They got sold !! Oh no… different bread, different bologna, different shredded lettuce. It was ok but more like a subway. Not a sandwich I would go out of my way for. So sad the original owners made the best sub in town.

Well. Deep Ellum Deli is no longer — looks like, according to my husband, a Which Which is about to fill this space. Interesting… weird addition to Deep Ellum.

Husband and I decided to hit this place up for lunch Friday after driving by it several times. I always thought it was a deli, as in a counter full of meats and they just happened to make sub sammiches. But it wasn’t. There was a super sweet Asian couple, and they were ready and willing to fill our bellies with good ol’ yumminess. We were ready for the challenge. The prices are great and after recommendation from the gentleman, I went with the chicken salad sammich. Yes, I spell sandwich s-a-m-m-i-c-h. Love it. When I bit into that chicken salad sammich, I immediately was beamed up by Scotty onto the Starship Enterprise where it felt as if I made out with Captain Kirk(but the Chris Pine Captain Kirk, not the William Shatner Captain Kirk). It.was.that.good. I don’t remember what Husband had, but he certainly was able to hear the food orgasm going on in my mouth. The sweetness of the couple, the amazingness of the food and deal and the awesome hole-in-the-wall feel… I am definitely going back for lunch next week. So if you see a Hispanic chick sitting at a table with her eyes closed and weirding out that Asian couple with her moans… yup, that’s me.

I LOVE Deep Ellum Deli. I think it has the best sandwhiches around. Whatever special secret sauce they add(a light oil parmesean?) is delicious.

Nice small Deli place located on the cross of Hall and Commerce in Deep Ellum. Staff is super nice and sandwiches are good. My business is just a few minutes away from there and this is now my most common sandwich stop. Pricing is reasonable with some daily lunch special. No Credit Cards, get some cash.

You don’t need to fix what ain’t broke, and as far as sandwich places go, Deep Ellum Deli is doing a helluva job. I always ordered the chicken salad; not the greatest sammy ever, but pretty decent. There’s something to be said about a regular order. And an adorable asian couple making my sandwich(who I wish could be my adopted grandparents). I even forgot my wallet one time, and they let me buy on credit. I haven’t been here in about two years, but I bet if I walked in tomorrow, they’d start making me a chicken salad on wheat, all dressings with extra pepper, with no questions asked. Did I mention they have diet grape drink?

This place is a great inexpensive lunch spot in Deep Ellum. There is only one table to sit at, but who cares? You are here for the cheap lunch. A nice and friendly Asian couple owns this place. They are very welcoming and very fast at making whatever kind of sandwich you want. Chips, candy and sodas are also available. It makes for a perfect spot to drop by when you’re in a hurry to get back to the office. Help keep this place alive and choose it over one of the chain sandwich shops. Cash only.
