked me four questions and made a determination without listening to anything I have to say.
In short —
I recommend NO ONE use this company.
They’re rude.
Maybe she thought I was asking for a handout… Not the case… but she just missed out on a hefty event.

The overall presence was very good and was set up very nice, but was definitely not worth the price my wife and I paid. The DJ was horrible, you couldnt understand him one bit due to the fact that the when he spoke and music was played it echoed off the walls so the hall is not designed very well. The Wedding Coordinator Lynn half a$$ed everything, everything was done last minute, she was even late getting to our wedding. It was not organized well at all, hardly anybody knew when we were ready to cut the cake, by the time the bouquet and garter toss ¹⁄₃ of the people had already left because she decided to do it so late in the evening.
Prior to the wedding, Lynn (the coordinator/​owner) would not answer nor return any of our phone calls or emails unless a payment was to be made. Lynn would not let us have items delivered to the Venue we had to have them sent to our house then brought up there which was not convenient for us. The men did not have a room to hang out in, we had to wait in the back where the Gazebo is. The brides room is not in a good place, you have to walk through the womens bathroom to get to it so everyone who needed to use the restroom was disturbing her while she was getting ready, Lynn was drinking with us which we thought was unprofessional, the bugs were bad, they were getting in my wifes wedding dress all night. Overall I was not satisfied with the way our wedding was done, so I would not recommend going/​using Cypress Château and Lynn’s services

I got married at Cypress Château in early March, and I personally had a great experience with them. We had 155 guests and we had plenty of room for everything. Details by category below:
Lynn (the wedding coordinator/​owner) is very well organized and she is always available to meet, and she returns phone calls promptly. The only issue with her is that she does not use email. Also, on the wedding day she was difficult to track down because other than myself, she was the most busy female there. She will set up a schedule with the approximate times on when everything will happen.
Decorations: The reception hall is BEAUTIFUL, especially considering the price. Most wedding venues of the same caliber are much more expensive. I did not have to do any decorating; I bought some tiffany blue boxes wrapped in satin ribbons and gave them to Lynn to put in front of each person’s seat. I also bought some white rose petals and some tiffany blue confetti to be put on the tables. When I arrived it was exactly as I’d hoped. Also, all my photos I had given Lynn earlier in the week were put up in the entrance just as I’d hoped and the customized napkins were at the bar and cake table.
Food: We got the BBQ and it was plentiful and absolutely delicious! The buffet line was not particularly long (this is not something I remembered or heard anyone discuss after), but that could be because we had some people getting the beer/​wine first before food.
Cake: Were gorgeous and delicious HOWEVER, my husband’s grooms cake was supposed to have chocolate covered strawberries with the «aTm» for Texas A&M our alma mater — the strawberries were there but the logo was not. No one noticed this but myself and husband. The cake was also to be chocolate with carmel filling, but the filling was white. I am highly disappointed with Cake Affairs, the choice vendor of Cypress Château. You can get credited for the cakes, and use your own cake people if you wish, something i HIGHLY recommend as Cake Affairs is HORRIBLE!
DJ: He was pretty good– I had on a few read on a few reviews and from a friend who was a guest at the wedding that he will try to sing at the wedding and I made it clear to him NOT to do this. I also provided him with a list of songs and he stuck to that and the requests from the guests. He is a little weird to be honest, but a nice guy. The only thing that bugged me is that he kept thanking the photographers (which they should really have been thanking my parents as they are the ones who paid for my entire wedding). However, because we had so many people on the dance floor (at least 100) they did not want to stop that momentum so we pushed back the speeches and the cake, but that was totally OK because we are big dancers and that was priority to us.
Slip-​ups: Just the groom cake fiasco!
Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better day or a better place. I highly recommend this venue.

This wasn’t quite what I imagined a château being.
7 stars for this being the best wedding I have ever been to.
Minus a few stars for the pastor messing up several times during the ceremony.
Minus a star here and there for the DJ screwing up the timing of songs. And for the wedding coordinator not being very friendly to guests or the wedding party. Minus half a star for the way the buffet line went and the poor people sitting at the last 2 tables having to wait a long long time for vittles.
2 and a half stars total!
