Taquerias Arandas

The food is sooo good here and very inexpensive. The refried beans are terrible though, taste straight out of the can. I recomend the burritos, fish tacos, verde enchiladas, nacos, quesadillas (omg i just got hungry typing this i want to go for lunch tomorrow). The green jalopeno sauce is amazing! It is a bit difficult to communicate if you dont speak spanish. Lots of pointing and akward repeating and rephrasing. This isnt the place for a dining experience (celebration or date). Its just good food.

Trust Aranda’s is consistently the same at each location from the original location. Green salsa is the spicey salsa, red the mild. Chips freshly fried.
I was surprised to see the low rating at this place. I gave it 4 stars because its standard fare at a well known Houston establishment. You arent getting tex mex but authentic mexican food from Aranda’s, Jal. MX.
Ordered and received what we expected. Chilaquiles are authentic and delicious. We ordered a parillada for two beef and chicken only. Nothing speaks louder than a visual, so enjoy this picture.

Love every one of their locations I’ve tried. The 5 Taquitos is an awesome bargain. Flavorful, cheap and filling. I prefer lengua and pastor but bet all the choices are good.

Friend and I were sat and no one helped for almost 10 minutes. Incredibly rude staff when we finally ordered food. Woman that took the order kept obnoxiously saying «Huh?» as if she couldn’t understand we just wanted some tacos. Awesome food, but I sincerely feel like they didn’t help us/​were unkind because of our race.

Food is ok. Salty bacon, NO HOMEMADE TORTILLAS, and no flavor food. The reason I give a 3 stars instead of a 2 is bc food arrived on time and not cold. Wasn’t horrible but I do not think I would return again. Wish I could find a good mexican taco place where they have fresh homemade tortillas. Pass and try somewhere else.

I found this place while in the area, craving some tacos.
Thankfully my friend and I arrived several minutes before a big family came in. I ordered as soon as I sat down, before the menu came. $ 1.99 for each taco you order, except shrimp. I usually get the onion & cilantro with a change of meat every now and then.
Complimentary chips & salsa, like at every Mexican restaurant. I love the fact that their chips are freshly made. I have been to a few Taquerias where they serve hard, stale chips. We probably went through 2 baskets of chips with the green salsa. Sadly, our waitress informed us the jalapeños this morning were not spicy as usual. Hence, the green sauce wasn’t as spicy as I was looking for.
Our tacos arrived in a timely manner. Pastor (2.5÷5) tasted better than the fajitas (²⁄₅). The fajita was pretty bland and dry in my opinion. Pastor had some seasoning so that was great. I noticed that they don’t stuff the tacos as much with the ingredients… Less meat than other spots I have been to. In addition, the two moderately dry limes were useless.
Service with taquerias is usually a hit or miss, depending on the time. The service here was great but due to the fact that we had two waitresses for an unknown reason.
In conclusion, Taqueria Arandas is one of the cleaner establishments, but tacos did not win me over.

Well seasoned and flavorful food. Big fan of the chips and green sauce (not a traditional tomatillo salsa). Quesadilla is great!

It was kinda good, not the food i’d kill for. I was kinda pissed cause they did not tell me when my food was ready. Waited 30mins, went up there and a customer was the one that told me my food was ready!

Wierd! Our waitress «padded» the tab by adding a order of guacamole to our check that we did not order. When I showed her the bill and told her we did not order it she refused to take it off???
Honestly one of the strangest experiences I have ever had in a restaurant. I was in a hurry so rather than argue I paid the check and left no tip to cover my losses

This place use to be a truck and I would go there literally everyday. It was so good. But now the food quality has went down. Like they’ve stopped caring. Really cheap prices though. I always leave paying under $ 7 and very full from the torta and taco that I get. I still go to this place but not everyday. Maybe twice a month. But overall I like it. Just wish they would still care about the food they are making for their customers. Pretty waitresses though. That keeps me going back often lol.

