Just came back from a great dinner! Food was fresh and the restaurant was clean. Waitstaff and owner were very friendly. Adults had #12 and #60, while the kids had #49,#N2 and #8. We all left happy and will absolutely go back.

I have had phở from many places, from California to Texas… and, this place is AWESOME! Easily one of the best! Great phở. Great service.

Very very good place to come eat Phở and other Viet and Chinese cuisine. The Bun Bo Hue was awesome. Found my new Phở spot.

First visit was great — did takeout. Second visit was down a notch — takeout again. Third visit was not pleasant. Dined in the restaurant. Waitress was a kid more interested in the delivery guy than people in the restaurant. Prodded into bringing a menu over by an older woman. Food was okay. Turned off completely on dining in experience. Comments to other patrons about the service and food indicates that the restaurant has slid. It is still a new restaurant. Menu may be too ambitious for the abilities of the staff. We’ll just wait awhile before going back.

Probably will not return. I decided to try this place out since its relatively close to my house. I ordered a lunch Togo because it seemed like a pretty good deal but unfortunately for Togo they don’t give you the soup… The lady told me they only do that for people that dine in… Anyhow that didn’t stop me from ordering. I got the Thai coconut curry and orange chicken. The curry didn’t look like curry at all. It was dry which is weird for curry. I even called to make sure this was my order and the worker that picked up kindly explained to me it’s not the typical curry and said that there’s a white sauce on it and sincerely apologized for the misunderstanding. The orange chicken was way to sweet and burnt. I ate 3 pieces and decided it wasn’t something I could continue eating. The eggroll that came with the lunch was probably my favorite part minus the extra oil in every bite. It seemed like the fryer wasn’t heated up for long enough so the eggroll just sat in the oil till it fried. I’m giving 2 stars for the food and another star for the sweet customer service other than that it would be just 2.

Stop by «Café China and Phở» for lunch today with my dad. Generic/deceptive name, but surprisingly good Vietnamese food. Being Vietnamese myself, I’m a little sceptical of Chinese restaurants making Viet food. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and it was excellent !! I would have to say it’s on par, if not better than some of the popular Bun Bo Hue places in Garland. The wait staff were super friendly and prompt. Even the owner came out of the kitchen to check on each of the patrons. Which is a plus from a customer service perspective. Turns out the owner/cook is originally from Vietnam so her cooking is legit. Only negative thing I have to say is that they forgot to put a ham hock in my Bun Bo Hue. The owner said she would give me two the next time I come back. I’m gonna hold her to it. :-)

In a nut shell: We will be back for more, friendly service and delicious food. We recently moved to the neighborhood and I’m in love with Phở so I wanted to LOVE this place because it’s super close to the house. All dishes that are served with rice can have Lomein substituted for $ 1.50. We ordered and took it to go as ½ of our party was still home. We ordered… #7 Phở Ga Rice Noodle w/Chicken: Pros: The broth was good and the ingredients were fresh. Cons: If you get it to go, the Hoisin and Siriacha are put together in one container and if you don’t like spicy you don’t get hoisin.(Easily fixed by asking for separate containers or asking for no Siracha.) #51 Mi Quang Da Nang: Delicious fresh ingredients and you can select the level of heat which is always nice. #R1 Sesame Chicken(for the 6YO) Delicious and devoured in two separate sittings so she was a happy camper.

My family and I eat here almost every week and I never get tired of the food choices and family friendly atmosphere ! I haven’t tasted any thing I didn’t like and my loan’s homemade authentic Vietnamese recipes reminds me of home(Da Lat Vietnam) I’m so glad there’s a good Vietnamese restaurant in Carrollton that serves consistent good Viet food without having to drive to Arlington or Garland. My 4yr old son loves getting phở from here!

Considering prices were a tad steeper in comparison with other phở restaurants, I expected the bowls/dishes to be either larger in portion or just I don’t know, amazing? Unfortunately, they were neither. I ordered the phở(which was bland), and the«highly praised» com bo luc lac which was the worst I’ve ever had. It was so salty and saucy, I gave up on looking for the poor suckers drowning in the sauce. On a brighter note, the servers were friendly.

Coming from Chicago this is the first time in 5 years I got decent Chinese food. I ordered chicken fried rice, egg drop soup and thai coconut curry. My only complaint is that the thai coconut curry didn’t taste anything like the name of the dish. It was more like pieces of white chicken green peppers and onions in a brown sauce. No hint of coconut but it still tasted good. Will be going back for the phở and other items.

This place is owned by a lovely family business, and my boyfriend and i took our chances with the chinese menu. I ordered from the lunch special orange chicken and my boyfriend ordered the regular pad thai. To be honest it was ok, i thought it would be like the authentic tasting tangy orange chicken not like panda express. To my dissapointmemt it wasnt, i really do not know how to describe it, maybe orange chicken with out the orange? The porportions were surprisingly small, not like others where they serve big. I think their Vietnamese food is better than their Chinese because i ordered a bun bo hue(my favorite) and it was good.

Came here for lunch one day as I just moved to the area and needed something quick. The interior was modern and updated. My fiancé ordered the garlic chicken(from the Chinese food menu) and I the chicken phở. It was all right. The two entrees and a bubble tea were less than $ 20 for lunch time. The food tasted all right. It just wasn’t really anything special. My chicken phở didn’t have too much chicken and the broth has a relatively strong flavor. The garlic chicken tasted just as expected. Unfortunately, my milk tea bubble tea tastes more like milk than tea. I would come back here if I were with a group that couldn’t decide on Chinese or Vietnamese food. Haha.

