Pizza dough gooey and thin. Black char on the bottom of pizza crust. Salad was good and delivered quickly. My complaint is our server who tried to rush us out the door towards end of night when restaurant was half full. Food in both our mouth, two slices left, «are you done?». Asked us four times if we were done, and we had to keep sending him away. He even walked by slowly couple times staring at us which is ok, but eventually becomes uncomfortable. At one point we were obviously in an important part of a conversation, and he made an odd comment essentially asking why we were not done. Even our salad had a little salad left in the bowl when he took it. Water glass left empty but I didn’t care at that point. It was obvious he wanted us out. Maybe we were his last table. I won’t go back.

I like the food. It’s very easy to get lost in an entire pizza all by yourself. Even easier to get lost in a Nutella Dessert Pizza with Marshmellows on top… I would know. Plenty of parking, apparently you can now bring your pizza into the bar next door? I will have to try that some time. Service is decent. I would reccommend.

First off, my partner and I generally REALLY enjoy Cane Rosso and have been to pretty much all the various locations(Deep Ellum, White Rock, Carollton & Fort Worth) and enjoyed the hell out of it. However, this evening, we called-in an order only to have the person taking the order completely forget to place it. So, we arrived to pick up our pizza and had to wait another 20+ minutes for it to be made. We expect a lot more from Cane Rosso and this was in no way up to their usual standards. It was disappointing that the management offered nothing for their oversight in this matter. We’re always drawn to great customer service but tonight, Cane Rosso was a huge let-down.

My favorite place to go. It is a little pricey so i only go about 2 or 3 times a month but it’s totally worth it. My favorite is the honey bastard. That’s by far one of their best! Staff is also really nice and are very knowledgable about their pizzas. Writing this review makes me want to go again just thinking about the pizzas! Lol

I can’t believe I haven’t given this place a review yet. We love this place and come here on special occasions now and again. The pizza is always amazing and it is very unique style, that is most definitely not Pizza Hut. In addition to having great traditional pizzas, their dessert pizzas are awesome. The Smores pizza is how we end every visit there. I really recommend this place, especially if you want to take out of town guest somewhere cool.

I really like this Cane Rosso location. It has plenty of parking and plenty of space. The indoor seating is very spaced out and the outdoor seating area is large and well decorated. I prefer it to the Deep Ellum location, although the service here is a little bit slower. It’s hard to get a hold of the waiter most of the time. Every time I go, I order the burrata. It comes with 6 pieces of bread, arugula, and friarielli(which after a quick google search I found out is broccoli rabe, not that I know what that is either). They give a generous portion of burrata so I always ask for extra crostinis(bread) so I can eat it all. It is delicious so I don’t want to leave any left in the bowl! The pizza here is incredible. According to my waiter the first time I went here, Cane Rosso is one of five(I think it was five) restaurants certified to have the classic Italian 900 degree oven. The extreme temperature cooks the pizza in about 70 seconds. Yes, 70 seconds. If they leave it in a few seconds too long, it’s burnt. If they take it out a few seconds too early, it’s soggy. That doesn’t seem to be a problem though because every time I have come here, the pizza is cooked perfectly. Note that the pizza is intended to be a little more moist than the pizza we are all use to. Italian pizza was meant to be eaten with a fork and knife(according to them; I’m no expert, I’m just relaying information) so this pizza is moist in the middle. Don’t mistake this for soggy though. It is definitely not soggy. I’ve only had the margherita pizza here, but it’s delicious! I suggest asking for extra basil on the margherita pizza though, it adds more flavor. As of now, this is my favorite pizza spot! Bottom line: Cane Rosso has awesome pizza and burrata. I always order the same thing every time I go and it never disappoints. Definitely try it out if you want some of the best pizza you’ll probably ever have.

Our favorite pizza place by White Rock! Great salads, pizzas, beer and wine. The service has always been responsive and fun. Highly recommend. If it’s too crowded, we love to eat at the bar counter. Great service there too!

3.5 stars. Ok… don’t get mad at me, but I really don’t get the hype about Cane Rosso. I am partial to a certain style pizza since I’m from the Midwest, but I swear I’m very open to enjoying other styles. Pizza is the best food ever so I’m not being overly critical. Cane Rosso is good, but it’s not good good. It’s not, «this is my favorite pizza place» or «I recommend this to visitors» good. I definitely knew I wasn’t going to get the type of pizza I am used to, but with all the rave reviews and news stories I thought this place would be better. My first issue is the hot soppressata on nearly every pizza we were halfway interested in. The key word is «hot»…I don’t like spicy foods. So duh, don’t get anything with hot soppressata or substitute regular pepperoni, but still, it just bugged me. It might not even be all that spicy, but I didn’t want to risk ruining my tastebuds so we substituted pepperoni instead. The pizza came out super quick, almost as if they had one waiting in the back, but it was definitely fresh. We ordered the Zoli pizza, but it didn’t say anything about the pizza being DRENCHED in oil. The slices were soppy and floppy and after we finished the pie there was a bunch of oil left over. Are you supposed to dip the crust in the puddle of leftover oil or something? This pizza thing is getting too complicated. I’m not impressed. Been there, done that, no thanks.

