Fabulous sushi and great customer service. I will definitely be back. Overall not a bad price for sushi.

My boyfriend and I tried the Black Ship out while we were staying at the Omni. The waitstaff was a little overzealous at first, hardly giving us time to look over the menu, which as first time sushi orderers takes a moment to contemplate. We really wanted to try a few things, so we started with the sampler while we decided on the sushi. We had both had California rolls before, so we ordered those, the Alaskan rolls, Philadelphia rolls, Cajun rolls, and the crabmeat dynamite. All of it was really good from the Calamari and dumplings in the appetizer(boyfriend loved the tuna) to the more traditional sushi rolls and the crab meat dynamite was piled high with crab meat and an almost barbecue sauce that was incredible. We had enough food for at least 4 people with our experimenting, but it was all incredible. We can’t wait to go back on our next trip to the Omni.

Was told our table would be ready in 30 minutes. Well one hour and 10 minutes later they are cleaning the table and we have to go. Didn’t get a chance to try the $ 58 steak. Edit. They have made it right by contacting me in a professional manor. I was tired and hungry and made the review out of haste. Thanks for contacting me and smoothing things over.

Definitely won’t be back… ordered appetizer and my husband ordered a drink. The appetizer showed up before his drink. We ordered steamed shrimp dumplings and got fried meat dumplings. Then the waiter went back and ordered the steamed shrimp dumplings. These showed up and I took a bite. The center was icy — they were still frozen. Sea bass was mediocre at best and swimming in butter. I ordered sushi which was also not outstanding. Both appetizers were taken off the bill. At the end of our meal the manager came by and asked how everything was. I told him it was t great and he mumbled a half apology and ran away. Overall, not a good experience.

Beautifully decorated but the sushi/sashimi bento box I ordered for lunch today($ 17) left something to be desired. It was not fresh, and even the salad was a little wilted. Servers were marginally trained, mostly to try to pressure you to order more. I might try it again in a few months after they’ve had a chance to iron out the kinks, since I work nearby.

Black Ship Little Katana just opened their doors January 2016 by the Omni hotel in Dallas(along with a few other restaurants). The restaurant was spacious compared to their Travis St location. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, great service. The sushi was made in less than 10 minutes(it was not busy)! Everything was delicious, fresh and nicely presented with thick slices of sushi. Ordered the Katana 101 roll, Alaskan roll and Lousiana roll. Loved all of the rolls, the Katana 101 was my favorite. They also give you orange slices as a small dessert which I definitely enjoyed. On my future visits I would like to try the Mama & Papa Roll.

Yeah! Came for grand opening, stayed for seaweed salad and Commodore Perry Cocktail. Fresh food and neat cocktails, perfect date night. Try the democracy cocktail, too!

Good for large groups. Sushi is fresh, but most rolls have too much«orange sauce». Also, they’re always out of uni. Get the mama and papa roll!

Really amazing sushi! So lucky to find this place as its only been open 3 weeks. I don’t like to eat lots of rice and they have lots of really creative alternative rolls with no rice, the mama roll papa roll and angel roll have no rice and Wooooooweee were they good. I didn’t take pictures but they all looked insane and were really good size wise. Definately will be back.

Great new spot in downtown. I had dinner at the bar and had a great time. It started out a bit rough, I went to sit down at the bar and a server started using the bar space as a prep area. When I did sit down it took a few minutes for a bartender to address me… just when I thought I would leave, it slowly turned around. In their defense they were busy, with a large conference group. Service ended up being solid and I like Shane, he has some experience. Food was pretty good… they specialize in Sushi and similar Japanese style, but also offer steaks and chicken. Honestly I’ve had better sushi, but it was good. The dumplings were great! They offer unique cocktails and a good wine list. Fairly large dining room and good set up. Price point is average, maybe a bit higher, but it sits right in front of the Omni hotel, so it’s to be expected. Overall great place and I’ll return.

High recommendations from our party tonight. Black Ship is a great place for sushi and other Asian inspired menu items. The atmosphere was popping and our server Phillip was great in helping us choose drinks and food because we did ask a plethora of questions! We will definitely return and can’t wait for good weather to enjoy the patio and we saw beyond our table. Our only complaint was that we didn’t have enough room for the great sounding desserts.

This is one of the best restaurants in town! The service was perfection and the food beyond perfection. The flavors of the food danced on my taste buds while my tummy was asking for more! I loved the hot stone cooking and the sauces provided gave the meat amazing flavor. I cannot wait to go back and try more items on the menu.
