Just an awful experience. see emails below: Good Morning Glenn, I deeply apologize for any inconvenience. However, you signed on the contract for 2 movers and 4 hours of working time. We added four china boxes for the kitchen as well as 8 wardrobe boxes. Local moves are not binding quotes, they go by the hour. Also, any additional matterials are to be paid for. The movers arrived early despite it being a holiday. When you spoke with somebody to confirm the time they told you between 10AM-12PM. The movers arrived 30 minutes early. We apologize for any misunderstanding and inconvenience regarding your move. Emilee Mcdaniel Relocation Specialist Best Movers of America (877) 962‑2662EXT1104 Dear Emilee, I just wanted to give you some feedback on our experience Saturday using your company. First, all communication was initiated by me. Not once did anyone call me to follow up or confirm. and for that matter, check in after. I was told that the the team needed some extra time on Saturday due to the Jewish holiday. I myself being Jewish, completely understood and had no issue. They arrived at 9:30. As soon as they arrived it was apparent that this should have been booked as a three man job. They also had no idea that we had contracted you to pack the kitchen. At that point we were told that we either get a third guy on the job or pay for additional hours at $ 100.00 per hour. We agreed on the addition manpower but he never showed up. The men on the job handled our stuff roughly and Nothing but complaints about the heat and the stairs… To move things along, my wife and I ended up boxing up the kitchen ourselves and were constantly reminded of how many and how much the boxes were going to cost us. And of course we were still charged for this After arriving to the house, no care was taken to watch the freshly painted walls and I had to remind them about this more than once. I also had to persuade them to put our bed rails and table legs back together! Are you kidding me… As bad a moving can be, you guys made it worse and on top of all that over $ 1000 dollars in charges for a local move. I would like to hear your response before I post on Unilocal

This is the worst moving company on the planet. Please spare yourself the stress, these people are terrible and I can promise you, you will not be happy. They picked my items up 28 days ago and I still don’t have a delivery date. Every time I call its a different lie and these people do not care so please don’t waste your time because there will only be disappointment that follow, trust me. THISIS A CONNOT A COMPANY.

Worst experience I ever had with a moving company. Rude customer service, completely unreliable and(in my case) 2 weeks late with delivery. DONOTUSETHISCOMPANYEVER.

DONOTUSETHISCOMPANY! They should be called The Worst Movers of America! They took 20 days to move our items and did not tell us their truck broke down. The driver told us and then the manager denied it. The manager wouldn’t even tell us his name. They only sent one man to move the furniture which was ridiculous! Now I know why they only take cash.

Do not hire! read all the bad reviews: Poor costumer service and poor delivery of services. The sales rep Michael, said my stuff would arrive in 4 – 5 days. It took almost two weeks. I got quotes from 5 companies all of them were cheaper, but unfortunately decided to go with them because I needed my stuff to arrive at an specific time. Costumer service, Donna, vey rude stated they did not know when my stuff was going to arrive, that if I needed it earlier I had to give them more money. They never gave me an arrival date. I had made special arrangements to have somebody wait for my stuff on the agreed dates, when I mentioned this to them they said, «oh so you are ready, we are not». Very hard to reach them through the phone and when you finally do, they cant help you. A couple of my items arrived broken and, the tables that they had put apart upon pick up were missing pieces, therefore they could not be put together. their response«the other team put it apart, we don’t know where they put the pieces» They base their business out of lies, do not use them

Our process started out perfectly &BMOA exceed our expectations until the day prior to the arrival of our belongings. I was extremely nervous booking a moving company as I had read hundreds of horror stories through reviews online. That said, I spent hours researching companies & doing my due diligence. My contact at BMOA was wonderful — she was responsive, helpful, & courteous. I came to really trust her, which is why we ended up going with BMOA. The movers came on time the day of the move & were excellent — they worked hard & were so polite. Upon signing the paperwork, they informed me that if a shuttle was needed at time of delivery, there would be a $ 250 charge. I acknowledge this, although I was not worried about this type of issue as the leasing office at our new apartment confirmed that there was space available just outside the apartment for trucks of all sizes to load/unload. We were also extremely pleased to learn that our belongings were arriving just two weeks after they were picked up(this was a cross-country move). However, our first issue arose when we received the phone call from the driver, which came 24 hrs prior to his arrival. He asked about our parking situation & I explained that there was no parking allowed directly outside on the side of the street our apartment was on, but that loading/unloading was allowed per the leasing office. The driver advised that he was not going to do this & we would need to pay for a shuttle, which would be $ 400. I once again called our leasing office & they confirmed/assured me loading & unloading WAS allowed here. The driver again said no, b/c he didn’t feel comfortable with it. I then informed him that there was ample public parking on the opposite side of the street, which is always clear during daytime hours & he said he would not park his truck there since it was large(an 18 wheeler). I once again informed him that this too was allowed(& confirmed once again with the leasing office), as there are very often times construction & moving trucks of all sizes there. He refused once again, saying we needed to pay $ 400 or he wouldn’t deliver our things. Being that he had the upper hand since our belongings were in his possession, I reluctantly hung up & attempted to contact BMOA via phone & email 3 times. I attempted to reach my contact & their customer services lines, but was never able to connect with anyone or receive a response. The next morning just a few hrs before the movers arrived, I called my contact’s extension again & a man answered. I(calmly) explained to him the situation. I also told him that if we were being forced to use a shuttle service, I’d at least hope we could go with the $ 250 quote over the new $ 400 one(that seemed to be arbitrary). Immediately he got extremely defensive. He would not stop interrupting me & then told me «I should be lucky he doesn’t charge me $ 1/cubic foot, b/c that’s what he should do, so I should be being charged $ 680» — at no point in ANY of my conversations had a $ 1/cf charge for a shuttle EVER been mentioned. When I expressed my frustrations(also stating we had been beyond pleased up until this point), he continued to interrupt me & eventually started raising his voice. I placed him on speaker & when my husband heard his tone, he took the phone to defend me. He asked for the man’s name, but the man refused to provide it. When he asked to speak to his manager, he claimed he was the manager. When he asked to speak to the person in charge, he said he was in charge. So apparently the person in charge of this company interrupts & yells at his customers. It was stunning to me. I have never, ever heard someone speak to a customer like that. Then the man hung up on my husband. When the movers arrived in their shuttle I met them outside & showed them the driveway adjacent to our building, which the now smaller truck could fit in. The driver then decided he was no longer«uncomfortable» parking on the side of the street where I had advised him loading/unloading was approved for trucks of all sizes(however his stated issue was that it was a «no parking zone», not that the original truck could not fit there). So I was completely robbed of $ 400. To make matters just a bit worse, a handful of belongings were broken, including our coffee table(split right down the middle & no longer usable), dresser, bookshelf, lamps, & wine glasses. The driver apologized(he seemed sincere), telling me to write it down on the signed portion of the paperwork, take pictures & contact BMOA to submit claims. I visited their website & can find no «formal» process for submitting claims, so I’m certainly not optimistic about ever receiving the agreed upon insurance coverage. Again, it was a great experience up until the very end, & we’re truly disappointed it had to end this way. We have another cross-country move one year from now & we will certainly not be using BMOA, nor recommending them to anyone else.
