I live near the galleria and was trying to make it to Felands before a night class. Traffic ended up taking close to 3 hours to get there and Larry stayed open nearly 45 minutes late after my frantic calls. He and his crew knew everything about the shot gun which had several issues and they fixed them all, explained everything, and tested it to be sure. Can’t imagine better service just hope the traffic doesn’t take so long next time.

Brought my 20 gauge double barrel in to Larry today for some adjustment, was planning on leaving for repairs to be done but he asked if I was in a hurry he would do it while I waited. Took 45 minutes max to get it right. I’ll bring all my guns that need repairs or adjustment to Larry in the future. Very friendly and easy to deal with! First class operation.

Contacted this gunsmith about a rifle repair. Due to my work schedule I had my wife drop my rifle off. The employees were very condescending and unhelpful. She dropped the rifle with them anyway, figuring it was just a bad day. No word from them for almost a month. I called to inquire about my repair, and I got a lot of attitude. I picked my rifle up the following day unrepaired. I will never use or refer.

Larry did a fitting for my Krieghoff K-80 Pro Sporter 12ga. over and under. Given the value of the gun, I was not going to let«just anyone» perform this work. Larry and his colleagues came highly recommended by several involved in Houston-area sporting clays. The work was done well and on time. My treatment by all was professional. I would recommend Feland’s Gunsmith to anyone who needs a shotgun fitting.

Integrity both personal and business is a big part of getting a customer’s loyalty. In my opinion Felands has demonstrated neither. On 12-07-2012 I called a Mr. Larry Feland and spoke to him at length about taking on a possible repair of an old .22 cal. western style Hi-Standard handgun that had recently stopped firing. Mr. Feland assured me that he would take a look at it and make a determination if some hammer micro-welding or cylinder shimming might be in order as something he might do. He asked me to bring it in and he would have a look at it. So I gathered up the old handgun, hoping to get it repaired in time to give it to my wife as a Christmas gift. I drove 45 minute to Felands and upon arrival, I was turned over to one of the gunsmiths that I had not talked to on the phone. After 10 mins or trying to tell this man that I had spoke directly to Larry– the owner– I still got the same run around about how Felands does NOT work on handguns. Never once did the younger gunsmith ever allow me to talk directly to Larry Feland. Instead, he passed the buck and gave me a phone number of another gunsmith in Pinehurst, and when I called him, imagine my surprise to learn that he does not even work full weekdays and was only open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This was my first and last experience with Felands Gunsmithing. Integrity means doing what you say you are going to do. I never got to speak with Mr. Feland and I am now wondering if he is running his business or if his seemingly lazy employees are? I expected to be treated as a paying customer and with enough respect to allow me to, at the very least, speak to the man I had spoke with over the phone. I could of excepted the fact that my .22 cal. western style handgun was out of their realm of expertise. However I did spend a wasted 45 minute drive all the way out Hwy. 290, at the very least, I would have thought to be treated with some integrity. First impressions are everything. As an avid hunter who is always looking to have things done to my own personal rifles, I can say that I will not ever do business with a business that can’t keep their word. I learned that Feland’s has a total lack of willingness to work on handguns. In hindsight, If this was the case, Mr. Larry Feland should have told me this up front and saved me a 45 min. drive. Mr. Feland do what you say you are going to do as if your business depends on it. Because it does. I will never recommend this business to any of my hunting friends or firearm shooters. Thanks for nothing… Ron Harris
