I hurt my knee playing paintball(of all things) and was extremely upset that this injury was going to prevent me from doing the things I enjoyed(running, rock climbing, etc). Ahee was recommended to me by a fellow co-worker so I decided to give him a shot. He was straight up with me and said it could take 2 months to get back on the trail(no rehab), but he felt confident that he could get me back to running in 4 weeks. After seeing him a handful of times, he had me running in 3 weeks. I didn’t really believe in these practices, but my opinion has started to change since then.

I took my teenager to Luke Ahee after a sports injury. My child is only 14 so I was very surprised when he used several curse words in the very first visit right in front of my teen. He also discussed other kids that are his patients, by name, that my child knows. He shared nick names for some(ex: Range Rover Girl) and even shared his thoughts on various kids’ work ethics in their respective sport. He summarily discounted my concerns about the injury as a parent and explained how the entire medical profession is wrong about the way to treat such injuries. He wasn’t interested in my questions, really only in putting on a show. His assistant Barbara seemed nice at first but was unable to provide a comprehensive receipt for services and seemed put out and became rude when I asked for one. When I did finally receive a detailed printout I noticed we were being charged, via Blue Cross Blue Shield, for services never rendered. When I inquired, I was left on hold for an extended period then told Ahee would call me back. He never called. When I tried again to get more clarity on the bill, I was told that there was no reasonable explanation for me to need that information. Had they not been so difficult about the statement, I probably wouldn’t have reviewed it so thoroughly. There is no misunderstanding, they’ve been informed about the erroneous billing and have refused to correct it or call it a mistake. They are sticking to their story, requiring me to spend additional time w/insurance reps to fix the issues. I do not recommend this practice and have concerns about the legitimacy of their bookkeeping. UPDATE July 10,2013: Dr Ahee told the ins company that he reimbursed me but months later I still have not received a dime and he is not retuning phone calls.
