I have been living here for a few months and absolutely love it! Pros: Management/Maintenance: Kathy, the new community manager, is completely on top of things and is very friendly with the residents. She definitely makes sure we feel taken care of. Alberto, head of maintenance, is incredibly hardworking and responds to requests fast. The both of them really go out of their way to provide premium-quality service. Building: The Argyle is simply beautiful, that much is given. Also, because of the older design, the rooms are very well insulated. I have saved a lot of money on utilities. Community: The Argyle is the first place I have lived at where I feel a community atmosphere. They have free donuts on Fridays, Christmas tree decorating, and monthly newsletters with recipes and fun facts. Everyone here is friendly and if you love animals like I do, you’ll be happy to know that this is a very pet-friendly place. Location: The community is walking distance to Katy Trails(you can jog about 30 minutes to West End and the Arts District). Oak Lawn itself is a more relaxed, hip side of Dallas and is close to plenty of cool alternative restaurants and cafes. The complex is also very close to West Village and the Magnolia Theater. Good eats that are walking distance: Eatzi’s, Cosmic Café(vegetarian/vegan with yoga classes), Oak Lawn Coffee, Silom Thai, Kin Kin Urban Thai, Green Papaya, Hypnotic Sushi, Starbucks, and Mattito’s Tex-Mex. Cons: None to note! Some mention limited parking but I have yet to experience this problem.

The Argyle seems to be a really cool and enjoyable place to live. While I am not nor have I ever been a resident of the Argyle, I went in today to inquire about one of the units. Although what I was looking for was not available, the manager Kathy and Tom(who is a resident of The Argyle and apartment locator) helped me to figure out what I could do about a place to live short term. If they are putting this much attention and effort into potential residents, I can only imagine what type of exceptional customer service and attention is offered to those who already live there. No, there is no pool/fitness center/high rise amenities, but that’s not what is attractive about the place. Great energy is hard to find. Just a heads up for those who are looking at The Argyle as a cool place to try. I’ve learned that there are tenants who have been there for 10, 20. even 30 years and it’s clear why.
