Do not order delivery from this location. My husband and I have ordered delivery from this location a handful of times and every single time we have to call and either have them re-deliver our dinner or to have our order corrected. The food is always either old or cold or we don’t receive what we ordered. Not to mention the employees that answer the phone have 0 customer service skills. So disappointing because we never had this issue when we lived in Plano and ordered delivery from that location.

I found out about Cowboy Chicken from the owner about 9−10yrs ago when I met him and he said that they had the best rotisserie chicken in town and I gotta say that he was humble when he said that. Their food is amazing! Not only the chicken but the best mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Keep up the great work!

Unilocal and the reviews are always correct(at least that’s been my experience). Trying Cowboy Chicken was no different. Chicken was great, not over cooked or chewy. Twice baked potatoes were some of the best! Wishing a franchise could make it the north neighboring state.

Great place for a lunch snack. Best mashed potatoes I have ever had! Reasonably priced and great staff. Thanks you for the birthday cookie!

Found this place using the Unilocal app. The ladies taking my order were friendly and helpful in suggesting things to try. I had the chicken enchiladas, black beans and twice baked potato. I received a free peach cobbler for checking in with the Unilocal app. The enchiladas and beans were delicious. The twice baked potatoes are good just not my thing. The cobbler is good but not the best I’ve had, I probably should have ordered it with ice cream! With all that said I would recommend this place to someone if they were visiting Dallas and were staying close by.

The guy who took my order over the phone wrote down my phone number wrong(after putting me on hold twice to see if I was in the delivery zone. I live less than a mile away.) So when my driver arrived, he wasn’t able to call for me to let him in the gate. Totally understandable. The thing that really upset me is that when I did find the driver, he very rudely and sarcastically said«thanks for answering your phone, pal» even though he had dialed a wrong number. Fucking horrible customer service. How do you insult a customer and expect them to return?

Wow… Definitely the best chicken enchiladas I’ve had! I also had the apple crumb cobbler… Good grief… Check this place out and thank me later!

(around 1:10p) I called in to place my order and spoke to Chris! I had a hard time deciding what I wanted so he helped me to decide. I’m trying this for the first time so I am really excited. I will write about the food later(with a photo if I remember to), but for now I want to write about Chris’s service. The wait was brief in line and fortunately I was able to have Chris wait on me. He was very nice with a very pleasant personality and attitude, and he wished me a happy birthday(I was using my birthday coupon). He gave me a cup to get my drink while I waited. Before I could fill it with watermelon sweet tea(Tasty!), he was there with my order! His service was exceptional, and that alone will bring me back! I’m sure after I taste the food, that will bring me back as well. Tell you about it later! (2:10p) Okay. Food was great! The chicken and okra both had a great flavor; the mac.n.cheese — not the BEST I’ve ever had, but it was still good! All-in-all, it hit the spot! Thanks, Chris! I’ll be back, y’all!

Ok, it’s been 4 years and I gave this place another shot… I was feeling generous I suppose. Knowing not to trust delivery from my past experiences, I opted to pick up. Online ordering is nice, and leaves less room for error… right? No, not when it’s friggin cowboy chicken. After sorting forgotten things at the restaurant I was sure they would check that the items they were placing in my bag were actually for me. My bad, yall… I dropped the ball and forgot where I was. The food is ok, but it’s not worth the process of trying to eat it.

I have dined in at this location and I’ve really enjoyed the Southwest salad here! The ingredients taste very fresh, and the serving portion is big(almost for two). There is special seasoning and dressing that makes this salad stand out to me. The flavor of the chicken is great though a little on the dry side.

Slow cooked chicken for the same price as a drive-thru. It’s been years since I’ve been to a cowboy chicken, but stopped in for lunch at the Greenville location and was not disappointed. Today I tried the enchiladas and beans, and was delighted that everything tastes so fresh and the chicken was really juicy. Now that I’ve rediscover this place, I will definitely be here more often.

When it comes to inexpensive but delicious wood fired rotisserie chicken, this is the place to get it. I’ve enjoyed it often, and their macaroni and cheese is not to be missed. I recently have tried their barbecue chicken leg special, and it is some of the best caramelized bbq chicken I’ve ever had. The only thing their menu seems to be missing is for them to start offering the entire chicken with the caramelized bbq sauce. Until then, I’m a HUGEFAN of those BBQ chicken legs. YUM!

I placed a large order for 20 people, waited for it and asked to make sure its correct. Drove home and was missing two chickens and missing sides. After going back and forth they offered to give me a gift card for $ 40 but i will need to pick it up. I drove to farmers branch after i picked up the order and they expected me to drive back. Asked for the manager’s name and he hung up on me. Very rude and unprofessional. Never going back you can keep that card for yourself!!!

