Do not even consider this doctor. I visited his office to see about him as my new family doctor. His staff is super-nice and professional, but my positive opinions changed as soon as the doctor walked into the exam room. Well, not exactly walked in as stood in the doorway staring at me for a while before he came in and sat down without much of a greeting. Dr. Oakman – assuming he is an actual doctor – reviewed my file without giving me much eye contact. He reviewed my medicines – said he didn’t know what some of them were for and then nailed me on a dosage amount I was mistaken on – like he caught me deliberately lying to him. I explained what some of my meds are for and he frowned and looked disappointed in me for some reason. He asked about my family medical history, but showed no sympathy whatsoever when I explained how my parents had died of medical issues. The doctor actually smiled at me like I was a child when I explained my mother’s illness and said I was mistaken as to the cause of her death. Really? Well, her specialist and the doctor who did her autopsy would likely disagree with Dr. Oakman, especially considering that he never even met my mother, much less dealt with her illness. The examination was sterile to say the least and he begrudgingly gave me a prescription for medicine. He proceeded to get up and leave, but not before a pleasant goodbye of «You need to lose weight.». Since he never asked, I have lost 40 lbs in the last year, but apparently that doesn’t matter to this quack. Please review this doctor thoroughly before you consider submitting yourself to a visit where you feel ashamed for having wasted his time with your trivial maladies. You’ll leave his office feeling worse than you did when you came in.
