Catfish Friday’s has moved. The catfish is still the best. The filets are large and fried to perfection. The servings are extremely generous with homemade fries too. Everything is made to order to it is fresh, not greasy and hot. We pickup an order every time we are in Dallas.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They went as far as offering a suggestion on my order that saved me quite a bit of money, which was appreciated. I am pretty finicky about eating catfish, as I prefer perch, but I heard great things, so I decided to take a chance. The fish itself was lightly breaded and fried, however I liked it fried a bit harder than it was. The sides of bread and fries are typical and complemented the meal. I was a bit thrown off by the baggies of hot sauce that I was given, but I poked a small hole in the Baggie and worked it out. My friends all enjoyed the catfish which was great. I will probably come again and ask that they fry the fish a little longer.

First, let me say I am very picky when it comes to catfish. I was so ready to try it because of other reviews, yet I was disappointed. The setup is cool inside the Texaco gas station. You’re warmly greeted when you walk up to order, menus are clearly displayed. The prices really aren’t bad at all either. The food: The fish was ok. I got a filet meal, mild(spicy is offered too). The fish was crispy but the flavor wasn’t there. The fries definitely were not previously frozen so I enjoyed those. Oh and the bread was fresh. Hot sauce is available upon request, other than that you get tartar sauce with your order. I really wanted to like it but I just wasn’t impressed.

I’ve been hearing good things about this place for over a year and today was my first visit. I guess there is just something about buying food from a place that is inside of a gas station and next door to a funeral home that kind of puts me off. However, I gave into temptation and was very impressed with how good they are. I ordered the daily lunch combo. It comes with two pieces of catfish filet and shrimp, fries, and a canned soda or bottled water. All of that for $ 6.99. The price in itself is pretty awesome. The fish tastes great, the shrimp was ok(but who really cares, it’s a deal!), the fries were really good(kind of remind me of Wing Stop’s fries but minus the sugar), and in all you get a pretty good amount of food. You can order the fish spicy or mild. I had two orders so I got one spicy and one mild and we switched a piece when I got back to the office. The spicy isn’t too hot in my opinion but my coworker felt grateful for the included soda because her mouth was on fire. Although both spicy and mild are delicious, I do slightly prefer the mild. There were only two people working there when I came to pick up my order. They were both very polite and friendly. I will definitely include this place in my weekly lunch choices from now on. I am recommending Catfish Friday’s to all of my family and friends!

I absolutely love this place. The fish is always seasoned wonderfully. The portions are worth the money. The people who work there are very friendly and you can tell they enjoy their job. I like to have Catfish Fridays at least once a week.

Made my first visit to CF last Friday(I had a Groupon, as did a number of others whom I saw while waiting for my food) Basically, CF is a takeout counter in a gas station with 4 or 5 tables inhabited almost exclusively by people waiting for their takeout orders. We had both catfish and shrimp. The shrimp was awesome, sweet and fresh – reminded me of the best shrimp I ever had from a takeout truck in Hawaii. The catfish was good, too, but a little different than most places: it has a soft, spicy crust that is tasty, but not crispy as usual; I’m still trying to decide if I like it or not. And to wipe up the grease, a couple of slices of white bread rather than hushpuppies. But the real standout? The spicy, perfectly fried, handcut French fries – mmmmmm good. CF is not big on sides; basically, the choice is French fries or French fries! No slaw, no onion rings, just French fries – but oh, what French fries! Those delicious fries along with the sweet, fresh shrimp certainly will bring me back for a return visit. Portions were large, although a little pricey IMO, given the ambience(or lack thereof…), but still worth a visit. I’ll be back(although next time I’ll call ahead and avoid the 20 minute wait while my food is cooked to order fresh from the fryer!)

Catfish Fridays, was tasty however, I am not happy with paying catfish prices for Asian fish! Has everyone gone to cooking the Asian fish? I know it’s cheaper then real catfish. However, the prices on the menu should not reflect real catfish prices. If I pay catfish prices, I want real catfish. Plus, this fish does not taste like catfish! I just wanted everyone to know. You are not eating and paying for real catfish. I think it is terrible when customers think they are getting and paying for one thing. And they are paying for a cheaper product at top dollar prices! Catfish Fridays, isn’t the only catfish place doing this; Catfish Floyds, Phatt Mitts! I haven’t been to Catfish Connections in a while. Maybe, just maybe, they are still be true to the customers. It’s time for me to start back frying real catfish at home!