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now and thought it was time for an update. They are good at what they do! The chicken isn’t the juiciest chicken of all time, but that’s hard to do when cooking a whole chicken on a wood-fired rotisserie. The flavor however is awesome. Their sides are also delicious. I normally get the green beans and pinto beans to be healthy, but I’ve also tried the mac & cheese and it’s amazing. I would eat here every day if it were next door to my office. Good stuff and you can have a large meal for less than 600 calories.

I have driven past Cowboy Chicken more times then I would like to think and yesterday was my first time to stop by and actually try the food. I got the cowboy taco because I was trying to eat reasonable healthy along with the tangy tomato and cucumber side. It was all under 600 calories but there was no way u could eat it all. The cowboy taco was made with pita bread, chicken, vegetables, beans, etc. It had a sweet flavor, more so then I expected and I can only guess it was the BBQ sauce. My friend had the grilled chicken salad which looked pretty good. When I checked in on Unilocal an offer for a free cobbler popped up. While I was trying to be healthy, I just had to try it. I got the apple cobbler to go and had a few bites. It was sooooooo good! My friend and I both agreed we would add Cowboy Chicken to our list of restaurants we willl frequently visit. Not only could you make healthy choices but the cost of our meals was the same as going through a fast food drive thru, except way better. Next time I visit, I’ll definitley try the chicken and two sides platter. Also, I noticed they have great lunch specials for unbeatable prices. I highly recommend you try out Cowboy Chicken!

If your idea of seasoning is enough salt to give a twenty year old hypertension, Cowboy Chicken is the place for you. Otherwise, try a place where«herb» is a seasoning, not the name of the guy who does your taxes. The place starts with fine ingredients, sticks to a simple menu, and then throws it all away in a container of Mortons. Get a better cook.

I just love this place. That deep, spiritual kind of love that can only come from a perfect rotisserie chicken. I come to this location for lunch all the time. They have an excellent lunch special for only $ 5.99, but I can never resist ordering the ¼ white plate with a side(still just around $ 7). Let me try to put into words how perfectly cooked this chicken breast is: OH, HOTDIGGITY. Perfect, crispy skin, juicy and deliciously seasoned meat, and a great portion size. I’ve only ever ordered the corn fritters as a side, and I can confidently say I regret nothing. These decadently fried balls of sweet corn could probably end international conflicts. You’re going to get full, but you’ll eat them all anyway, because they leave you no choice. They’re freaking delicious. If you need any more convincing, the chickens are rolling around on the rotisserie behind a glass display. The hypnotic effects of watching those tasty birds is something I cannot put into text. I’ve been to a couple locations, but this one in particular has an awesome staff at lunch time. I moved from the Midwest about a year ago and feel so at home here. Friendly cashiers and service, great prices, and fried up corn balls. You really can’t go wrong.

When I first walked in I was excited by the smell of the place. I decided to try the BBQ drumsticks and two sides. It was good, but not as high as my expectations had been set by previous reviews. The chicken was a little overdone and the BBQ sauce is only sweet and tang, no spice. To compliment my chicken I got twice baked potatoes and sweet corn. The potatoes were good, but not best in Dallas good. They tasted like they had been sitting too long. The corn was not sweet and also tasted like it had been sitting too long. I finished the meal with the blackberry cobbler, the picture on the flyer looked delicious. Sadly, I was incredibly disappointed. It tasted burnt. Overall, the experience was mediocre, but the price was good. We came around dinner time at 6:30, so I was disappointed that the food did not taste fresh.

Finally decided to try this place as a healthy alternative to my normal lunch choices. The décor is modern and sleek with a huge rotisserie you can sit in front of and watch the yummy chicken cook. There were probably at least 70 chickens on the open flame rotisserie. You order at the counter, get a number, and then the good is brought out to you. The even have a 5.99 $ lunch special! I ordered the ¼ white meat plate with ranchero beans, campfire veggies, and a wheat roll. The bf ordered 3 piece dark with sweet potato, veggies, and a roll. My meal was only 433 calories(without the roll) and left me full and satisfied. The chicken was juicy on the inside and crisp on the outside. The ranchero beans were delicious and slightly spicy since it has jalapeños. The veggies were crisp yet tender and seasoned nicely with teriyaki. The sweet potato was just a plain potato but it was still very yummy. Neither of us had a single complaint. They even had lemons for your water(which is very important to me because I LOVe lemon water). Overall, it was an excellent lunch way better than boston market! And it only set us back 16 $ which is pretty much what I’d spend at McDonald’s for the both of us and way cheaper than my usual lunch choices.

Got the bbq chicken drumsticks + 2 sides and I thought this was a solid choice for lunch. The portions were good sized and The line mid-afternoon on a Saturday was pretty minimal, but it does seem to draw a decent SMU crowd. The drumsticks were cooked very well, with a crispy skin and tender meat. The BBQ was good, but a little sweet for my liking. Next time, I’ll try to order it on the side. For my two sides, I chose the mac & cheese and fried okra(at the cashier’s suggestion). The okra was tasty, little fried pockets of goodness, while the mac & cheese hit the spot. I like this place as a quick, easy, lunch option!