Terrible service! Botched our pies on the first go round. Didn’t get a single water refill the entire time! Waitress forgot to give the bartender our drink order, and we had to flag down another waiter because she was m.i.a nearly the entire time. Another waiter had to take our check at the end of the meal. Just terrible, terrible service. The atmosphere was not very inviting either, nothing warm or cozy about it. Concrete floors in a huge open room make for a very noisy experience, don’t go here if you feel like having a conversation. The pizza was honestly mediocre at best. I’ve eaten many different styles of pizza all across the United States and this was not even on the radar of good or return worthy. I definitely will not be going back or recommending this place.

Ok… I’ve been back to this location THREE times in the last two months(not my idea… meeting friends that selected this place)…PUHLEEEEEEZE tel me what the attraction is here!!! GOOEYDOUGHYTASTELESSCRUST! I even requested a «crispy» crust for my order and it came back jusyt like all the others,.BlaaaaaH! Folks this is NOT thin crust pizza, and it definitely NOT the way it is made in Naples. I’ve been there dozens of times. Pizza Hut makes a far better pizza than this mess. Don’t waste yor $$ and your time waiting for a table.

This is the worst non-chain pizza I can remember having since college. I would describe the crust as «limp» and the toppings as «way too salty/nondescript». Surely Dallas has much better to offer.

Authentic? Authentically bad, sure. We ordered the Margherita and the Cane Rosso. The crust is the worst part. It has black char on it to provide the illusion of good crust, but it’s too dense and has no blisters or bubbles. It lacks the chewy texture of good pizza crust. It also doesn’t support the weight of the toppings even on the Margherita. The center of the pie was a soggy mess. The Cane Rosso toppings were too salty. On the Margherita, the cheese and sauce blended together in a weird way and resulted in a kind of pink-hued paste. And the arugula was totally wilted! It’s supposed to be crispy and fresh. Did they cook the pizza with the arugula on it? That’s a real rookie move. In general, these pies were very disappointing and totally inauthentic.

Wouldn’t take a to-go order. I guess they don’t want my business. If you try and change or build your own they say no or at a minimum give you a hard time. When restaurants begin to think they’re more important than their customers, they lose my business. On to the next of many amazing pizza joints in Dallas.

So I don’t know how they do things at this location, but I’ve never had a problem at the Deep Ellum location. I got to the restaurant about 30 mins before closing to order a meatball sandwich, it took the host awhile to realize someone was waiting at the front, no problem. We got seated and the waitress took my order, she confirmed the type of sandwich(meatball) and salad I wanted. Great. I advised her we were pretty hungry, so please bring it out as soon as possible as I know they were about to close as well. 15 minutes later, waitress brings out a sausage & peppers sandwich, waives it in our face at the table and process to walk away as she passingly said they brought out the wrong sandwich. We would have eaten it if given the opportunity since I was so hungry. No luck, she was already gone by the time I could respond. I watch as the kitchen staff turns off their pizza oven and cleans up. 10 minutes later, waitress drops off a Caprese sandwich and tells me that’s what I had ordered. I can either eat it or not. My choice. Asks me what I want to do. She also drops off the check that she was already carrying, which clearly states«Meatball sandwich.» I told her and the manager that I was so hungry at this point, I’ll just eat this sandwich and get it to go. Manager did offered to make it up to me next time I’m here, but I don’t know if that’s a great idea after this experience. There are plenty of other pizza and sandwich restaurants around the DFW.

Delicious, wood fired thin crust with explanation from waiter ahead of time about their crust(doughy in the middle, perfectly crusty at the edges) & out of this world toppings. We got the Vegetale, which had caramelized onions, Kalamata olives, broccoli rabe, & artichoke. So good with their frozen limoncello on a hot Dallas night!

FYI«Cane» is pronounced«kah-nay» and not«kain»(lol :() I visit Dallas now and then, and Cane Rosso has always been on my to-try list due to rave reviews from friends. I came into town from Houston on the later side one night and decided to hit up the White Rock location since I didn’t want to bother with Deep Ellum parking. A big parking lot and spacious interior of the restaurant made my dining experience so much better, especially after the hellacious 4-hour drive from Houston(I hate you, 45). I plopped down at the bar, and the bartender was really attentive and explained everything about the place since it was my first time. I’ll have to admit — this was my first time eating Neapolitan pizza, and it isn’t my favorite. The dough is, personally, just a bit too thin and chewy. It’s not the fault of the restaurant, though, because that’s the way it’s supposed to be served! I think. Anyway, I ordered the Honey Bastard, which is one of their«secret menu» items, taking the pepperoni pizza and topping it with a spicy honey sauce and bacon marmalade(the Honey Badger is the same minus the bacon). STELLAR combination, and the dough actually made for a really nice canvas to highlight the different flavors. The Honey Bastard tastes super familiar, but I can’t put my finger on it. It somehow reminds me of Asian food, but like I said — I don’t know why it does! If anyone could clue me in on that, it’d be much appreciated. Since I came by myself, one pizza was more than enough for my lonesome, but it might not be enough for 2. Next time I’m back(and there will be a next time!), I would elect to indulge in the dessert pizzas so long as I have someone with me :) Then 1 savory pizza would be enough! I think serving Neapolitan pizza really sets Cane Rosso apart from the other pizza joints not only in the Metroplex but also the state. Phenomenal taste, excellent service — it would be my go-to if I lived near here!

