I love sushi. This is one of my fav place to enjoy sushi and hang out with friends. The place is big so it’s great for happy hour after work. I went here a lot with co workers and friends. They have a lot of dishes/rolls on the menu and plenty of drink options plus the dish sizes are big so you don’t have to worry not have enough food.(And REALLY reasonable price) So far I like everything that I’ve tried .Most of them are the rolls. My favorite one is the fresh sea urchin but it’s seasonal so you may need to call in and check with them prior coming. They have great customer service. The staffs are super nice and friendly. I can’t find a thing that I don’t love about this place. Great food, great customer service and great price. I wish they have another location close to my house.

Updating my review. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years now. The sushi chefs have never been ruder or as unprofessional as they were today. It was a chubby, young man with his ears pierced, and another younger looking man with acne scars. The chubby one was burping and would hand us our plates without saying anything, while he continued on with his loud and obnoxious conversation in Korean with the other chef. This was a bit awkward, looking up from taking a bite with a big plate in your face. The other chef was pretending to lick the food he was making, posing and sticking his tongue out to the other chef. I am pretty disgusted. The female, Caucasian waitress was very attentive and nice, which is awesome since service is normally sub par here.

Came in at 4:30 pm on 03÷14÷16. Chefs were not welcoming at all, craking jokes most of the time, one of them was playing with the food and sticking his tongue out, and the other burping while drinking his coke. After prepping our food the younger chef who is overweight with ear piercings,(didn’t get his name) rudely placed the plate right in front of us as we were eating, waiting for us to grab it. Overall horrible experience thanks to them, food was okay. Definitely not coming back.

Wasn’t that impressed with the food, but the atmosphere and staff are amazing. I got an entrée because I’m not a sushi fan but my boyfriend is. The presentation is great but my stuffed, fried salmon roll wasn’t that good.

Parking is fine and you’ll get seated quickly before happy hour. They make the sushi right in front of you and you can see it all when seated at the bar. The staff is friendly and greet you as you walk in and when you walk out. The sushi, however does not live up to its hype. Still good though. We ordered the classic California, Crunch Dragon, and the Vegas. The California seemed fresh, but not $ 9 something. The Crunch Dragon was good –big pieces with lots of light crunch on top. The Vegas, however, confused me. It was an oversized California but with cooked salmon inside. Now, the mix of cooked salmon was interesting in a good way, but what’s with all the French onion? It’s like they literally opened up a container of Stater Bro’s French onions and dumped 1⁄3 cup of it on my plate. After digging up and uncovering the roll, I ended up shoveling the rest of those annoying French onions to the side. I seriously could’ve done without it. If you don’t go during happy hour, you’re not getting your money’s worth.

Usually love coming here, but tonight wasn’t one of my best experiences. We ordered our food and everything was decent until the end. I ordered a «Sashimi Special» to go and after getting the check, my friend and I realized that it said«Nigiri Special». I alerted our waitress and told her that we ordered the«Sashimi» not the«Nigiri». She looked confused and started opening up our to-go containers that we already packed of our leftovers. We repeatedly told her that we haven’t gotten the order yet, but she continued to open up our boxes and checked inside. After figuring out that we did not receive our order, she went to go change it. We overheard her and the chef talking. The chef said that he already packed it and was finished, but our server seemed to shift the blame and tell him that we had changed what we ordered. When really, it was her that put in the wrong order. When she returned with our fixed check, it seemed as if she couldn’t look at us in the eye, and was upset and annoyed. The sweet owner came to clarify the situation and apologized many times, which we really appreciated. We understand that everyone makes mistakes, but it did not seem as if our server acknowledged her mistake. The food was delicious, but unfortunately, the service was not what we expected. We hope something like this never happens again to anyone else.

You walk in and write your name down on the clipboard. Then your greeted by a friendly gentleman. The atmosphere is great the place is clean. Service can slightly be slow when there busy with happy hour, which I really recommend you try. The garlic spicy edamame is really good, the jalapeño popper are delicious and you can’t beat getting 2pc of either tuna, Salmon, shrimp or snapper. And every time you check in with Unilocal you get a free glass of the house wine. Can’t beat that.

In summary: A Typical Sushi Joint I was excited to come here since all the sushi dishes looked amazing in the photos… but I was generally pretty disappointed. At least I got a huge glass of Cabarnet when I checked in!(Don’t get too excited, it’s just Kirkland brand wine from Costco or something…) Sushi happy hour prices are good, with a couple of premium sushi rolls coming down as $ 8 and 2 pieces of sashimi for $ 3.50. But the selection is not that exciting otherwise. Our waiter was polite, but felt like he could’ve been better in giving us answers when we asked about certain options(ie. kept asking us to clarify after we explained what we wanted).

Delicious!!! Came here during happy hour on Monday with a friend and was pleased with our meal. We ordered the Crunch Dragon roll, Dragon roll, and Tiger roll, all from the happy hour menu(great prices!). Total bill came out to $ 22 for about 22 pieces and was very filling! The rolls were fresh and very tasty. I especially liked the crunch one. Service could’ve been better but I highly recommend!

