Great burger place located in downtown close to my office. Plus the company gets a discount as well so that adds to the overall satisfaction. They have all kinds of burgers and the burgers have better than average quality for sure. There is a bit too much oil for my liking in the buns, but I take it as a cheat meal during the week and enjoy it. It does get crowded during lunch time so try to beat the crowd by going at 1130 or 1 to get a table. As another plus they have a very tasty veggie burger!

Disappointed!!! This place was on my list of burger places to try. I got the Buffalo burger with bacon. I couldn’t taste the wing sauce really and the blue cheese wasn’t one that I cared for. The meat itself wasn’t flavored all. The burger also had a sweet taste to it which I couldn’t identify at first but then my bf said his burger was slightly sweet to so we concluded it was the bun, which I may be one of few but I don’t like sweet buns on a burger at all. Also me and my bf shared the truffle fries. This was my first experience with truffle flavoring and I was really excited. …well they fell very flat and the fries weren’t fresh which probably would have helped the flavor. Also for 2 burgers, 1 fry and two fountain drinks it was 24 dollars. I’m not cheap by any means but the food and the price don’t coincide. I wouldn’t go back nor would I recommend CHB

Great chicken-fried chicken sandwich! Hot and fresh! Good prices for downtown. Food was quickly served. My Italian Nut Job shake was absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that my truffle fries had way too much parmesan and truffle oil. But I can ask them to go easy next time. Also I’d like to try some of their burgers soon.

To start, I am not a huge burger fan and am generally unimpressed with most the gourmet burger places around. However, Chop House burger was a nice surprise. My husband and I sent on New Years Eve during the day after walking for awhile downtown. It was around 1 and there was no line. We got our food quickly and were often asked if everything was good or if we needed anything. We even sat on the patio, as it was cool out but with heaters and window plastic it was very comfortable. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with bacon and my husband had a burger bacon, american cheese and truffle sauce. We shared an order of truffle Parmesan fries with truffle sauce on the side. I was nervous to order the fries as these type are either amazing or overdone and gross. We really liked the fries, we thought the truffle sauce on the side might be overkill but it was a good addition. They were crisp, salty and flavorful. The order was more then enough for us both to split. We both thought the brioche buns were great and set these burgers apart. My chicken was flavorful and juicy. The addition of the gravy and additional gravy on the side was great. While, not needed the bacon was a good addition as well. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger. We both were stuffed and very satisfied when we left. Most of the burger combinations though didn’t appeal to me or stand out as unique. Next time I will look forward to trying the shakes.

This is one of my favorite quick burger places! I’m addicted to the Wine Country Burger! The meat is juicy, the goat cheese is perfectly creamy, the buns are soft and sweet. You’ll love it! The atmosphere is kind of «industrial meets butcher block» and creates an interesting atmosphere. Perfect to pop over for lunch from work since you order at a counter and don’t have to wait for waitstaff.

My boyfriend and I ordered from here last evening and we both had a good first experience. Prices were decent even though burger selection wasn’t too diverse. We ended up getting the wine country burger which was pretty good. My favorite parts were the bun, which was perfectly buttery and the combination of the honey mustard and goat cheese. The truffle fries were also a nice touch with the parmesan they added. Overall, decent prices and an easy online ordering system for take-out!

I’ve definitely experienced better. Monday night November 23rd, I ordered a buffalo burger which took about 8 minutes to receive. It tasted exactly like a beef patty. Not sure if buffalo is supposed to taste any different! The sitting area and the décor is really nice actually, the large wooden tables are great. The burger patty itself had one too many tough tendon/cartilage bits in it, the patty was not seasoned, the sauce soaking the bread was watered down tabasco sauce, only a tiny part of the burger had blue cheese on it. Overall the burger was really mediocre, I’ve had a much better burger from Mooyah. From the burger quality and their appearance, it doesn’t seem like the cooks know what they’re doing. I recommend finding another burger place until Chop House does better hiring and training.

really good! the prices are similar to smashburger… but this place is so much better than that. 1. ambiance– pretty cute 2. service– fast, but the tables are kind of dirty, but whateves 3. price– really good it’s like $ 6 for a burger and that’s awesome for downtown. 4. burgres and fries are really good. i got the chop house burger– patty was well made… it actually fit appropriately with the bun in terms of proportions. yeah, not a hard request, but this is pretty hard to do. it’s also cooked better– an actual medium. the fries are really good– very crispy and truffle/parm flavor. awesome. i’ll be back! —hh

Some girl had a bug in her burger. She reports it and the manager gets mad at the cook. The cook who made the burger walks out on the job. The manager then has the other employees make the burger. Evidently they made it wrong because the girl brought it back. Probably had onions or something she didn’t want(besides the point). The manager, then goes OFF on the other employees. He did so, so badly to the point were the other patrons(including myself) were in complete shock. He was talking to his employees like children and I know they felt belittled and disrespected. He was pointing in their face and everything. Completely uncalled for!!! You can tell he is NOT built for management. I heard his name was Ahad, not sure what his last name is, but that guy has to go. I feel for those employees who were asked to correct another persons mistakes. Needless to say, I will not be back to this place ever again. I can’t support this type of behavior. Management has to go!!!

Tasty and great location for people watching… I’ve visited Dallas many times but I usually stay away from downtown. I happened to be in town for the Cedia 2015 convention and I wanted to go have lunch at a nearby restaurant. I looked at the various choices and Chophouse was on the list. I read various reviews some great, some ok. I often read the reviews to help me decided which place to visit. I had lunch here Thursday, Friday & Saturday. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that they have the best burgers I’ve ever had BUT they do make a good burger. The fries are good, the burgers were cooked right and the shakes were tasty. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, the music fits the scenery and the price of the food is comparable to a fast food place. All in all I enjoyed it enough to come here 3 days in a row for lunch! So if you have time stop in and check them out.

