Very clean, and the staff is awesome. Fries are great. Lemonade is perfect. Burgers are a little dry.

Excellent burger that really tastes like my husband grilled it out back on our grill. Pleasant surprise that the burgers really ARE like back yard burgers! 2 thumbs up! The staff was very friendly. Brought the food to the table and the owner came by and talked with us. We’ll be back for sure.

Clean restaurant, friendly staff and decent food for a fast food joint. I enjoyed a honey mustard chicken sandwich with tasty, seasoned fries.

After eating at the Arlington(TN) location and joining the eClub I was expecting a nice free burger on the trip home to San Diego(CA) Unfortunately, this location did not honor the eClub coupon, so I bought burgers that were no where near as good(too salty) as the ones I had in Arlington. Disappointed.

I hadn’t been to Back Yard Burgers in several months, but I’ve always LOVED their hamburgers and was willing to drive the extra distance. I don’t know what happened since the last time I was there, but the food was not good. The burger had wayyyyy too much salt or seasoning on it, and had the dry edges that meat gets when it’s been sitting for a while(which was a surprise since I was there during Friday lunch hour and it was busy). The waffle fries were extra-greasy(the paper bag my order was in was soaked through with grease). I threw more than half of the food away. Disappointing, and I sure expected more from an almost-$ 7 lunch. I would give this visit zero stars, but since it used to be really good(and hopefully will be again one day) my review gets two stars.

What defines a «back yard taste»? I’ve seen other reviewers tout this quality over and again at Back Yard Burgers, but presumably they mean that«bbq grilled over gas or coals» flavor you get in one’s own back yard griller. Never mind that my own back yard burgers tend to be nearly one inch thick and cooked to a nice medium rare… Back Yard Burgers does a capable job of delivering that grilled taste on their signature 1⁄3 pound burger. While I expected no temperature options here, I was pleased to be biting into what feels like a substantial burger(despite the rather small bun size). Coming from a disastrous Goff’s visit the previous day, I already felt more satisfied with the burger here. Yes, I had the words«flame broiled» echoing in my brain, but I must confess, there’s something better about BYB’s version. The seasoned fries were not tasty as promised; they may have been crispy but they lacked flavor. I’ve had better seasoned fries at Jack in the Box. BYB offers chicken sandwiches and ¼ lb. beef hot dogs, chili, salads and baked spuds too. A burger combo meal ranges from $ 6 – 8 here. The service here goes one step beyond your typical fast food chain – I was pleased with the personal interaction, and the folks here seem to care about the product they sell. Does BYB deliver a better burger than other fast food burger chains? Probably. Is it worth the drive to the only location currently in Dallas? Not really. 3.5 stars.

I can’t believe it’s been over 3 years since I first discovered this place. They’re still tops when it comes to sensational flavor-infused burgers. And you will not, I repeat, will NOT find the level of personalized service at any other fast food franchise. The folks here are like my friends, even though it may be months in between visits. The key people and managers are still the same ones as from 2007! What does that say? Retention of top notch employees is a good sign for any business. Consistency in service, training, food service, etc. all makes for a solid experience. The dining room is upscale for a fast food place and the drive thru is handled accurately. Give them a spin and ask for the Ms. Grazi Burger! it’s an original and still their best. =)

I really wanted this to be a good experience. Back when I lived in KC I would live off Backyard Burger as my go-to fast food burger. I remember them benig really thick, super juicy, very home made. Last night’s burger was just opposite — thin, dry, cooked beyond well done, uneventful. While it is a step up from the typical fast food burger, I’m not sure I’ll go back if I am in the area.

First time here. The burgers had a nice backyard taste surprisingly and the seasoned fries were very tasty. Very filling indeed!

I was hesitant, based on the mediocre reviews from Unilocalers, but was really pleasantly surprised! We had a coupon, so we grabbed a couple o’ burgs and fries and they were great! I had the Back Yard Burger… It was juicy, with fresh veggies, condiments and a nice wheat roll. The fries were large, hot & crispy and left me wanting more. Seems to me more places have trouble getting the fries right, so I was psyched to find these so good. It’s not far from the house, so I’ll definitely give it another try!