Me and my friend were just looking for a place to go eat after class and this place immediately sold me with the free glass of wine for a check in LOL Also, turns out it was happy hour at the bar as well so even more of a plus! The rolls were pretty good, prices weren’t bad at all either. Would come back again

Damn, this place is LEGIT! A hidden gem in lovely Cypress. This place is packed on a weekday, which is great first impression since it is our first time here! The ambience is chill, the clientele all look like they’re enjoying they’re delicious sushi/meals, and the following dishes are the BOMB: 1) Jalapeño Poppers 2) SPICY Edamame(this one is a MUST) 3) Two orders of their Ya Ya Roll(Holy Sh*tballs, this one is the Best) 4) Salmon Sashimi(As fresh as can be, so delish) 5) Yellowtail special(2piece sushi item, so good). All of this sushi melted in our mouths, like, for real! Check this out, I even complimented the chef and owner about how delicious the Spicy Edamame garlic sauce was… well, the owner even brought me a small container with that very same garlic sauce to take home and recommended topping fresh veggies with it! Fukn aye, I love this place! I truly love this place. If u decide to check this place out, you might as well be prepared to rate them 5 stars cuz this place deserves it!!! Everything about this place is 5Star quality, if not more!

What a hidden gem in Cypress. Clean, great customer service and fresh sushi. We ordered a lot-12 plus hungry girls. We came here for our girl’s Xmas dinner. We sat in the private room and did our white elephant-that alone can drive any restaurant crazy, but nonetheless, the service was over the top. I have nothing but great things to say. This place is affordable, a great place for a large party and the sushi is delicious!

This place is well decorated. I love the vibes and it’s not too big of a crowd or anything. The manager is also super attentive, most everyone is super friendly. However the service here is super slow. And they kinda lost some of our tickets and forgot about us for a while despite not having a full house. So I’m pretty unimpressed. Also it seems the prices are pretty high. They’re not beyond unreasonable but I can definitely get cheaper better sushi nearby. I didn’t have a horrible time. But I don’t think I would come back :/I really wanted to like this place.

This was our first time visiting«Fish in a Bottle». Service was exceptional. Our server Chau was fantastic, polite, helpful, and courteous. We started with a side of organic greens which were great. We also had spicy garlic edamame. I’m a flavor profile person the flavor on the edamame was fantastic. My girlfriend also had the standard miso which was yummy. My entrée was the the udon soup. Great flavor good texture on the noodle broth right consistency of salt. My girlfriend had the sashimi rolls with a seaweed wrap very good. Overall great food, competitive pricing, and exceptional service. Oh and you can’t beat happy hour everyday of the week.

I love the name of this restaurant and I’ve had this bookmarked forever. I finally got to try them. I liked the modern look of this place. They have a nice sized sushi bar and plenty of tables and booths. The décor is simple and relaxing. We were greeted warmly as we entered and seated at a nice booth. I placed my drink order and asked for water for my son(they don’t have milk, lol). I got the Sashimi Platter(lunch) The menu description was ambiguous at best. What I got was 6 pcs of sashimi and 8 pcs spicy tuna roll. As you can see by the number of pieces served, they should really call it a spicy tuna platter w/a side of sashimi. Lol. But, that’s just me. I got 2 pcs each of Tuna(small cut), Salmon & White Fish. The quality was just okay. Oddly they all tasted the same. The spicy tuna roll was okay, but they weren’t spicy at all(fail). The best part on my meal was the side salad. Fresh green, raspberry vinaigrette w/walnut, sliced cucumbers, a slice of tomato & Asian pear. Yum! I should have stop there. I got my son their Shrimp Tempura Udon. I opted to make it a combo which added 4 spicy tuna roll to the meal. The broth was okay. The shrimp tempura(2 pcs) was very good but small. Service was lacking. *I had to ask twice to get water for my son. *I wasn’t provided a sauce dish for my sashimi. *I asked for a to go box for the soup and he gave me a big styrofoam food container. He must have seen my facial reaction and said maybe smaller?!(Duh) he came back with a smaller FOOD container, not a soup container with a lid. We were in a hurry, so I used it. I should have just left it, since it all spilled in the plastic bag anyways(trashed). Parking was abundant. Price is on the high side. Rating: 2 ½ Stars I love the name of this restaurant, but I’m not a fan. Sorry! 2015 Review #146

Happy hour all night when you sit at the sushi bar. Thomas was amazing! The food was amazing. Spicy salmon cut roll — good! Spicy tuna hand roll — good! Nigiri salmon and tuna — good! Las Vegas roll — good! but I probably wouldn’t get it again. Crispy spicy tuna roll — my favorite! Only thing was 24 $ for 3 spicy tuna hand rolls. Yes, they were soy wrapped but apparently they were on happy hour still so that was the only confusing thing.
