Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen

The service is horrible, the waiter we had needs a lot more training. We had to tell him to take our empty plates, he would just walk by and walk by and wouldn’t take the plates. The staff really needs a lot more training. Everything just took so long. Really bad experience and service.

I had a good meal… my server was excellent… great drinks! I recommend it! Easy on/​off the freeway.

Since Black Eyed Peas were closing down left and right, I needed an alternative to fix my country cravings — Cheddar’s Casual Café. The ones I’ve been going to usually have great service and the food were good. But this one — wow.
A friend and I go have dinner there, we waited 20 minutes, and they sat us down in a booth. Across from us were two ladies and their kids. Now, I don’t mind a bit of noise from a crowded restaurant, but their kids were banging plates and utensils like they were trying to get someone’s attention. Well, they got ours as well as a few other guests in the nearby area.
Our waiter, who didn’t know the menu at all took our order and left. We sat there for 30 minutes before we ever saw him again. He bought out our appetizers and then 2 minutes afer that, he bought out our entrees. All items were lukewarm/​cold. We asked to send it back and remake it. Another 30 minuties. By then, we are over it and wanting to go home. 20 minutes go by after waiting to get the check and sign it. Had their little kiosk machine on the table was working, we’d be out of there by now.
Overall, this was a horrible experience and we will not be coming back to this establishment. My friend even wrote on the company’s website about our experience, 2 weeks and still no response.
What ever happen to customer service and quality?

Cheddars is one of my go to restaurants whenever I’m meeting friends out. The atmosphere is casual, the drinks are cheap, and the food is satisfying.
This particular location is known for its mediocre service and long waits, but since I know this coming in, I’m not fazed by it.
After a 20 min wait, my party was seated and our waitress was quick to take our food and drink orders.
My drink wasn’t tasty at first, but it definitely got me to where I wanted to be, so cheers to that!
My order of fish tacos was delicious as always and my fries were hot and fresh.
Enjoyable experience as usual, I’ll be back in a few weeks!

I come here because my mother likes it… The service is horrible and it always has been… The booths are never clean neither are the floors. we waited so long for a waiter after we were seated… I don’t like waiters touching my straw… if I never come here again I will be happy…

Sorry ass service beyond slow extremely slow so is an understatement!!! And don’t call in they never answer the phone I called 5 time literally before I got an answer. If you do not have to come here please do not smfh. Poor service at its lowest level

Our server, Matthew, was so polite and overall awesome. The food was superb and the restaurant was very clean. I was on a business trip and this was the best food that week.

First of all– I never give reviews but today I must. I have never experienced service this bad before at this restaurant. I love cheddars and its our favorite place to eat but we are from Oklahoma and is new to this place– We arrived at 8pm, informed them 16 guests– we knew there would be a wait we understand that because we were a large group. But not this long! We ended up sitting down 1 hour and 30 minutes later (9:30) waited 10 minutes to get our drinks ordered. Lady waitress quit us guess felt uncomfortable then another waiter came he got frustrated bec too may drinks errors. 3^rd waiter was nice. we were able to ordered our food… guess what it took them over an hour to serve us – my meal was half cold! 11:30 we finally left. what really ticked me off is when i told the waitress we been here since 8 she said «we Busy» and walked off but they werent too busy to manage to serve 5 other tables that came in hour after us and left before we got our food. Worse service ever! I think Ill stick to my local Cheddar’s

Let me preface this by admitting that weI did not actually eat at this location. The rating is solely based upon the cleanliness of the establishment. The floor (carpet) appeared that it had not been cleaned /​swept /​or vacuumed in quite some time. It was literally covered in food and debris from numerous days of patrons. The table we were seated at was dirty and sticky. The seat had grease stains, bits of food on it, and various tears in the covering. Once the «bathroom» smell set in we had had enough and decided not to take our chances with our health regarding the quality of the food. We had seen enough and left. We will not visit this location again.

When I walked in with my wife, the place was packed. After eating there, I can see why. It’s a quality place to visit.
I loved my Monte Cristo sandwich, which was deep fried to a golden brown yet warm and melty inside. The drinks were well mixed too, and it was all very affordable. Next time I’ll be sure to get the croissants with honey butter but thats not a downer because I’ll definitely be back!

Slow and terrible service. We had to look at a table full of dirty dishes during our whole time there. Our order was wrong and the waitress never came back with what we ordered.

I can only manage so much «chain» food before I forget which one I’m in. EXCEPT Chedders. We have been pleasantly surprised at both the Grand Prairie location and the DeSoto location. Cheerful host staff, wait staff EVEN if you opt to sit in the bar area. The entrée prices are good, especially for the portion sizes. I like the Chicken Cesar Pasta Salad, The Chicken Pot Pie, And the burgers.

