Just left the not too long ago. This is the second time i have come in within 30 minutes of closing and them telling me they have closed and wont sell food when the closing time is marked at 3pm. Also have been charged inconsistant pricing for the 1 item i only ever get. Wont ever go back

Delicious food, but gawd do they suck at wrapping burritos. Hit or miss if you can actually enjoy your burrito or not.

Not bad, not great. Have eaten here 5+ times now as it’s quick and close by the office for lunch. They do give you a lot of meat — more than Chipotle but the overall food is not as good. For the price and quality it’s okay just not a place you will ever«crave».

Eh, this place is a wannabe Chipotle /Freebirds. But definitely not up to par. I ordered the chicken burrito with a spinach tortilla, white rice, black beans, onions, bell peppers, pico, cheese, jalapeños, & cilantro. Got a side of mild tomatillo sauce. The burrito is so bland, no flavors stick out at all. Just tasteless mush in your mouth. The tomatillo sauce was good. Tasted like fire roasted tomatoes. Probably won’t be returning. On the bright side, the staff was friendly.

Your not to shabby Jimmy. The ordering was kinda confusing since this was my first time here. The staff wasn’t to helpful in directing me on how to order but I’m sure once you’ve been here a couple times you get the pattern down . They serve breakfast all day ! They also have two sizes, small and large. You can also get two small burritos for a pretty good deal. They have quesadillas and various sauces with chips as well. Orange juice, coffee, tea and soda are all available beverages. There are two stations with various vegetables. I’m not sure what the first vegetable station is for(I think normal burritos) and the second one was used for the breakfast burrito . Besides the rain buckets collecting around the restaurant(I blame tropical Bill), the place was super clean. The vegetable trays were kept well stocked and looked super fresh. You can tell they sit in very cool temperatures to stay fresh and cool ! They use their hands as scoopers for the vegetables. They wear gloves so it’s 100% sanitary and they were carful to not get one vegetable into another. Just be aware if you have any allergies for cross contamination. If I’m ever around another Burrito Jimmy’s I would defiantly come back :) I recommend everyone to try this place out.

Total failure. Some tables are full. Some still hold upside down chairs. No one at the counter. Watched several people gather their belongings and leave. Still no counter help. Headed down sidewalk to Burger Bueno. Stepped in a puddle. Line was too long. Back to Burrito Jimmy, still no counter help. Surrender. Drove to In n Out.

Stopped here at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Open signs were on, lights on, food containers open on the counters. The front door was locked and no people were inside. Super weird. I picked three stars because Unilocal made me; still haven’t eaten there because this just happened yesterday.

Screw the chipotle down the road I’m coming here for lunch everyday when im in town. Relatively unknow so there will never be a long line. Service is good fast and the food is exelent. Very affordable too a little cheaper than chipotle yet much thicker in the middle and you have the option of somethering it with delicious sauces, queso or guac. Definetly a must if you’re looking for a cheap fast lunch. Oh and they also have breakfast all day.

Burrito Jimmy is a stripped down version of Qdoba or Chipotle. Same concept but fewer options and frills. No beer or margaritas, for instance. BUT they make the food fresh in front of you with a few simple kitchen appliances, and you can have a decent, simple meal for a little money. The breakfast burritos are better than anything you’d get at a fast food place, and you can trust the integrity of the food because you watched the clerk-cook prepare it fresh in front of you.

First, I need to address Molly’s complaint that this place opens at 9AM and only takes card payments instead of cash: You’ve got your places mixed up. Burrito Jimmy opens at 7AM every day and I’ve paid with cash many times. When would it ever make sense for a place to not accept cash? With that out of the way, onto my review! SERVICE: This place is similar to Chipotle. I don’t come here to sit down with my friends or co-workers for my whole lunch hour. I come here to get away from my office with 4 walls and no windows so I can get my lunch quick and cheap. With that said, I don’t care whether or the lady serving me smiles at me or greets me when I walk in the door, so long as she doesn’t spit in my food or make me a burrito that’s significantly smaller than everyone else’s. So far, in my 20+ trips here, no issues there. 4STARS FOOD: All the burritos are the same price regardless of what meat you put in(steak, chicken, pulled pork, etc.) unlike Chipotle which charges you an arm and a leg for steak instead of chicken. Sure, the steak here isn’t anything to hang a medal on, but it isn’t bad for the price. Add guacamole here for $ 0.50 and you’ll still end up spending less than $ 8 for a burrito here. It’s an awesome deal. 4STARS ATMOSPHERE: Again, I don’t come here to stick around cuz of the plain décor. This place is what it is. Some people will eat here, I just prefer to get back to desk so I can listen to music and read my sports news while I eat. 3STARS P. S. The true value of this place is for breakfast. One breakfast burrito is $ 2.50 and plenty filling on its own. That’s cheaper than any breakfast sandwich at Jack in the Box across the highway!

