The Barber Pole

First time here. I came on a friend’s recommendation and it was well worth it. They are quick, reasonably priced and they do great work. Good atmosphere and appropriate for children. I will definitely be a regular here.

I’ve been taking my three boys here for haircuts for about 8 years now. They love it. The guys are friendly and prices are reasonable. My kids like the free candy at the end. :)

I’ve been coming to this shop on and off since 2008. I moved back to Cypress in 2015 and decided to stop by for a haircut. From my experience this shop has several great barbers as I have seen plenty of happy customers pleased with their haircut. But my go to barber is the female who sits toward the center/​left named Alex. In my opinion she gives the best fades in the shop. When cutting hair she pays attention to specific details. I always leave with a crisp clean haircut from her and in addition I have received compliments on my haircut from coworkers and people at the gym. No other barber shop I have been can match the quality of the haircut nor the price at the Barber Pole. As I noticed the prices here for a haircut remain fairly low compared to several shops outside around the area. So I understand the type of haircut I receive here would cost me more at most other barber shops.

Quick, efficient, and inexpensive. Staff is friendly, customer oriented, clean, and fantastic with kids. My husband and my toddler have gotten their haircuts here. Expect to wait on the weekends but be patient they get you in before you know it! We drive from south county to cypress just to see them. We love the barber pole & their staff!

I took Asher and Benett here for their first Barber Shop experience. They’re 3 years old and you can only imagine the excitement. The experience couldn’t have been any better. Barber Pole, thank you!
THE PLACE/​/​
It’s a barber shop. A true barber shop. It’s not a hipster themed barber shop where every barber has tattoos and a beard. It’s not decorated with trendy mid-​century furnishings. It’s a barber shop. And it’s what I want my boys to experience. Lots of sports paraphernalia but not overly done. You have TVs on the opposite side of the mirror. But what stands out are the law enforcement badges on the wall. This place has been here awhile and seeing these badges will make you feel this isn’t just any barber shop. It’s a little messy and dusty here and there, but nothing you can’t quickly get over.
THE PEOPLE/​/​
The main dude here is Phong and his station is in the middle. I took my toddlers here and he handled both of them. They sat there quietly and Phong just went to work. He’s got lots of experience with kids of all ages, but I was really impressed how comfortable he was with my boys. Phong is such a friendly dude and very hospitable. I met him only once, but seems like I’ve know him for years.
THE CUTS/​/​
Clean. Clean. Clean. He cut my toddler’s hair so clean, I converted and got a haircut myself. And for sure I’ll be coming back! I was recommended to go here by my friends because they take their kids here and I just want to return the favor. The price is really the kicker. You come for the price, but you’ll return because of the quality of work and the friendliness of the people.

Returned to barber pole since my older son said the barber that butchered my son hair was no longer there. I appreciate Phong graciously giving my son another haircut on the shop. Alex did a great job fixing his hair! I will return again but only with Alex

Alex is my favorite Barber.
She is the only female Barber working here so you will know who Alex is. Working among manly Barbers, she is like a flower spotted in a desert or in the middle of a cliff… ok jokes aside she does really great job with hair cut. Everyone working here is really good, but after Alex started cutting my hair my wife told me to get hair cut from same person from now on.
You get seated with whoever Barber that has a spot open.
So it requires quiet a lot of courage for me to decline other legendary barbers here and specifically ask her to cut my hair, but she is worth the trouble. She can do Best High&Tight cut, giving so much time for tiny details.
Today was my 6^th visit to this Barber Shop.
I’ve been to fancy Japanese hair studio, Korean one, and American one that charges you at least $ 40-​$ 80 for a haircut. But there is something about this place that reminds me of childhood barbershop back in Japan.
Oh and they offer Military Discount. Love businesses where they honor our soldiers.
Highly recommend this place.

I’ve been going to this place since they opened their doors 15 years ago. Best barbers around. Phong & Jack are great, but I’m good with any there to cut my hair. Can’t beat the price!

My regular Barber is out of town, I needed my Flat Top cleaned up. Came in and was greeted by Phong, he told me he does flat tops, so I gave him a try.
I went with «00» on the sides faded up. I asked him to keep it a bit longer in the front.
He came through with flying colors. I know it’s hard to hit a flat top on first try, but Phong delivered.
I’ll be back…

So I went to this place because I saw the reviews and it was close to work. I am a hispanic man who likes a short tight fade and short scissor cut at the top. I was greeted by the man on the first chair and so he began. This by all means was the worse fade I have recieved. I should have known when he said he does not shave fade. The fade was low and the blending was crooked not to mention he left the blending puffy. The dude was nice BUT that was it. I have not gotten a bad fade like this in years. I hope he is new because certainly lacks skills. That air machine he uses does not make up for doing bad hair cuts. Go with the girl she may do a better job. Good luck fellas if you do not believe me.

My boyfriend has been going here for awhile now & it’s about damn time I write a review. They do such an amazing job for only $ 9. They’re friendly, approachable, and good conversationists. They have sports memorabilia covering their walls & their tv always playing a game. The owner cut his hair today & nailed it once again.

Phuong is still holding it down! As long as he is cutting hair, I won’t be needing a new barber.

Took my little brother here today for a haircut. He hates getting his hair cut or trimmed or anything because he likes it long but also because the last barber nicked his ear and apparently tried to hide that fact. We definitely didn’t go there! Phong did his hair last time and good! I didn’t know at the time but I think Thomas (?) cut his hair today — the man closest to the entrance — and he did great! He was also really patient with me and my constant requests to trim a little more here or there or layer his hair! I felt like a bother, which I probably was being a little bit of, but he took it like a sport and was super nice about it and even made sure to pay extra attention to my bro’s hair and being careful of his ears.
So initially I had asked to go for a 2″ and down from there but he was homes and told me kindly that that might be too short especially since my brother looked at me like «WHAT?! THAT IS WAY TOO SHORT» hahaha so we compromised. His hair looks great! For all his griping about getting his hair trimmed, he left pretty happy and relieved that he didn’t look «ugly» which was his worry! I’m thankful his ear wasn’t nicked this time around and for the extra special attention that Thomas gave him today! Thank you (:

I have gone here for my haircuts since moving to Cypress. It’s got everything for a local man cave– ESPN playing, sports figurines, and local fire and police patches on the wall. The guys are very good with their cuts. The price is fair at $ 9, and seniors get a discount.
Come to this joint and support a small ‘Merican business.

Jack the Italian barber hook my son Travis up with a flip in the front… What a differnce, he had it done in 8 minutes. If you are looking for a nice short cut ask for jack.

Second time I got the white guy to cut my hair. Do not get him! Second time I’ve had to go elsewhere to fix the travesty of a haircut he gave me. Can’t even do a simple fade. The other barbers are pretty good though. And the owner is nice and also a really good barber. But he allows this substandard barber to work at his shop. I mean it’s your job to do a good hair cut, that’s why I’m paying you and I tip very well for a great haircut. Being a barber is a profession. As a professional they should do their work with pride. I liked this place because it prides itself on serving the military, police, etc. A low skin fade is a very common haircut. Don’t be lazy. Take the time to do your job right and show some pride in your profession.

Came here early in the morning to get a haircut before work. Got a quick haircut from barber named J. The hair cut was quick and liked the hair cut. Also can’t beat $ 9. Tipped and left.
Overall good experience.
