Staff is very friendly and the store is always clean and neat. The owner is a bourbon collector and keeps most of the good stuff for himself. A major problem is that the staff can’t sell the bourbon that is behind the counter without asking the owner’s permission. Those prices are arbitrary. Bought a bottle of bourbon for $ 40. Went back a week later for the same bottle and they wanted to charge $ 60. I said that I paid $ 40 a week earlier and was told, «Well, today it’s $ 60. Supply and demand.» That’s a terrible way to treat your customers. Some of the bottles behind the counter aren’t even for sale. They are, as I’ve been told, «Part of the owner’s collection.» Then why have it on the shelf where the public can see it? The store’s reputation in the bourbon community is suffering pretty bad because of this type of dealing. I’ve been able to describe my experience and bourbon lovers from all over the Atlanta metro have been able to guess exactly the store I’m talking about. I used to love going in, but now it’s hard for me to want to drop by and I’m only 5 minutes away. I find myself going to shops further away where I know I’m treated better and there are no major markups on good drinks.

The owner & staff were very rude and not helpful whatsoever. Convenient location but will drive the extra miles to Turtle Creek next time.

I love the Cork and Bottle. This was my first bottle shop-in fact, on my 21st birthday I came straight here after work to make my first(legal) alcohol purchase. Overall they have a wide variety of inventory, carrying both the more traditional beers, wines, and liquors, to local and harder to find brands. My family is Canadian and my mother’s side is Danish, so seeing a diversified stock of liquors from both countries is appreciated tremendously(especially Danish vodka, that is hard to come by). I also enjoy the diversity of products in general from other countries, such as Chinese beer or South African Brandy. The staff is awesome. When I was still an alcohol novice I often asked them for advice and suggestions for new types of drinks and experiences-such as what mixes best for a Gin and Tonic or what is a good starting bourbon to drink straight. Some of their suggestions I enjoyed, some not so much, but hey-that is part of the experimentation process. Convenient location, friendly and engaging staff, and healthy inventory make this my bottle shop of choice.
