Blo Blow Dry Bar

Always a great blow out with Eric, the manager at Blo. He’s fabulous, and knows what he’s doing. I leave feeling gorgeous, and the free champagne doesn’t hurt either. I recommend Blo to all my friends who seem committed to other blow out bars in the area! They take last-​minute appointments (usually) and the atmosphere is very chic/​trendy– but not pretentious.

Love. This. Place. Affordable fun. And the website is super easy to book appointments! Staff is so friendly and attentive.

Very sweet and accommodating staff. I purchased a Groupon through them, and I felt that for the price of the groupon and the service you get, it was definitely worth the money!
When you arrive they give you a «look book» of about 10 hair styles to choose from. I chose the bed head, a style that consists of messy waves. It was very pretty and fun looking in the book.
The style did take some time to do due to my hair. I probably should have chose something a tad different, but I really wanted this look! However, the stylist was very patient with me and took his time.
I want to give them three stars because my hair style fell flat within 4 – 5 hours. However, it was extremely humid that day, and my ultra fine hair tends to this anyway. The stylist swore to me that it wouldn’t, so I’m interested to go back and see how it will hold up this time.

I went here super last minute to get a blow out, called about 3 hours before I made my evening appointment and they were able to get me in! Great location, right off of Knox and 75. The staff were all very friendly, offering me a glass of champagne right when I arrived (always a nice touch!). The woman who did my hair was great, I went for a wavy look and it was exactly what I wanted. The whole service cost $ 40, which I think is probably the average price for blowouts around Dallas.

I love this place! They are good about staying in schedule. I also love their hair menu, lots of good options. The location is great and they have parking so it’s easy to get to even though it’s on Knox. Ask for amber, she is awesome. Highly recommend!

I have been here twice now and both times I had to go home and completely redo my hair.
Unless you want to look like Dolly Parton, this place is not for you.

I had an appointment for 7:00am. I drove from 30 minutes away to make it. The stylist was a no call/​no show. I waited until 7:50 before I left. When I called later that morning to see what happened, a woman said the stylist had a death in the family. When I called a couple days later to talk to the manager, he said the stylist told him she was there at 7:15. Two totally conflicting stories. They offered me a free blow out and said they would call me back, but they never did. Back to DryBar for me! Super disappointing, as the location is convenient.

I saw a few negative reviews here but chose to book an appointment anyway. I’m glad I did! The staff were so accommodating for our group. I made reservations for myself and four other family members who were coming in from out of town for a wedding. The day of our appointment, our driver showed up late to bring us to the salon. If that wasn’t bad enough, he took us to the wrong place after we got in the car! I contacted the salon and even with as busy as they were, they still managed to fit all 5 of us in despite being 25 minutes late. We left looking great! Thanks to everyone for helping us out!