I generally hate giving bad reviews based on one visit. I thought at first I had a cook who just left my patty too long on the grill or that I’m whacked out of my mind, but after reading the reviews here, I understand that I probably was correct with my assertion. This has the be the worst place I’ve had burgers. Maybe if I asked for cheese, it would have given the burger more fat or flavor. The burger was dry and devoid of any real flavor. I had to squirt packets of mustard on it. I opted for the waffle fries iirc, and they didn’t save anything there, but at least they weren’t burnt … or undercooked. Overall, I was thoroughly disappointed. I didn’t think you could screw up a burger. Go to Whataburger instead. or anywhere else.

I ordered the blue cheese burger. The cheese came in slice form. So my first question is, how do you get crumbly yummy blue cheese into sliced form? The burger was dry and unexciting. There was nothing terribly wrong with the burger. There was nothing exciting either. The seasoned fries were decent, but not remarkable.

I definitely wouldn’t go back here. My burger was overcooked and dry. The bun was nothing special. The toppings were nothing special. For their signature«Backyard Burger,» it really was mediocre. The seasoned fries are decent, but nothing amazing. If you’re looking for a good burger, you should go to a good burger place. Try Twisted Root. If you’re looking for a fast burger, don’t kid yourself. Whataburger is where it’s at. After all, a fast-food burger shouldn’t pretend to be anything else.

The name is true to the food. Backyard burger! The burgers have a true«cooked on the barbeque grill» taste. I recommend adding the«seasoned fries» to your order, but dont accept them if they aren’t hot and fresh. There have been a few times where I have received«limp» fries, and it is really disappointing. Also, about an hour before closing time, they sometimes run out of the seasoned fries. This is a great place to go for lunch!

Mmmmmm… the taste of starch, sawdust, borax, sodium nitrate, and limestone compressed into cute little briquettes and lit aflame gives such a wonderful flavor to grounded cow parts. They must toast their buns here, because it was soft, but firmly held up to all the weight of the toppings. I tried the bacon cheeseburger, which came with what appeared to be a third of a pound of meat. A chunky slice of purple onion and a healthy cut of tomatoes. The lettuce was flimsy and wilted, probably from the heat of the meat. But not brown at all. The flavor of the meat instantly reminded me why I used to go thru the work of building a fire in any weather. Now a days, I’ve traded in my charcoal grill for the convenience of propane, sans flavor. Although the seasoned fries had the customary orange synthetic coating on them, they actually required additional seasoning to wake up my taste buds. A hamburger, fries and medium drink for(queue drum roll…) $ 6.81 Also the cherry cobbler, was eerily similar to that of Grandys’ cobbler. They must use the same supplier.

I know upscale fast food is a good thing, but Back Yard Burgers isn’t as good as it should have been. I ordered the Black Jack Burger, a chili cheese dog – made from black Angus, and some chili cheese fries. Yes, my stomach is made of steel and my metabolism is that of a mosquito. The hamburger was okay, but not what I expected from the price tag. The meat was a little overcooked. I know char grilled meat tastes a little like that, but this was actually a little too much. It really wasn’t as good as the same thing you’d get at Braums. The chili cheese dog was sans cheese(drive through debacle) and very small. The chili cheese waffle fries were just okay. They need something, kinda on the blah side. I guess with so many great places to get hamburgers and fries, we expect a lot here in Dallas. When I called about the lack of cheese on chili CHEESE dog, the manager offered to give us a free meal whenever we wanted. I told him it wouldn’t be necessary. I won’t go back.

The shakes are what is keeping this from a one star rating. They’re really good. The waffle fries are tough with no seasoning, but the seasoned fries are pretty decent. The burgers are completely blah. There are so many choices in town, I don’t know of any reason to pick this one. Oh, and a side note: Employees DON’T always wash hands. I saw one of the girls go into the bathroom, brush her hair WITHHERFINGERS, put it up, and turn around and leave. *Shudder*
