This was my first time coming here and the food was delicious! We have zero complaints about the food. I would have initially given 4 stars except that they recognized and made up for what initially started out as a problem. They deserve 5 stars. When we first arrived we were promptly seated but didn’t have anyone return to our table for at least 15 – 20 mins. No water was brought and we had to get the attention of the staff to alert them to come over to our table. Other than that, our experience was wonderful! The waiter did realize we were just slightly irritated but his service once he came to our table was very good! They even offered us a discount on our bottle of wine to make up for it. We enjoyed the food so much we even ordered more food to go for the rest of the family to try! We will definitely return here! They do have valet so it’s best to use that option if it is available when you dine.

I Unilocaled this place, was looking for a nice little Italian restaurant and came across this one on Unilocal. The restaurant ambience itself was quaint, intimate, nothing too fancy but still cute & perfect for a date. The menu is pretty selective, no pizza(whomp whomp) and not a classic American menu. They did have a steak on the menu with potatoes :|(that’s what my husband opted for) …The blue cheese Gnocchi was tasty, Caesar salad wasn’t smothered in anchovy sauce(thank god) it was crisp & fresh, the Chicken Parmesan was meaty & lightly breaded, not heavy at all, fettuccini noodles were tossed lightly alfredo sauce which was nice because even with all this food, I wasn’t stuffed mad! Best part of all(for me at least) was the flourless chocoate molten cake. yes it was gluten free but for people with a gluten intolerance this was a win-win. The service was just«ok»…

I was invited here by a friend of mine for an early christmas dinner. The ambience was soo lady in the tramp. Very cute. I had the stuffed lasagna which was a new dish for me and it was completely amazing. Service was very patient and fast, and I would definitely recommend for a small group of friends or a date. While we were there another group of friends were having an ugly sweater dinner party in the private room. Will definitely look into that. So run, go, fast, eat some good food instead of that nasty bar food in uptown.

Showed up around 8pm Tuesday night and there was a 20 minute wait. Took it as a sign it was good and stuck around. I can say it was worth the wait! Had delicious chicken parmesan served with alfredo spaghetti and sautéed snap peas. A bit of of a unique spin on a classic Italian dish but they pulled it of. Waitstaff was very kind and attentive.

This is the perfect spot for a dinner date! The place is really simple and dim lit. The staff here are very cordial and extremely friendly. Protip:(Tuesday has a ‘date menu’) which is $ 60 for an appetizer, two entrees, dessert and a bottle of wine! We did not know this coming in, until a patron had advised us after looking over the menu. Good thing, both my friend and I both wanted an option on the menu, it was a steal. We started with a caprese salad, stuffed mushrooms that basically melted like butter in your mouth along with the garlic bread. My entrée, I went with the Diablo fettucini which was devine; pasta was cooked perfectly and not overly done. Our dessert we had the tiramisus which was heavenly, and wrapped it up with a coffee and shot of 43 to go along.

We have been there twice and both times the food and service was consistently excellent. This is a family, neighborhood style Italian place with character. Tables a little close, décor gives the atmosphere you would expect in a «Little Italy» restaurant. The portions are large and I would say the beef dishes are consistently their best. Wine selection is good and prices reasonable. The service has been top drawer both times. We’ll be back.

I loved Avanti. I’ve been here twice; on a date with my boyfriend and a date night with my best friend. I had the lamb and it was amazing! The setting/atmosphere was intimate and comfortable.

Nice quiet little place for dinner. Two of us came here just before it was about to close. I had the cheese ravioli — was good(not fantastic) and a red wine(apothek). Wines are half off I believe on Mondays? We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms — which was fantastic! Definitely recommend this an appetizer. Overall a nice dinner place and a GREAT location(McKinney Ave — standard pours is right next door).

My Mom cooks for everything, except her birthday. We made reservations to come to Avanti for her birthday this past Sunday. The parking situation is you had better valet, because the lot is super tight. The dining area is nice and intimate they also have a patio and an enclosed patio if you like to dine al fresco. They have a great wine list so we chose a couple of bottles for the table.(Hey there were 5 of us don’t judge) We started with the stuffed mushrooms and the calamari. The mushrooms come 4 to an order so we got two orders. The calamari is more for two to share not 5 but hey we all got a bite. I had the Tagliatelle Bolognese it was delicious. The pasta was fresh and the sauce was to die for. My mom had the lobster and crab ravioli. It was good but a little too fishy for me. But again the pasta was super fresh! We opted for dessert with port(they also have a nice port selection) and left full and happy! This may be our new go to spot for fancy dinners!

I ordered the calamari and the stuffed mushroom as appetizers and fettuccini avanti with the beef medallions ordered medium rare for my main course. The food was delicious! The pasta was perfectly cooked and the beef was fork tender. Everything I had was delicious. The service was also great! Never had an empty glass and the dishes were removed promptly. The atmosphere was set by a live acoustic guitar and dim lighting. I sat on the side patio and the Christmas lights just set it off. A wonderful experience accompanied by complimentary valet. A great date spot or romantic evening.

Food 4 stars Wine selection 4 stars Service 5 stars Atmosphere 5 stars My gf and I came in for dinner on a Sunday night around 7:30pm. The device was outstanding. There is complimentary valet parking. The staff was very attentive and made good suggestions. My f2f is not a big wine drinker so I was looking for sweeter, begginer type of wine. The waiter, Daniel, did recommend the Washington Riesling which was good but the wine list lacks variety. We had ceviche for appetizer and it was ok, not bad but nothing special about it. We then had the lobste/crab ravioli and clam/mussels linguini. Once again the main course was ok. It lacked a little bit of flavor and will probably try something else next time. We had the lava cake for dessert and that was delicious. It had a natural cocoa taste and was not super sweet. The price was very reasonable. There was a guy playing a guitar, dim lighting, and a rose at each table which set the mood for a great date night. the staff was great! Even though Daniel was our main server, the rest of the servers would always refilled our drinks if they thought we needed more drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone for a romantic dinner and will definitely come back.