Wow, could not ask for a more unsatisfying experience here ._​.” I was looking forward to this appointment all week ( Unilocal check in gives you a complimentary «scalp massage» with your blo-​out, and I *love* people shampooing my hair, yay!), and I left with a bad taste in my mouth (and it wasn’t the hairspray! :P). When I made the appointment specifying it to be with Eric (as a previous review said he was great) on the phone, I was told the experience would be around 45 minutes.
Parking is a little tough if you come on weekends, so come a little early (if you decide to come at all…)! I had troubles finding parking, so I called at 1:14pm (my appointment was 1:15pm) and said I might be a few minutes late since I was finding parking. The person on the phone, guessing it was the manager (the only guy there), Eric, gave me a touch of attitude but I’ll blame that on myself for not coming a little earlier.
When I checked in, I actually had to wait for a while… Not sure why he was so curt with me on the phone then. Oh well, still excited to let loose and for some relaxation! When brought up the Unilocal check-​in offer, he gave me a look and said something along the lines of, «Honey, we’re really busy right now.» A big fat no. I didn’t really know how to respond and stayed silent for a few seconds, and then he said that he could do it, but since scheduling was tight, it wouldn’t be a full experience. When picked out the «fish-​tail» braid, he told me that it was better to *not* shampoo my hair for the braid. I’m ever-​so-​slightly suspicious that it would just take more time to shampoo and blow dry the hair, but meh, *hands up* whatever. Darn (nyuuu that massage!). He started off spraying my hair with product, back-​combed it a bit, then excused himself to turn on the A/​C. And then he walked off to the front desk to take a few calls. Durr… waiting in the chair, I thought, what am I doing here?
Eric asked one of the other staff (CJ) to do the fish-​tail braid, since he said that he «was doing it backwards and couldn’t get it right.» Actually, perfect– I was glad to see CJ walk in and take over. She finished the braid in literally a few minutes and lightly curled my side bangs. Thank you. I was in the chair for 20 minutes total, with more than 5 minutes of that being waiting time when the stylist walked off to do something. not quite the 45 minutes of fun I was expecting. The braid? It was pretty, but I’ll just do it myself next time instead of going through this ordeal.
When I left, I was pretty darn disappointed. Blo promised a fun, relaxing time, but I felt unwelcome, didn’t get the full service, and my stylist ran off into the sunset. Even if a business is busy, cutting corners or being snappy with customers isn’t ideal. I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 star, since I believe they’re relatively new and I don’t ever want to give out a 1 star review (too mean!)… and because I saw a lady walk out after her appointment, and she seemed happy with the flowing mass of curls, so maybe give it a try, and I hope your experience is a much better one than mine! But I’m never coming back, even if someone wants to take me. Nope, nope, and nope. Thank goodness Northpark was near for some stress-​reducing window shopping!

Would not recommend this place for updos. My stylist spent about 45 minute twisting and twirling my hair without forming any sort of design or updo. Eventually the manager Eric stepped in and was great. Only go here if you get him. Otherwise I don’t think there’s much talent.
I also got up to the bathroom before she started. The receptionist ran past me to tell me she had been waiting to go for awhile and that needed to use the bathroom before I did. Excuse me, I’m a customer. I let her but found that very rude and ended up holding it for an hour so I wouldn’t have to make my stylist wait.
All in all, the staff is not polished nor refined like many other dry bars in Dallas. I don’t predict this place will last. Two stars only because of the great, sweet, and understanding manager. He’s their only hope…

I was really nervous about my appointment after reading some of the reviews but since I’d already bought the groupon went anyway. The place is small but it wasn’t an issue. I got there 20 minutes early since I was having lunch next door prior to my scheduled time.
I forgot the name of the woman that did my hair but she was nice and listened as I explained I was flying out to a wedding the next day and didn’t want to bother with my hair. I got the red carpet which is your typical blowout. It took 45 min which made me wonder how it would turn out (I can get a haircut AND blowout in same amount of time). In the end it turned out well. Only issue was my hair had fly aways/​was kind of spongy instead of being completely smooth, probably due to my wavy hair air drying before she could get to it. Annoying but fixable at home.

I came in with a groupon and the experience was awesome. Make sure you check in right away and get the free scalp massage because it’s during the hair wash and I checked in after :(
They do style at the end too but I just wanted simple curls so nothing fancy. Great place and they give you drinks while you get pampered! They’re also not stingy on refills… we were asked a few times if we wanted more drinks!

I was in Dallas for a coupe days last week and I had to find a location for my GF to get her hair done for our friends wedding that night. It was a beautiful Saturday and I n ew everywhere would be busy.
With a quick call we had an appt at Blo Blow Dry and they took her in an hour later!!! Super helpful and considerate of our situation and they were all so kind and awesome from the front desk people all the way to the whole staff doing her hair.
Simple pros:
1) great location right near everything
2) beautiful ambiance and furnishings
3) great customer service
4) they do amazing hair
5) extremely fair prices !!

I am super particular about my hair… There was another blowout bar I used to go to but the past couple times I walked out and had to immediately go home to fix what was a hot mess on my head… So I’ve been looking for a new place and I’m so glad I found this one! I’ve been here twice now and both times I walk out with absolutely gorgeous beautiful hair. Monique is amazing. I don’t know how she managed to do the pillow talk without making my typically frizzy hair angry, but it was soft and shiny and it lasted all night.