I’m going to classify the place as just okay. My Wife and I were feeling different about dinner. As she was getting what she wanted I hopped over to check this place out. Look I won’t sugar coat it. If you can’t make the most basic of dishes taste good then I don’t have much faith in your abilities. I called my order in after reading Unilocal reviews. I got seasame chicken, steamed rice and Rangoon. When I got there my food was ready. I asked the owner for extra sweet and sour sauce and she obliged. She offered me a to go menu but I declined. Thinking back that may have been a preemptive sign. I got my food and we headed back to our temporary living quarters. I was glad it was still hot enough to eat. The rangoon wad mehhhh but I ate what I could. I got into the“seasame chicken” and my tastebuds cried. I’m no Asian cuisine expert but I love«authentic» food and usually deal with mom and pop shops. No expert but I have tasted much better Asian food. I really don’t have much to say except the flavor was off. It was a syrupy goop and I wasn’t feeling it. I have no idea what happened to the seasame seed either. Also the sweet and sour sauce was more sour than anything. Call it donation and one I won’t sweat because it’s done. No for me but try at your own risk.

We have now eaten here 3 times. The food is excellent and the taste and quality outstanding. You can tell they that the food is fresh and that they are taking the time to make the food special. I am impressed with the décor and the service. They should be commended for going extra mile to make it a wonderful dining experience. Congratulations on the new Restaurant!

After a friend of mine suggested the restaurant to me a while ago, I finally decided to try Café China and Phở for lunch. The restaurant is tucked away in a shady looking shopping plaza, but don’t be fooled. The interior is cozy and the staff are very welcoming. I ordered their Mi Quang(~$ 10) and was surprised at how large the order was. At first glance, the bowl looked amazing and I was excited to take my first bite. However, I did noticed that the the noodles were cut into little pieces and the amount of broth that was given wasn’t going to be enough for the amount of ingredients in the bowl. Mi Quang is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes, but my family rarely makes it, so it’s a real treat when I get to have it. The Mi Quang at Café China and Phở has a lot of potential but it misses some key flavor notes. For the amount of noodles and vegetables in the bowl, there needs to be more of the broth & the broth needs to be seasoned more(a touch more fish sauce and I think it would have been golden) so that you can actually taste it among the other ingredients. I would really suggest cutting down on the amount of noodles, because there’s way too much and it mellows out the broth to a point where you can’t even taste it. On another note, I really appreciated the amount of bean sprouts and banana flower that they added in. Vietnamese food isn’t right unless you have a lot of vegetables and herbs, so the addition made it feel more authentic. Throughout my lunch, the staff kept asking me if the food was good, but I didn’t want to make any comments. Mi Quang is considered one of their specialties on the menu, but it lacked a lot of flavor. Mi Quang is also pictured in their delivery menu, and the noodles are submerged in broth(which isn’t how it’s supposed to be). Overall, it was an okay dining experience, and I would like to return sometime to try out some of the other dishes they have to offer.

Once in a(lately, long) while, you come across food that taste like passion; the chef’s passion for good food. This is one of them. Completely unassuming place, mom & pop joint. What a delightful lunch it was. Service was fantastic, friendly staff, warm greeting when you walk in. The owner and staff were eating their own food! You know that’s a good sign! The tables and chairs, silverware and menu and napkins were perfectly straight and orderly. I really appreciate that, including how the sauces were nicely labelled. The double napkin per person arranged was thoughtful, as were the menus on the table. Everything was immaculately clean. I love it, don’t change a thing! I ordered the Kung pao shrimp. It was delicious, and packed with flavor. I was done eating my rice with extra shrimp on my plate! That’s how generous they were, and no cheap fillers either like big chunks of onions, celery or bell peppers. I appreciate it and will come here often. Oh and they deliver! I’m a happy woman.

Catering to the Masses Typical suburban Asian restaurant appeals to the general crowd by offering everything east of Saudi Arabia. Want Vietnamese? Check. Want Chinese? Check. Want wings? Check. Phở? Check. Banh mi? Check. Definitely identity crisis going on, unsure of what the restaurant wants to be. The sheer amount of food on the menu the food by default can’t be consistent and good. Quality over quantity. It’s equivalent to naming it Café Canada and Tacos, then offering everything Canadian and a portion of the menu with Mexican food. Just because they’re on the same continent doesn’t mean you should put them on the same menu. Bo Luc Lac Love A must get is the Bo Luc Lac(Shaken filet mignon) and make it spicy. One of the first times I’ve seen this dish made spicy, and mother of god, I love it. The filet mignon is so tender and cooked perfectly served up with a bed of rice and green onions. Café Sua Da — Good Phở — Too salty(MSG) Wings — Never came out Bo Luc Lac — Pretty good(Get Spicy) Mi Quang — Not enough sauce Bun Bo Hue — Decent Owner — Very nice lady but comes on too strong, takes orders herself but talks so much she forgot two of our orders

I don’t live far from here and I’m always driving to garland for good Vietnamese food, which is far! This place is close and clean. The restaurant is in a small plaza and is a little small but it is mom and pop and quaint. I got the hu tieu and it was very fragrant and light. Which was very good and defiantly worth it. The bo luc lac is also really good but a tad spicy but really delicious. I’m sure all the Viet food here is good and I can’t wait to try it again. The girls working here were very sweet and hardworking, the owner was awesome and recommended some dishes. Give this place a try it’s legit Vietnamese food
