Just drove by this place and it reminded me of the time we stopped in craving a burger and were so disappointed! Well guess what… Closed

Meh… expensive burger. Not bad, nothing out of this world great either. In a pinch, it works but it’s nothing I go out of my way to get.

Located right next to Lowe’s and close by to the airport. My husband was seriously craving a cheeseburger while we were in the area and I noticed that Better Burger received good ratings on Unilocal.I got try his double burger with pepper jack cheese and thought it was pretty good. Their patties are flat like those at Smashburger, but the whole burger seemed awfully greasy. Greasy = good most of the time, except this time just seemed more so. Lost a couple stars due to the service. No one approached the counter for a good 3 or 4 minutes upon walking in, yet they didn’t seem busy at all. Also, no one seemed particularly friendly or welcoming, but not rude either.

The menu on the wall was somewhat cluttered making it a bit confusing for a first timer like myself but I eventually ordered the Texas Heat Wave with double patties after finally locating it below the other menu items. The Texas Heat Wave double was a good deal at $ 8.99(includes pepper jack cheese, avocado, and fried onions) but their pricing is a bit wack because a double is $ 8.65 plus $ 0.70 for cheese plus $ 0.99 for guacamole(avocado is not on the menu as an option and neither are friend onions). Also an extra patty is $ 3 extra but the difference between a single patty Texas Heat Wave and a double patty is only $ 2. One could argue that the Texas Heat Wave is a real bargain, but I wouldn’t go that far. Rather, it seems there other menu items are a bit overpriced. That being said, I do think the Texas Heat Wave double provided a decent value proposition. The burger was nicely sized(i was worried it would be undersized but it wasn’t). The patties are thin patties though which means that they can never be on the same level as top nearby burger joints such as Maple & Motor, Rodeo Goat, and Blues Burgers. It’s really not even fair to compare this place to those. It’s more appropriate to compare this place to other fast casual burger joints. If I were to compare this to Burguesa Burger I would say that this place offers more options and has much better buns. However, a well prepared Monumental at Burguesa is more distinctive, tasty, and cheaper than this Texas Heat Wave double. I had normal fries. They were possibly a bit too salty but were well prepared and tasted fine. I think this is a decent option in the area. None of the flavors jumped out at me telling me that I definitely have to come back to this place. That being said, I will probably come back in the future. I’d like to try out other items on the menu such as their hot dogs.

Unilocalers what has happened to this site. I once was able to trust it but no more. Reviews were incorrect. No sides made fresh daily here, as posted in several reviews. This is a 5 guys burger, wannabe. Thus it should not be such greatly regarded, it’s fast food not a burger joint. All food salty and greasy. It’s good if that is what you seek but it’s not awesome as the reviews would suggest. Rant over, I should have know better when it was located in a strip mall. I recommend go one half miles away to blues burger, a «burger joint».

I stop in here for a burger every time I fly into Love Field, before my long drive back to McKinney. They’ve never disappointed. Since switching to a more paleo diet, I get a boneless double patty, with lots of grilled onions, cheese, bacon, and avocado. They serve it up in a nice big salad bowl(not on paper) with lots of lettuce, tomato and pickles. They used to offer mixed greens instead of lettuce, but it’s not a deal breaker for me that they stopped. The meat, cheese, onions, bacon is just great.

Me and my boo stopped in for some turkey burgers. He had the pretzel bun & I had the wheat bun. Overall it was a good burger — not too greasy, tasted fresh(you get an entire sliced pickle on your burger) & we were served fairly quickly. Service isn’t that great on a Monday night but I’m sure it’s better during the day with more people. We didn’t try the fries but may check that out of we come back.

My wife and I ate there today for lunch. We both had hamburgers and fries. The hamburger is generous portion, but the bun, brioche, was delicious. Had grilled onions on mine. Won’t do that again. Have had better burgers in Dallas, mainly Becks, but it was fresh and good.