Well, where to start… Our server looked like he would rather be somewhere else. We asked for limes and he brought our tea with 4 slices of lemon instead. Ok… no biggie. Our honey butter croissants were cold, our server was pushy, the table was sticky too. Our food arrived in a timely manner, it wasn’t cold but it wasn’t hot either. Our server didn’t bring a single refill, we had to hunt him down for to go boxes and our check. When he brought the slip to sign he stood over my shoulder to wait to pick up his tip. I’ve been in the service industry long enough to know that you don’t stand over a customer expecting a tip. We won’t be going back there.

Despite it typically always being crowded, it almost always provides fast and good service. You definitely get bang for your buck, I normally share the chicken strip meal because it is just that much food. And I can’t even begin about the oh so delicious alcoholic drinks that are CHEAP. Always a winner with me here!

Worst service ever. Our waiter almost never came to our table. We went out entire meal without refills. Not all of our food was brought out. We ended up not ever getting it. The manager also told a group right in front of us that he was waiting for us to leave. We hadn’t even gotten our food yet. I will never come here again. I only put 1 star because I have to choose one. But in my opinion, it doesn’t deserve any.

We often do take outs from this place for lunch. We got veggie plate which consisted of either house salad or tortilla soup, butter croissant, and four choice of sides. We got tortilla soup which was basically tomato and onion cooked in water. I ordered loaded potato, steamed broccoli, sweet carrots, and broccoli casserole. The price was reasonable ($ 5.99) but the food was meh! They forgot my loaded potato and instead gave 2 broccoli casseroles.
Their butter croissant is yummy.

Nice no complains the Salmon was is the right season and the rice was Awsome. Went to this location Twice in one day. The Drink of Mango Rita was good

Very slow… We waited so long we ended up getting or food to go. Don’t go if you are in a rush. We waited a hour for 2 divers.

After a failed outing to a shopping outlet (I hate shopping but shopping on Mother’s Day weekend was even worse), I ended up starving and cranky.
Texas natives have been raving about this place. One guy I dated spoke about how good it was. I decided to stop by and check it out.
LOCATION: Right off I-​20. You cannot miss it, especially traveling eastbound.
PARKING: Parking is sufficient, but it was tight this weekend. God was in love with me that day, my space was right in the front waiting for me.
WAIT TIME: I was rollin’ solo (cuz I’m a G like that). Hostess informed me I could wait 20 – 25 minutes for a table for one or head to the lounge/​bar area. I took me arse straight to the bar area and found a nice little seat to myself.
BARTENDERS: Ashley was my bartender. She had one of the busboys wipe my area down because it was messy, then introduced herself and presented a menu.
AMBIENCE: Casual, hot Mother’s Day weekend. Can you say busy as heck? It was loud in this place, but not obnoxiously «OMG WTF WHY IS EVERYONE SO DAMN LOUD?!» loud. My natural introvertedness, hunger and crankiness had me in the mindset of using earbuds while I ate, but the energy in here actually lifted my mood a little. (And maybe the anticipation of chiggun.)
SERVICE + ORDERING: I knew what I wanted as soon as I saw it. I ordered the Chicken and Waffle. Had a tall drink of H2O with it and enjoyed life. As busy as the place was, I had my food hot and fresh in less than 10 minutes. Amazing, right?
FOOD: My plate was hot and my serving was huge. I did not actually count the number of chicken tenders I received with my meal, but it was at least 5 strips. My waffle was huge and buttery looking, dusted with powdered sugar. I dug right in, and got full quickly. Since I’m one of those sympathetic types who finish my plate because kids are starving in Africa, I was shocked when I couldn’t finish the last tender. (As a chubster, I also felt a slight sense of defeat, but realized I’d be okay.) To tease people, I checked in on Unilocal and posted pictures on Instagram. (I would’ve done it for the Vine but that was too much work.)
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Ashley, the bartenders and employees were all pretty pleasant, joyous and easy to work with. I had a Resting Bitch Face the entire visit, and didn’t have much to say, but I left what I felt was a pretty nice tip and thanked her on the receipt for the service. Everyone has good energy in there and are pretty cool.
Yeah, so I left as soon as I was done, waved bye to the people who were still waiting for tables… and drove home nice and jovial in time to pass out from that Itis and have dreams about French fries and bird poop. (Don’t ask.)

I ate at this place today and it was really good. Not to say I haven’t ate here before but my experience today was nice. The service was good from beginning to end. My sister new the young lady at the front– (from aways ago) who showed us to our table. Then Kevin– our waiter was nice and attentive. He took our order with a smile and took our checks with a smile. Thank him for that. Our food was really good. Had a taste of spinach dip/​couple of chicken tenders and onion rings. Let me tell you — I went in on those onion rings. I drank water– on a diet. (LOL). My overall experience was a 5 star. I am full– as I write this.

I’ve been put on hold several times for over 10 minutes for a carry-​out order. Not worth it. I feel like the staff freaks out when they’re busy.
Dining in, however, is still a pretty good experience.