This was the worst experience ever. The only reason I gave 1 star was because my tacos were good except with only 1corn tortilla they fell apart. From the time we walked in I knew it was going to be bad. No one greeted us at all, the waitress walked up to our table and just stood there, finally we realized she wanted our drink order. The waiter came over to take our order and must of misunderstood me because instead of rice we were brought fries. No one refilled our drinks and when we asked to have a refill we were met with attitude like we were bothering them. Finally after waiting 20 min after we were done and sitting there I went to the counter and asked for a to go box (for my chicken only) and the check. Our waitress and waiter had walked by numerous times with out acknowledging us at all. This place was horrible. I knew there was a reason I had never been before and now there is a bigger reason to never go back. HORRIBLE service!!!

BUYER BEWARE — We came here to eat and ordered (3) margaritas and requested (1) extra shot of tequila to be put in one of them. We ordered another round of margaritas (3) with NO extra shots. Our server didn’t speak English and we basically had to order in broken Spanish. When the bill came I was charged for (8) SHOT OF PATRON AT $ 8.00 EACH!!! I tried to tell her we didn’t order this and she basically refused to do anything. I asked for a manager and was told «No Esta Aqui». I asked for someone who spoke English and told her we were running out of oxygen in my mother’s tank and I needed to speak with some immediately. I was given no one. I waited around for almost 40 minutes trying to resolve my bill and was completely ignored. My mother who was with me was on Oxygen and ran out, so it became a medical emergency. We hadn’t planned on it taking this long to try and get a bill resolved. I tried several times to get my servers attention and was ignored, so not it being a medical emergency, I now had to leave.
BEST YET!!! — I called the restaurant on Saturday evening and spoke with the Manager Claudia — I was told her by her that I was served the extra shots and drank them so I have to pay for them even though I didn’t order them and had no idea there were extra shots in my drinks!!! THIS IS INSANE!!! She wouldn’t listen to anything I had to say, she took the side of her server and then told me she didn’t speak English all that well either and to call this number on monday!!!
Stay far away!!!’ No consideration to people with disabilities and definitely will rip you off and charge you for things you don’t order!

Used to be a regular, now not so much. The quality on the food has gone waaay down. Im not sure why, but I probably won’t be back.

I love trendy fusion as much as anyone but to me, Arandas defines what tacos are supposed to taste like. They’re greasy, stuffed with meat, cheap and pretty darn close to what you’d find at a taco truck. In other words, they’re perfect.
I’ve been going to various locations for at least ten years, and this is one of the best. The chain is ridiculously inconsistent, even from day to day at the same storefront– but to me, it’s worth it to luck out most times and have some killer tacos on the cheap. It’s a must go-​to when I come back to my hometown, and they still recognize me when I come in.
I’ve always gotten the fajita beef on corn tortillas with lettuce and onions, but lately, I’ve been branching out and satisfying my neverending craving for barbacoa. It’s fantastic, especially drizzled with their wickedly spicy green sauce. There’s more room for error on the tostadas, but on a good day, they’re great. On weekends, there’s pazole (hominy) soup, and the textures all complement each other perfectly, from the crunchy tostadas they give to crunch up to the unami taste of the meaty broth and the crisp cabbage.
(I’ve also heard they have a bomb breakfast menu, but let’s be real with each other, Unilocal; I’m a college student, and I’m not a morning person… my chances of being awake for breakfast are slim to none.)
Make no mistake: this is a hole in the wall (albeit a clean enough one), and your service will reflect it. But the waitresses are more than willing to give your complicated order a shot and will fix any mistakes they make. But really, with food this good, who cares about service?!

I got the shrimp tacos, and they were some of the BEST tacos I’ve ever had! Rice was good, but the refried beans were a little bland and too thin. Service was fine. One customer was very upset about his apparently incorrect order, but he looked grumpy about life overall. I’d definitely go here again… they have a lot on their menu! I was pleasantly surprised!

Big chain that no longer cares… bad everything, food service cleanliness. yet the place has customers. Go figure.

This place is horrible, found plastic (at least I think it’s plastic) in my food. Aside from finding unknown particles in my food the taste was bland. I will never go there again.