It is a Better Burger! I enjoyed every bite of the Texas Heat wave on a pretzel bun. I wish I would have halfed it so I could enjoy it again later. Oh yeah you can’t forget about the soft but cooked right sweet potato fries. So delicious! The customer service we great. Overall no complaints

I’m starting to wonder whether or not the Dallas fast contemporary burger market will ever saturate given all the new spots that are popping up left and right. In the meantime, does Better Burger dish up a better burger than the competition? Kind of. While their offerings trump your standard chains, Better Burger didn’t crack the Top 10 Dallas burgers in my opinion: Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? While I’m sure Better Burger runs a good lunch operation, the location is a tad bit off for the standard dinner. This may have explained why I was the only one there on a Monday evening, but the upside was that I got my burger in well under five minutes. The décor is pretty bare bones, but everything was clean and service was friendly. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? There’s certainly value here at Better Burger. My threshold for a fast casual spot has always been right around $ 10, and for $ 7.30 I got a fully custom burger with lots of goodies. To top off the value train here my burger came with a hardy portion of fries. Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Unfortunately, the train here got off at the value station, and my burger and fries didn’t quite stand up to what I’ve grown used to. I’ll point out that the pretzel bun was the soft, fluffy, and flavorful highlight of the burger, but the rest fell a bit short. The patty wasn’t bad nor was it thin, but it lacked any real flavor of its own. From there, the jalapenos were pickled, the undercooked grilled onions overpowering, and the pepperjack cheese and lettuce nothing beyond what you’d find at any fast food joint. The fries could have made a bit of a difference considering how heavily advertised they are, but I was disappointed with their limpness. All in all, a decent burger, but nothing special. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? With as competitive as the burger scene is in Dallas, you need to be at least top ten to warrant repeat visits. Better Burger in my opinion isn’t, so I can’t say I’d highly recommend it with so many good options nearby(I’m looking at you Maple + Motor). No Star Granted.

This was the worst burger I’ve ever had. Greasy and flavorless. Fries were hot but soggy and greasy.

I get lunch here about once every other week. It’s a treat. Pretzel buns are so good and the specialty fries. If you are near the Lowes give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed!

Great turkey burgers with grilled onions. Order the chips with ranch dipping sauce as an option to fries. Also, their breakfast burritos are extremely good. Fresh eggs and well stuffed.

Better Burger should change its name to Terrible Burger! Me and a co-worker came to Better burger for lunch and we were beyond disappointed. We both ordered double Burgers. When then arrived they were both saturated from the fat dripping off of the meat! It was disgusting. We had them remake the burgers. Second time the burgers came out they looked a lot better. Once I bit into mine, it had no flavor and all I could taste was the grease from the meat. I could get a «better burger» at Burger King! This place is terrible and all the people that like this place must be obese!

The Patty Melt was awesome! If I wasn’t in a rush I’d stay and do another. The place is quaint and just right for a burger joint. I wish they had onion rings but the fries weren’t that bad either. I definitely will come back here!

Better Burger has a simple name for a reason. This restaurant focuses on fresh ingredients, good service, and a nice, casual atmosphere in order to build you a better burger. But at the end of the day, in a city with so many great burger restaurants, sometimes you need to be best to make a statement. My Overall Rating — 3 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Better Burger is located in a small strip. It’s casual counter service, with plenty of seating. Nothing really stands out, if anything it’s clean, plain, & forgettable. You won’t find a juke box, patio seating, a full bar, or foosball table. You will find red checkered paper on all your dishes, which is a nice touch though. ½ Star. Service — Great people here. The staff was extremely helpful and explained their concept, the option of buns, fresh fries etc. They were fast, friendly, and you can tell they really care about their burgers. 1 Star. Food — You can choose your type of bun, so I went with the softer bun. I ordered a double with cheddar, bacon, & sweet potato fries. The meat was tender and juicy, but a bit under seasoned for my tastes. I prefer a fresh ground patty from OSK or Maple & Motor, but the meat isn’t skimpy by any means. You’ll get fresh iceberg and tomatoes, and one thing I’ll say is the ingredients are top notch. Sweet potato fries were tasty with very little grease. It was definitely a better burger, but the patty falls short for me. 1 Star. Will I Return? — Probably. At the end of the day you’re guaranteed to get a quality burger and sides. It was good but I think there are better burger(no pun intended) options in DFW. Better? Yes. Best? No. ½ Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.