We have tried this place twice for breakfast & have not been impressed. Although they open at 9, the lady working there just sat inside prepping the food while people stood outside the locked door at 9:05am. On both occasions they did not have Queso ready & said it would be a while before it was available. In addition, they could only take cards– no cash. In my opinion, a restaurant should have all food prepared & available to customers as soon as they open for business– which should be the time they are advertised to open. I’m fairly certain that the lady who works here in the mornings hates her job…

As I work from Plano, I don’t get into the Coit &635 area very much, but a recent trip to Medical City took me near Burrito Jimmy so I stopped in for a bite. I am always excited to try a new burrito place, as I am a bit of a burrito junkie. I am sorry to say that I should have kept on driving. Burrito Jimmy serves bland burritos. As others have mentioned, Freebird is a lot better; even national chains Chipotle and Qdoba are a lot better. A Burrito Jimmy burrito is about on par with one from Taco Cabana, but costs more. As this was a «taste test» for me I ordered two different burritos, eating about a third of each. One had the spanish rice, and the other the plain rice. Avoid the former at all costs — it has a very strong taste of chicken bullion that overpowers everything else in the burrito(I guess on the plus side, it was the one thing I ate that wasn’t bland. but not exactly in a good way).

Im not going to go into the similarities this place has to another establishment. It’s quite obvious when you step in. However, its totally different in the food and service. In a good way. I have tried the rice bowl, egg quesadillas for breakfast, and tacos. Every time I have come in it was a smooth transaction. Food was fresh, hot and delicious. Service is fast and to the point. Good stop for breakfast, lunch, or dont– wanna-cook nights. Stop by!

Wow, lots of comparisons to Freebird and Chipotle. This place does have a name of its own though. Awesome choices and great burritos. No skimping on fillings and very tasty. Was surprised to see zucchini and squash also offered. The guacamole was just about as home made as can be. Plenty of extras to put on, in, or pour on. you can order wrapped, smothered, or on nachos. This is probably the best burrito I’ve had in a while.

Actually a different flavor profile from Chipotle. They add grilled jalapeño, squash and zucchini on request. And lime wedges too. Fresh, citrusy and spicy. Will definitely be back.

The first time I went I was not a big fan, then a friend talked me into giving them another try, telling me I had to try a «smothered burrito». Although that did improve things a lot for me, this place is still not a Chipotle or a Qdoba. Not bad, but not great either.

This place should be called Nacho Jimmy. That way if you have a boyfriend named Jimmy you can make really lame jokes about how he’s ‘nacho Jimmy, he’s my Jimmy.’ Get it?! No, really, the burritos here are okay but this place gets 4 stars for the nachos alone. If you want a burrito go to Freebirds, if you want nachos, go to Burrito Jimmy. They just pile whatever you want on the tortilla chips, and ta-da, beautiful, tasty nachos. The burritos and quesadillas are forgettable.

We finally tried this place. We were originally worried because the façade was very generic and nothing about the place said«come on in». Once inside the staff was very helpful and it ended up being a place all 4 want to come back to. Like FREEBIRDS there is a good choice of tortilla wraps. Good choices of meats. I had the streak which was seasoned well and tender. they had the usual rice, black beans, onions and peppers and then it got fun. They also offer pinto beans, squash and zucchini. Once cheese was added(chedder or monterey jack) they heated it again to melt the cheese! To finish it off they offer guacamole, pico, chopped jalapenos, scallions lettuce, cilantro and then several sauces to smother it in. To drink, ice tea limeade. Don’t let the bland outside deter you. This was the first visit and all 4 agreed that we will come back.

I was headed someplace else for lunch when I stumbled upon this new Burrito Jimmy location. In the great burrito battle between this place, Chipotle and Freebird’s, Burrito Jimmy comes in third. Overall, it was just okay and decent enough for three stars. They advertise on their wall in giant letters as being the«home of the smothered burrito». Because of that, I went for a queso-smothered burrito filled with brisket. The flavor of the ingredients was good. The meat seemed tender. On the downside, the queso used to smother my burrito was cold. Fortunately, the heat from the meat and other fillings balanced that out. It still sucks to have cold queso though. This location hasn’t been around very long, so hopefully the kinks will get worked out and they’ll find a way to keep that queso warm. They also serve breakfast for those of you in the area in the morning.
