I am a permanent resident here at sawmill. On 4th August 2015 along with property manager Lisa Spaccio, members of the community and Sawmill Staff Members illegally entered my home and once they had divided up what they each wanted disposed of the entirety of my personal property including medications needed to live, my passport, cash, electronics, my entire wardrobe, furniture, family photos and earlumes… basically my entire life was rifeled through, pilfered and tossed in the trash. Following the burglery I was threatened with a gun and had hot coffee tossed in my face. The campground has done nothing to help recover my property and in fact has once limited my access to public areas and is threatening to do so again. All these facts can be confirmed with the Pasco Sherrifs office or through public records at the county court house. So in short you will have fun some weekends but hold on to your stuff and know that these are the kind of people you will be dealing with.

I had heard good things over the years about the Sawmill. So when a group of friends said they were going and asked me to join I thought great. I made a reservation on their website which lacks any kind of details more then that they have several different types of cabins to rent. The reservation was confirmed within 24 hours or so via email — their system seems to have been created in the early 90s. When I arrived — they had changed the reservation to the day before. A manager was called and while professional mentioned that this kind of things has happened many times in the past. An issue that was echoed by others in the group. I was promised a full refund, drink tickets and a coupon for another stay. None of that really happened and while a credit for the actual room was returned they have refused to issue a credit for the membership –something that I never will need to use again. Calls to the manager Jill(five times) have never been returned so I caution anyone about the level of customer service they will get should their be any issues. It seems that they have lots of issues! Not sure why anyone would go to the trouble of adding a reservation system to their website that they pay for only to have it cost them more money and poor customer satisfaction. Just doesn’t add up. Other then the issues with the reservation(they got me a room at a hotel 10 miles away — not very convenient) the camp site itself is fine. Nothing special. My recommendation — bypass this place — it has seen a better day!

I stay here every weekend and sometimes during the week. Since my first visit in a tent 6 months ago during Halloween, I now have a huge group of awesome new friends who are the nicest and most respectable people I have ever met. I still stay in a tent and like the campground a lot. The employees all know me now and definitely treat me well. This place is a campground. So if you want perfect bathrooms with douches and butlers to wipe your ass for you, then go to the 4 seasons. Your camping, there will be dirt/dust pets, people who smoke outside«better than smoking inside», and people who are drunk and walking around especially on the weekends. That’s the fun part of this place. Also, everybody here is friendly even if they do not know you. They always host parties for the place at their own, provide free food a lot of the time and they also have great events at woodys, like the most recent one, Chicago, a dinner party event musical. Drinks are really inexpensive and are made strong. Other camp goers as well as me walk around and when we see others, we always stop to say hi, good morning, how are you etc. you would like this place even if you are young. Most guys here are older but they are very respectful and friendly, and they don’t try the usual stuff with us youngins. They are just friendly. It’s always a rush during the week to get to sawmill so I can have fun again. They also have a smoke free pool table room with a bar as well that’s connected to the club. They also have a pretty deep wooded area called the trails for those of you looking for a more intimate type of fun.

i will keep my review as close to specifics as possible and leave most of my personal opinions out. large gay campground comprised of permanent residents, cabins, many rv spaces, tent spaces with hook ups and primitive tent spaces. laundry facility(more than 50% of equipment not working) and two bath houses. the bath house closest to the pool is modern, clean and functional. the other is in need of serious repair. speaking only of the men’s side. .. only one shower was fully functional; the other shower head would fall off when turned on and the drain was clogged(this was the case the entire three months we stayed there). both shower stalls were filthy and moldy(yes — even fecal matter on more than one occasion!). there was an attempt to power wash them –ONCE– during our stay. lots of shade for the first 1⁄3 of our stay. we then had to move across from the courtyard with no shade at all. we stayed in a 36′ rv. weekdays were relaxing and quiet. every weekend was packed and loud — at least until 4am. don’t go on the weekend unless you are planning to be up all night. most of the staff was pleasant — others. .. well. .. no so much. you will need to keep your windows closed for all of the dust. most can’t seem to walk from one part of the park to the other — they drive their cars or golf carts. this only exacerbates the dust/dirt problem — most don’t observe the posted speed limit either(including employees). i read that the co-op board recently announced their bid to purchase the park was accepted. .. i’m anxious to see if the deal actually goes through and what improvements will be made. the pool was kept clean however the rules posted regarding drinking/smoking in the pool were never enforced. the grounds were clean, for the most part, many did not observe the poop-scoop signs(so very typical). most weekend visitors will not respect your«personal space». .. expect people walking through your space at all hours of the day/night and not necessarily being quite and respectful about it(also so very typical — sadly). if you are looking for a place to relax and commune with nature(which sawmill was once great for) — seek a campground somewhere else. if you want to party all weekend(they’ve just installed ANOTHER bar) this is the place for you. special thanks to lance who went out of his way to help us!
