I was in the mood for some bagels so I stopped by after working out in the area. I was trying to keep it healthy so I ordered the early riser without cheese on a wheat bagel. It was good, but nothing spectacular. A solid 3-stars for an A-OK joint.

There about the best you are going to get bagel wise in Dallas ATM. They aren’t the giant Korean bagels which is good, but doesn’t have quite the crunch of the traditional NYC bagels… With that said they are good and if you need a bagel fix, I’d head here… And I do head here. Good place and glad it’s local.

The problem with this place is that a third of the time I’ve driven there they are closed. Ignoring their posted hours, with a paper sign taped to the door. Then I don’t go for a long time. It’s a business. Change your hours or open as posted on line, in ads, on the door. Chronic problem.

I’ve been on a hunt for New York quality bagels outside of the city for years now, and for a while there I thought that Benny’s might have them here in Texas. While Benny’s Bagels are good, I’ll admit they aren’t up to NYC snuff. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? One thing I love about Benny’s is the hometown vibe, with kids and parents swarming in to the smiles of the friendly Benny’s staff. I came in on a Sunday morning around noon and the place was packed, but everyone kept their cool and my breakfast sandwich came out in no time. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Any breakfast sandwich under $ 5.00 is a bargain, and my sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel was $ 4.60. A bargain. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? So here’s where things fell a bit short. First and foremost, the everything bagel, as you can probably see in the picture, was extremely sesame seed heavy to the point where at times entire bites just tasted like sesame seeds. From there, the egg and sausage were both a bit mediocre, with the sausage tasting as though it was frozen in particular. Finally, the hash brown, which I ordered to put in the sandwich myself, was on the soggy side. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Benny’s is a decent bagel option in Dallas, but it’s not what I would call top tier. No Star Granted.

Great options of bagels. Never even been into bagels. These guys turned me into a believer! Fast service, absolutely delicious options and great fun staff. The price is there and the taste is like nowhere else. We’ll be back.

Nice little place! Stopped in to get coffee one morning(just ehh) and ended up getting a delicious onion bagel with veggie cream cheese and fresh OJ. Pretty well priced, long wait, but ultimately yummy!

Benny’s bagels are delicious, HOWEVER, we won’t be going back. In the past year, we have gone in the morning after they are supposedly«open» FOURTIMES to get bagels to see either a handwritten sign or have someone poke their head out to tell us they are opening an hour late because someone didn’t show up on time. It is completely unpredictable and very frustrating when you plan to buy bagels for a crowd. Each of those four times there were other people driving away after hearing the same news. Seriously bad service.

Neat place, quaint, with an upbeat atmosphere. The bagels are really made well and the coffee is excellent. I had the house blend. Also, fresh squeezed orange juice… I’m a sucker for fresh squeezed oj. Definitely worth a try

Best bagels I’ve ever had. The bagels themselves are incredible, but they also have great cream cheese(which they don’t skimp on) and delicious egg sandwiches. Even better than the bagels is the service. There are two guys I usually see working there, and they are so attentive and cheerful. They remember my order and always make my Benny’s experience the best. I don’t live very close but I drive to Benny’s a few times a week because it’s that good. Also, I’m moving to Austin soon and will drive to Dallas specifically for Benny’s.(I seriously love Benny’s that much!!)

This place is perfect to tame my NY bagel cravings! On my first visit, I tried the Early Riser on an Asiago bagel and was not disappointed. As with any bagel shop, you have no idea what you’re doing the first time you order, so I’m anxious to get back and try out some of the other options(like the 10 or so different cream cheeses)! They also had some good looking lunch options as well.

