The downfall of a kid’s society Let me start from the beginning with the definition of Academy a·cad·e·my /kadmē/ 1. a place of study or training in a special field. «a police academy» synonyms: educational institution, school, college, university, institute, seminary, conservatory, conservatoire «she studied at a famous academy» 2. a society or institution of distinguished scholars, artists, or scientists, that aims to promote and maintain standards in its particular field. La petite Academy lacks structure; the«Academy» tells parents that they have all of these highly trained daycare teachers /staff and that that they have a certain amount of hours of specialized training. Well after a month transpires and you notice the lack of training. The management then tells parents that they only have one real teacher and that the other teachers /staff are not that trained. When you question the staff about the«Academy» they cannot validate the issues. My child went there for six months and it was pure unfiltered rubbish from start to finish. When I dropped my child off — I noticed teacher(s) sitting in their car scrolling on their phone. As I went to sign my child in I was told you can’t drop off your child until a teacher is inside. Really? Well I see a teacher, in the La Petite parking lot, in a car, on her phone. One cannot determine if she saw me walk inside because she was on her phone at 6:05 am the«Academy» opens at 6:00 am by the way. The«Academy» claims to have structure by giving your children choices and when the children make choices, choices turn into play time. We were told that our child would receive homework every day and a folder detailing their day, well needless to say none of this happened. Instead my child was in a class with school age children. List of problems: · No cameras– no real record of what is truly going on with your child. ·Integrated teaching; children of different age groups together · More play time than learning time. · Lack of curriculum · Inconsistent with curriculum · Lack of positive«redirection» · Lack of structure; children get to make their own choices · Dishonesty — telling parents that staff are trained later to find out staff are not that trained · High turnover of teachers /staff · Children have the ability to run full speed throughout the daycare. ·Children climbing on chairs and tables ·Children are allowed to drink all day. Child Licensing comes to the day care. Caretaker /child ratio Unresolved issues concerns Issues with other children in the classroom Staff teach credentials Safety issues Atmosphere At the rate the«Academy» is going the forthcoming is not bright. The daycare staff training will continue to diminish, the turnover rate will continue to increase thus creating a low morale, children will no longer be learning and parents will be told that it is their child’s fault. The«Academy» should be compared to a zoo because that is what they base their principals on. According to Merriam Webster, the definition of zoo — a place, situation, or group that is crowded, loud and uncontrolled. I would like to take this time to enlighten parents that if you do decide to send your child to La Petite Academy to not get your hopes up, to be vigilant and to listen to your child.

When it comes to my child I am extremely picky about the environment she is in. I chose to place her in this particular La Petite versus other La Petites that I pass by on the way to this one. A little over 2 years ago, I pulled into the parking lot and had doubts just based on the looks of the establishment at that time and BOY, I could have never been more wrong in that judgemental moment! My daughter was attending a home daycare prior to finding La Petite, where she would cry each and every time I dropped her off. Within the first week of dropping her off at her new daycare(La Petite), she ceased crying during drop off and hurriedly entered into the building with excitement. Now, my daughter is 3 years of age and I have watched her develop cognitively and socially. She has an extraordinary vocabulary at just 3 years of age and I accredit that to the curriculum here. The teachers are extremely passionate about the kids and take the time to work with each child individually. I appreciate the structure that is in place at La Petite as well as how reasonably afforadable it is for a daycare that puts so much time and effort into each child. –A Proud Parent of a La Petite Kid