Food(5⁄5) I used to only ever get one thing: the Honey Bastard. It’s an off-menu pizza that is served with soppressata(Italian dry salami), bacon marmalade, and then drizzled with jalapeño honey for the ultimate spicy and sweet kick. Cane Rosso is king at Neapolitan-style pizza, so it’s a thinner crust and cooks in a stone oven for no more than 90 seconds. With the Honey Bastard, the jalapeño honey makes the pizza a little flimsy /soggy to hold, but it’s SOGOOD that I just eat it in record time so that it doesn’t matter. On my last visit though, I got introduced to the second thing I will always order: the Lady Bird. Cane Rosso, please make this a permanent thing! It’s a dessert pizza topped with mascarpone, Nutella, and Trader Joe’s cookie butter, and it’s just as amazing as it sounds!!! I’ve posted photos of both my Honey Bastard and Lady Bird, but damnit… my pictures and Cane Rosso’s dim lighting don’t do these pizzas justice. Service(4⁄5) We were quoted a 1.5 hour wait, but you can track your spot in the queue through your smartphone via the NoWait app. Ultimately, our wait was only 45 min — 1 hr. I really enjoyed the transparency Cane Rosso had in utilizing this app since I could see in real-time how many parties were in front of us as well as the estimated amount of time remaining until our table was ready. Conveniently, the waiting area is composed of a high-top table /counter and is right next to the bar so you can grab a drink while you wait. Once seated, the waiter was very friendly and was thorough in describing all the pizzas to first-timers in our group. Atmosphere(5⁄5) The White Rock Lake location is my FAVORITE. I know Deep Ellum is the original, but you can’t beat(1) free and ample parking and(2) a really sweet outdoor patio perfect for warm weather. This is a perfect place to take a large group of friends to hang out. Overall, it’s a long wait for a table, but the pizza comes out quickly after you’ve ordered. Very delicious entrée and dessert pizzas. I can’t wait to come back and eat on the patio once the weather warms up!

This Cane Rosso wins my heart way over the one by Deep Ellum, not because of the pizza necessarily, but because of the amount of space, seating, and of course free parking! It was a bit confusing trying to find this place along this weird hill, but once you see the giant CANEROSSO wall where you park, it’s smooth sailing, my friends! Ambience: Digging the hipster vibe of this place and if you like Austin-y type places then you’ll know what I mean, but the outside patio area is perfect for parties of 4 – 6(maybe even 8) when the weather’s nice and the inside has more tables than the Deep Ellum one, or maybe just seems like it, so even if there was a wait, it would be worthwhile! Pizza(Onto the good stuff): For a party of around 5 I would definitely recommend ordering 3 different pizzas to share for variety sake as well as maybe a salad to start with to piqué your appetite a bit before your Neapolitan pie is served. Your thin crusted pizza is baked in a legit brick oven in under a couple minutes, so you can expect Cane Rosso to deliver(Hah, deliver! Okay. Just me? Cool!) A few of the ones I’ve tried are the: Zoli which would be one of my favorites for sure with a good balance of pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella and basil, the Ella, and then the Che Cazzo(which is fun to say), which is good for people who love mushrooms and are the spicy loving type! it’s not that spicy though! Service: Service was friendly, offered valuable suggestions to cater to what kind of pizza we preferred, and we were able to split checks and everything with no issues. Mamma Mia, I wanna try the dessert pizza next time! :)

Neapolitan style pizza? Umm, yes please! As soon as you approach the doors to Cane Rosso from the parking lot, the first thing you will notice is the incredible smell coming from the massive oven. This can be particularly burdensome if you’re told you have around an hour wait, but believe me, there is a reason the wait is that long: it’s worth it! For those who don’t know, Neapolitan pizza has certain standards that must be met in order to be considered true Neapolitan. If you’ve never had one, think of it as a gourmet Margherita pizza. While the menu is extensive, most pizzas will include house made mozzarella and crushed San Marzanos tomatoes. Since they utilize a very hot oven, powered by woodfire, the pizzas are cooked in a mere 70 seconds. The restaurant has an open kitchen design, so feel free to entertain yourself with watching the kitchen work, and see/smell all of the delicious pizzas pulled out of the oven. The service is friendy, prompt, and attentive. We ordered the Zoli pizza, which I highly recommend, but honeslty, you can’t go wrong with any of the choices. The Zoli includes local suasage, hot soppressata(almost like a spicier pepperoni), crushed San Marzanos, mozzarella, and basil. Very delicious! With each bite, you can tell that all of the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. This place is definitely worth of its title, «Best Pizza in Dallas».