Came to this little gem when I was visiting Dallas in the beginning of the year. I ordered the burger with the goat cheese. I am a sucker for anything that has goat cheese in it. I also got an order of the truffle fries, which I believe to be some of the best I’ve eaten to date. I’d recommend this place to anyone visiting the dallas downtown area.

Decent little burger spot. If you can ignore the bums popping in and out every couple of minutes, this place is pretty solid. I had the ahi tuna burger which was really good aside from the wasabi. I haven’t fully acquired the taste for that yet. I shared some fries with my coworker and damn, were they good. I also had a sip of the shake and it was bomb. Food takes a bit of time to get as they make it fresh to order. Also they have some beers and wine if you wanna get a little crunky with your burger. The register chicks came around while eating and made sure everything was good. Nice little touch. As I walked out of CHB, I thought to myself damn little burger shop, you got it going on.

Generally speaking this usually is a good establishment but I went today during lunch hours and got a regular chophouse burger with French fries. Took it to go went back to the office and was eating it and then got some hair in the patty. Took it out thinking whatever no big deal, took another bite another piece of hair on the other side. Threw the rest of it away. Be careful!

My one trip(so far) to Chop House was a pleasant experience. The line to order was somewhat long, but the food was delivered quickly once we paid. When it comes to beef, I harbor this weird incongruity… I like my steaks«mooing rare» but my burgers well done. Strange, I know. Usually, my well done orders at most places get cooked medium well, but not here: I ordered my Chop House burger well done and they got it right.(The guy I was eating with said they overcooked his, BTW). I liked my burger a lot… good bun, fresh fixins… all good. My fries were the bright spot. I ordered the parmesan/truffle fries and damn they were good. The regular fries looked good too, but these? Most excellent. A somewhat crass disclaimer is appropriate here… I love truffle oil… if you put it on a dog turd, I’d probably like it. I only had a soft drink, but the milkshakes they had on the menu sounded great. The ambience was fine… communal seating inside, small tables outside. We sat outside and it was ok, but I suffer from«hobophobia»(a fear of bums). SOBEWARNED!: as you’re wallowing in relative comfort and munching on your decadent, nouveau-riche truffle fries, the homeless of downtown Big D are walking by and giving you the stink-eye. If you’re not up for being drafted into that whole class warfare thing, I recommend you sit inside. The prices were very low for a downtown Dallas burger not of the Mickey D’s or BKC variety. A good value indeed.

I got the Chop House Burger. Black summer truffle sauce, I added bacon to it with pepper jack cheese & bread & butter pickles as well. Medium well, makes the whole product melt in your mouth. Their truffle fries are good as well. They don’t need any sauce. Something I should’ve done was get a milkshake but I didn’t want to overdo it. They have kids meals as well. A mini burger & they give them a ton of fries, along with a cup that they can take home. Located in a good area where you can see The Eye at the Joule & see some art as well.

Chop House has really good burgers made with local ingredients. The menu is pretty simple: you can order one of the specialty burgers and sandwiches or get the Chop House Burger and let your imagination & taste buds run wild with add-ons. It’s a small restaurant on the corner of Main & Akard. The seating is limited inside but there is additional seating on the patio. It’s best to get there early or later after the lunch rush. Now on to the important part. I’ve had the Chop House burger with bacon and/or grilled onions. It’s the perfect size and I really like the flavor. Burgers are normally cooked medium but if you prefer anything from straight off the cow rare to well done, just let them know. My favorite is now the Green Burger! A delicious falafel patty with pickled cucumbers, purple onions, tzatziki, and hummus. I used to really like the parmesan truffle fries, they aren’t the same. Now, I save a dollar and get the regular fries which are so crispy and just right. They have salads but I haven’t tried one. Pick a salad bowl out of the fridge while your in line and tell them which patty you want to add, for an additional fee. I say give Chop House Burger a try for a not so traditional burger.

Came back here yesterday to give this place another go. This time I tried the Wine Country Burger, which was a bit more expensive at $ 8, as well as a the«Frenchie» shake to pass the time. It was a weekday afternoon, and there was a brief line, but the wait wasn’t too bad. This time the burger came in under 15 minutes, which leads me to believe the last time was a bit of a fluke, so that’s good. And the shake came quickly after we sat down, probably within 5 minutes, so that was nice. However, this time my burger kind of came medium-well /well done, even though I asked for medium rare, which was unfortunate. The toppings were fresh though so the burger was still pretty tasty. Meanwhile, the shake sounded like it would be a lot sweeter. I believe it would do a lot better with some sea salt, and maybe make the bits of crushed caramel smaller since they kind of just clump up at the bottom. The vanilla bean flavor was pretty strong, less so on the caramel. Still not a bad place over all — on par with Smashburger, but not really a memorable burger/shake either. The staff is really very nice, too, and it’s very convenient if you live/work downtown.

Great Chophouse Burger w/a side of Parmesan Truffle Fries! There was a decent line that didn’t take too long to meander through, but the food arrived to the table quickly.

Been here, done that. With all of the places in Dallas to get a burger, this place was just okay. Personally I have had a better burger/truffle fries experience elsewhere **cough** Smashburger **ahem** Relish. Yes it’s convenient if you work downtown. I feel that they try too hard with concepts like the Wine Country burger, etc. The service was friendly though.
