Gosh, do I love the cheap prices for produce here! It is not uncommon to get a weeks worth of vegetables(for two) for about $ 20. While the selection in the store is not that of a major grocery store, it does fulfill most every day cooking needs. Plus, The atmosphere is like that of a little community with the small shops as you enter and the people buying fresh lunches. Such a fun place!

Carnival has a really good selection of fresh fruits and veggies, and fully stocked meat and seafood counters; as well as entire counter of cheeses and creams. Additionally, they serve eat-in hot meals, and those are priced really generously. It’s not uncommon to have workers whose primary language is Spanish, so be prepared to flex your linguistic muscles. On holidays, there’s often events for kids and live music in the store, which is a lot of fun. For Easter there was a live Mariachi band, and for Halloween, there were about 150 kids in costumes; most of the staff were dressed up too. Carnival is our local grocery food store of choice here in Dallas.

I come here for the produce. And it is worth it, Their plantains are great. I always get avocados, they’re the cheapest and best quality here. Also like the other stores in the area the pico de gallo is good and contains a good amount of spice. I’ve ordered multiple times from the hot case, and deli, but beware of the meat dept depending on what time you go, the butcher doesn’t like it if you don’t speak Spanish.

This was my first time coming here I have passed by several times but have never stopped in. They have a big bright clean store. There used to be lots of this grocery chain but this is one if the last ones I know of. I was very pleased with this store and all it had to offer.
