OH, HOWTHEMIGHTYHAVEFALLEN… You know, this place used to be my favorite nail shop. Is it hood? Yep, but the customer service was awesome and they were fast and precise. Note how I used past tense in all but the«hood» part. Now, when it comes to hood places, I actually like them. You usually get no-BS customer service, the patrons are always a hoot, and you end up knowing regulars and create this community feel. Seriously, you don’t even have to know a soul, but you leave there feeling great because you’ve been pampered and you also spent the last hour laughing until you cried. Thankfully, this part is still the same, but the service and the speed is non-existent. I went to the shop on a Monday to get a full set. I was happy to see that the sale is a full set for $ 15. That is awesome! I brought my own nail polish(Elegantly Wasted by Trust Fund) that I just received in my ipsy pack and was like, lets do this. I was seriously stoked about trying this polish. So, I go in and I swear it was already a line of disgruntled looking women. That should have been my caution flag. I mean, this place was really, really busy for a Monday, but hey, this place is pretty popular so whatever. Thing is, it is used to be that as soon as you walked in, SOMEONE greeted you. Nary a word was said. I’m like, oooookkkkkaaaaayyyyyy. Thankfully one of the ladies showed me where I was supposed to sign in. That should have been warning sign #1. Warning sign #2 should have been when I heard that Lucy was on vacation for two weeks. Like, that should have been a «Danger Will Robinson!» level warning, but nothing clicked. So, I’m sitting there chatting with the ladies, and mind you that I was super patient. Well, all of our patience started running out once our wait was moving to 30 minutes and 1 hour, and they were taking walk-ins who just walked up to the table in front of all of us who made the mistake of signing in and waiting like civilized idiots. Egg on our face. It go so ridiculous that all of us started a mini-revolt. At this point I knew if I wanted my nails done that I needed to go somewhere else. So, off to the suburbs I went. I went back to BL Nails in Cedar Hill and met a great technician that I plan to use again named Lee. So, bye bye CA Nails. I would say that it’s not you, but me, but it is TOTALLY you.

I’ve been here twice and admittedly they do a good job, but I wouldn’t recommend unless you’re interested in pain. Pros: Your nails will be cute – no denying that. I’ve been here twice & was very pleased with my nails. The techs make sure they are shaped right, smooth and look very natural. Cheap Cons: Was not greeted when I walked in – I understand that this shop is located in a minority area, but that is no excuse to offer up below par customer service. It won’t kill them to at the very least acknowledge customers when they come in. I was a walk-in on a Wednesday evening & the place was packed. I sat there about 15 minutes, so the wait wasn’t terribly bad, I just felt they were rude. Why I won’t return: The lady who did my set on my second visit brutalized me! My fingers have SO many cuts & they are still sore AFTER I GOTTHEMDONEYESTERDAY! I just hope and pray that there is no infection and my hands won’t have to be chopped off. I understand that accidents happen and I’m no punk, but if I’m literally saying«OUCH!» and moving my hands away the tech needs to take some cues that maybe you’re hurting your customer. The lady didn’t speak English & when I told her I was cut she simply put some type of solution on my fingers and nervously laughed it off – no homegirl, that is NOT ok. Won’t be back because I’m not a fan of pain, but if you’re more tolerant than I am have at it.