I LOVEEEEE Benny’s Bagels and can’t believe its taken me this long to be able to try it! The location was very easy to spot, but there was a limited amount of parking spots. That could also be a porblem during the morning rush due to the small space. Anyways, my friend and I decided to come here for a late breakfast around 10am on a Monday before starting our day. The staff members were really nice and offered great recommendations on what to order. Benny’s Bagels has a HUGE variety of menu options for the breakfast and lunch, which made my indecisiveness take over. Trying to be healthy, I decided to go with the«Healthy Riser» on a garlic bagel. YES, you heard me. I said GARLICBAGEL! I could not pass up the opportunity to get the garlic bagel, which turned out to be a very good decision. My healthy riser comes with cheese, turkey, bell peppers, onions, and two eggs. Overall, I thought the healthy riser was okay and probably wouldnt get it again. On a positive note, I will DEFINITELY get the garlic bagel. Also, Benny’s has over 10 different cream cheese flavors which is hidden so look out for a small chalk board with all the names on it! Overall: I had a great experience while dining at Benny’s Bagels and will be coming back to try out the lunch items. I loved the variety of bagel and cream cheese options that they offered and cant wait to return!

Blueberry bagel– fresh, tasty, just not blueberry enough Cream cheese– fresh, tasty, just middle of road quaility Coffee fresh, tasty, I had french roast the cream overpowered the roast Staff accommodating and gave me a refill for free Cost $ 4.10 excellent price point The price point is a result of mid level quality bagel, cream cheese, n coffee being used. I will return because this place is A-OK

I love this little bagel shop. I live very close, so I go fairly often. Service is always great, the ingredients are always fresh, and the food is always delicious. This is an obvious spot to pick up a morning bagel, but they do great sandwiches too — my favorite is the«Pacific Salmon,» which is smoked Pacific Salmon, capers, onions, tomatoes, and cream cheese on a bagel. I always get mine on a jalapeño cheese bagel and request that they go light on the capers. Whatever you get here, you won’t be disappointed. Check it out!

Benny’s has been here forever, and I want to support it, but they have to do better on customer service. Yesterday I went in and asked for an everything bagel with cream cheese and ham. That will be $ 6 and change they said at the register. The board above the register says $ 2.79 for a bagel with cream cheese, so I said, «wait, that is some expensive ham!» They explained that because I am adding ham, they have to charge me the sandwich price. Okay, I said, then I would like to add sprouts and tomato to it. Then they explained that there would be an extra charge for the sprouts… although every picture of a sandwich in the store has sprouts on it! Now here is what gets me. According to their menu, I could have gotten an «Early Riser» which has 2 Eggs, Ham, Bell Pepper, Onion, Cheese for $ 3.99. It appears that I was charged $ 5.95 plus tax for the same sandwich minus two eggs, bell pepper and onion. Even after I questioned it, they tried to explain it away and didn’t consider lowering the price. Bad customer service and a lost customer here. Boo.

I have been here a few times and I really enjoy the food. The bagels are high quality and very delicious. They have a large assortment of bagels, as well. They have a menu that incorporates more of a breakfast sandwich on the bagels, not just bagels and cream cheese. My only reservation about dining in is how loud the TV is. It’s hard to carry on a conversation or hear the employees with the volume being so high.

Excellent bagels, and the staff is super friendly! We ordered veggie riser on Asiago bagel and a garlic bagel(half jalapeño and half veggie cream cheese). All fantastic.

GREAT bagels, for anywhere outside of NY, at least. Dallas is lucky to have them. Good tuna salad — try it on the ciabatta. Weak coffee. Disappointing eggs; they’re made in the microwave. For God’s sake, Benny(if you exist), please make more cinnamon raisin bagels! Half the time I come you’re out.

I just love coming to this Bagel Shop early Sunday mornings to get my bagel fix for the family. The Staff at this establishment are simply outstanding! And their bagels are simply well made, and taste delicious! I’m definitely a BIG fan of this shop! I definitely recommend this Bagel Shop to anyone that may be around the Lakewood area to come and check this shop out. You’ll love their bagels! :)

Oh, Benny’s, how I’ve missed you. I used to live close to the location in Casa Linda(long since closed), and go there at least weekly, for the delicious toothsome bagels available nowhere else in the city. Thanks to the wonders of browsing Unilocal,I stumbled on this Benny’s, close to my present house, and went through a Benny’s door for the first time in over 10 years. It was like visiting an old friend, eating a toasted everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, and sipping on stout french roast coffee in the friendly confines, just heavenly. Benny’s sweet spot is bagels and cream cheese. The further you stray from these items on the menu(while everything else is passable to good), the further away you get from what Benny’s does best.
