One of Dallas’ hidden gems. Really fun to sail. You have to be a member and own your own boat. They have races for two classes: Flying Scots and Corinthians, both under 20 feet. They have races pretty much every weekend, weather permitting. If you buy a slip, it think they are about $ 10,000, which you can sell when you don’t want it anymore. I have you can rent slips for about $ 500/month I think. They moorings are pretty inexpensive but kinda a pain to get to. It is really fun, though and the people I have met are really cool.

Great club for those that want to learn to sail and race. Members are super friendly and helpful to novices.

When you think of Sweet 16 you don’t really think of a sailing club – but I’m glad my daughter’s uncle does! This was the perfect location for her birthday party. We had a DJ, food, cake, candy buffet, and all right out ON the lake. This is a perfect location. What’s the catch? You have to be a member to book the facility. But joining is not super expensive – couple hundred a year to be a social member. I was told that gives access to the club house for your events, picnics on the water, etc. The slips are more expensive but since I don’t own a boat, that’s fine with me. What a great place!

I have really enjoyed sailing the Snipe Southwesterns here. The club is only on the lake, so there is no overnight parking for vehicles or trailers. No camping or showers either. White Rock Lake is close to downtown Dallas, so there are many motels within a 15 minute drive. The lake is shallow, and the wind is strong, so if you capsize, DONOTLETYOURMASTGETSTUCKINTHEMUD :) Overall, the members are friendly, race committee is good, and the wind is howling. So look forward to a great time hiking out, and wear your dingy boots.

Corinthian Sailing Club( ) offers among the best one design sailboat dinghy racing in the country. Club racing is every Sunday, all year round, with the first race signal on the water at 1:30pm CT. The most active fleet is Flying Scot sailboats. Other fleets include V-15, Corinthian, Laser, Butterfly, Snipe, and Lightning. The CSC Juniors program is very active in Optimist, Lasers, and 470’s. My entire family have been active members at CSC for years and have just a terrific time sailing and socializing! Please check the website for updates and calendar.
