Fresh fast amazing food. The staff is very friendly. The place is spotless. No joke its that clean!

What is more perfect then a ride through the corn fields of Iowa to find this slice of traditional small town Americana? Do not let the name fool you not only do they serve scoops of ice cream, but their menu includes a list of tasty subs!
As I sat and are my smoked brisket sub on fresh baked bread and smothered in a delicious in house BBQ sauce a kid sprung into the small shop. Like out of an old Andy Griffith show the boy dug deep into his pockets and pulled out close to 50 cents in pennies and grabbed some zots out of the decent sized candy selection that is available.
Back to the sub it was delicious and fresh. I’ll i could think about was this tag line «why eat fresh when you can eat fresher!» They had a list of other intriguing subs that I will be back and try. I want to try the sweet and spicy it featured a Lebanon bologna never heard of it. They also have lunch specials that I really wished would be available for dinner too!
So why not a 5 star? I was hopping they were cranking out some delicious homemade ice cream or offered at least one flavor. I know kind of nitpicking, but their sub was so good I would think they could rock out in house ice cream. ;)
Another great thing is the location of this place right off the Raccoon River Valley Trail. About 7 miles from Waukee trail head. I started at the 515 brewery in Des Moines which made for a nice long round trip ride. I encourage you to take your family and start from Waukee your kids will love the reward of the ice cream! The place also sits in the middle of the towns Main Street. If you want to have a little fun head over to the Longest yard across the street.
This is a biker friendly place even supply’s a place to easily fill up your water bottle!
This is worth a drive out to Dallas Center or a great bike ride through iowa’s corn fields. See the Americana Norman Rockwell painted and the cornfields Grant Wood beautifully captured!