We went here after our bad experience at Bobs chop house. We were immediately greeted by a friendly host which asked if we had a reservation. We did not. I would recommend always making a reservation but since this was a last minute decision along with it being Monday we were sat right away. The atmosphere was nice, quiet, and it was a bit romantic even. The restaurant was semi busy. We were soon brought water out then our server Daniel came to greet us soon after. He mentioned ½ price bottle of wine and since figured on having a couple I def said yes. They have a great selection too. We had soups as our appetizer. My date had potato soup and I had mushroom soup. The soups came out very hot. My date finished his so it was good. I finished half. The manager was nice because when he walked by he picked up our soups and asked if I liked mine which I did but i was saving room. We thanked him. Our meals came out shortly after. I had the shellfish pasta and it was good. I have never had it but wanted to try it which is why I say it was good. It definitely was a good size of a portion. My date had a ribeye and it delicious.(I tasted it) Tip: if u love sauce then ask for extra. I’m glad they do not make it too saucy and it’s definitely not salty either. Good value and great service. We will definitely be going back. :)

We were looking for a local fine dining restaurant and came across this little gam in the heart of uptown Dallas. From the moment we walked in the door, the service was spectacular, the wine was phenomenal and the food was to die for! Would have to rate this restaurant as one of the very best that I’ve had in a long time and most definitely my favorite in Dallas uptown. It’s a must try!

The service here was great. I loved our waiter. We ordered the tuna tartar. I don’t eat fish but my boyfriend said it was good. I had the beet salad with chicken added to it. It was amazing. A very big salad. You can’t tell my the picture cause all the watercress is buried under the big portion of chicken. The beets and the walnuts were so fresh and very good. I would go back just for the salad!

Had dinner at Avanti for the first time tonight — it was amazing! From the appetizers which included calamari, gnocchi, to all of the salads & the main dishes — chicken parm, clams, sea bass everything was delicious. The staff was very attentive and picked a great rose for the meal! All bottles are half of Sunday and Mondays which is such a plus! Definitely would recommend and will be back. Oh duh! The desert — the crème brûlée & the chocolate peanut butter pie so so good.

Of all of the years dining in Uptown, I finally had a date night at Avanti this past weekend to see what the place was all about. Thankfully, they took reservations, so we were immediately seated upon walking in. The restaurant is medium sized and quaint, with almost half of the space being the patio. The setting is dimly lit and romantic, with a friendly smile from all of the staff, making any experience unforgettable. We started the night off with a bottle of Chianti and garlic bread. Unfortunately, the garlic bread, which they charge $ 2 for, was not fresh. The bread was good, but it could have been great had it been cooked to order. The texture was of a microwaved type bread, instead of being crisp. We when ordered an Arugula Salad, which I thought was a bit too salty. If the salt would have been lessened, the salad would have been simple, but amazing. For my entrée, I ordered the Crab Crusted Sea Bass with a side of Shrimp. The meal itself was wonderful, but it was also deceiving. Nowhere on my fish did I see crab. I think the name of this dish should be Crisped Sea Bass or Crusted Sea Bass, without the word crab in it. If there was actually crab on the bass, I can honestly say that I didn’t see it, nor did I taste it. The risotto that was also on the plate was very good. The two shrimp that we were charged $ 4 for was good, but I think 3 shrimp would have been justifiable. Their special of the night, which was Swordfish, gave me a better appreciation for the fish. I was never a fan of swordfish until tasting Avanti’s. It was less steak-y and more flaky, so I really enjoyed having a taste of it. Overall, I had a good experience here and I’ll definitely come back in the future!

This place is so romantic! Jason brought me here for my birthday dinner and everything was fantastic! They have valet parking at the front door, and we were seated on time for our reservation. The restaurant is small and dimly lit, which I loved. The prices are more than average, but the experience is well worth it. I started off with a perfect pear martini, which was just right. We then shared a greek salad. Oh, and the bread was really good too. For my entrée I had the lobster ravioli. It was delicious! I wanted to finish all of it, but I was too full. The service was top notch. From the warm greeting when we walked in, to our helpful server, I was impressed. Shortly after we arrived, a guitar player came in to add to the ambiance. For dessert, Jason arranged for them to bring a birthday tiramisu, which was delicious. We had to make room. If you are looking for an intimate setting for a special occasion, or a great date spot, be sure to check out Avanti.

Finally made it here! After having lived adjacent to it for 2 years, I make it here once I move away… Oh the irony. Prices were as I expected. The food was definitely above average but nothing out of this world, given the prices. Worth noting, there is a $ 4.00 charge for splitting entrees, which is annoying, but on the plus side, it is announced on the bottom of the menu, which is good transparency on their part. We shared a pasta with beef tenderloin(forget their exact name). The meat was medium rare as requested, but the flavor was honestly underwhelming, not sure why, because it was indeed juicy. The pasta was pretty delicious though, as were the mushrooms and(small amount of) sides it came with. The waitstaff was pretty friendly too. Overall, not a bad place, but you could definitely find better tasting food for the same, if not better, price.
