Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

This is the second time I have gone to this location since the remodel. Both times, I requested «LEAN CUT» brisket and I received nothing but FAT! You pay for ½ lb of meat not ¼ lb meat and ¼ lb fat. I spent $ 27 on lunch and could not even eat the meat. The staff is great at greeting the customer but do not know how to properly cut a brisket.

First and last time at this location. Everything was cold. Which is odd considering they were having a manager meeting in the dining room. One would think they would be on their game. My partners onion straws, ribs, sausage, and brisket were ice cold. I ordered the baked potato with brisket and that was ice cold. So cold that they put a glob of butter underneath the brisket and it didn’t melt. Was just a cold glob of butter on a cold potato, covered with cold, dry brisket. Tried the ice cream and yuck! It definitely was not real ice cream. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Poor value, $ 15.70 lunch and not much meat on my sandwich. Employee attitude when asked about it was poor at best. Will stick with smaller independent BBQ places from now on.

i have tried about 8 different stores thru out dallas and this is their training center i believe, but this is how ALLLL of them should be! the staff was outstanding, the food beyond great, and i will ONLY go to this location on wycliff on my next visit. HIGHLY recommend. mgr was beyond helpful and attentive.

This is the most consistently good barbecue that I can get in my neighborhood, for many reasons. I’ve been here a dozen times, since this location opened.
I like the freshness of the side dishes and seasonings in the side dishes as much I like the barbecue. The barbecue is not too smoky, not too sweet or salty; and the mouth-​feel is robust and juicy. It’s just right, done right. I’ve been here many times when it wasn’t very busy, and the staff is always tidying up, getting ready for their dinner rush, with every table always clean and ready. The staff is pleasant, helpful, and (again) constantly cleaning up (which I really love seeing).
Cleanliness of a barbecue restaurant, and the consistent cleaning is part of the vibe you should want, as a customer. Barbecue, with all of its oil, fats, sugar, stewed sauces, and smoke would accumulate; so the best barbecue restaurants must keep up the cleaning, on a minute-​by-​minute basis. They do that here.
If it weren’t for their big, yellow signage, I’d miss this place, or forget about it. I wish barbecue restaurants would advertise more, to remind me that I love barbecue. Other Dicky’s locations are good, too; but this is just a little better than the other Dicky’s, and a little better than the other barbecue restaurants nearby.

The barbecue beef brisket, polish sausage, and pulled pork are cooked well. The sauces all tasted the same spicy, original, and sweet, not a difference between the three. Cole slaw was okay. The onion tangles are pretty good. Everything came out hot.

Great location, food is consistently good, great customer service. The staff is kinda all over the place but I’ve been told this is a training store so that’s why. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner!
Their pulled pork sandwiches are really good !

I love coming too this dickies they are so nice and they are very professional, the customer service is amazing and they went above and beyond to make sure that me and my partner were treated well I will come back again and again for the great food that they have :)

Great food, but most unfriendly staff in the metroplex.
Come on guys eating is a pleasurable experience, at least greeting or saying thank you can make someone’s first time a great experience.
Definitely will choose another dickey’s or BBQ place next time.

Meh, it’s okay for BBQ, but what can you expect from a big chain. This location seems to be like the go to training store, they always have new employees there training. The price for the quality food is not so great, I’d prefer going the extra 5 minutes down the road to sonny Bryan’s

It was yummy and for yankees that don’t know any better, or how the cafeteria serving works it was an enjoyable dinner. My son liked the ice cream machine as well.

I used to like this place… The last time I went the manager was not friendly and had a don’t want to be here vibe. The brisket wasn’t good and every item in the self serve station was out of stock. When I told the manager they were out of everything, he said «we’ve been busy doing other things.» What other things? I was the only customer in the place. Definitely weren’t working on making BBQ to the specs. Steer clear, very disappointed.

Bleh! My husband was craving BBQ and so we decided to try this place. I was not a fan. It may have been that the place was about to close and so we got all of the scraps… but still. The food was bland and stale tasting. With all of the options for BBQ in Dallas, we will not be returning :/

Great specials; I’m not a huge fan of traditional BBQ sauce, but theirs is really good. Sides are good, servers are super friendly.
Alright décor for a 1940s Cabin look, ‘cept for their flatscreen tvs. lol Don’t be a moron and expect Texas Land & Cattle or III Forks, instead just expect good bbq at a good price.
TIP: I just got their Thursday Special, (Cheddar sausage, pulled pork, two sides, a bun and a drink for just 7.99) and my partner got the same thing, but got the standard 2 meat item for 10.99 + drink, so just getting pork instead of turkey saved me at least five bucks. Kids eat for free on Sundays AND they do deliver at this location within 10 MILES. Just saying’

Craving cured! Delicious. Staff friendly. Potato salad, mustard– mayo based.mushy. I didn’t like it. Brisket tender, not fatty (I like fatty). Ribs tender. Cheddar sausage good also, oilly. Rolls firm/​soft. BBQ good.

I’m going to keep this simple and short. I’ve been here 2 times now. And both times have been bad. The meat is dry. The sides were old and stale. Everyone who works there seems as if it’s their first day. On my second visit I notices there were people from what I assume was from corporate. Well, that still didn’t help! I’ve been going to dickeys for years, but for some strange reason today they decided to add pickles and onions for my chop beef sandwich! I dont think I’ll be going to this location again.

Good food and good service but this location gives unusually small portions compared to other Dickey’s Barbeque. The McKinney Avenue is better.

Eh… DIckey’s has to be my least favorite of all the bbq joints I tried whilst living in the DFW area.
Their meats were dry during weekend lunch. Their sauce was just okay. Their sides were blah.
Just about the only thing we liked about DIckey’s was that they had soft serve for the kiddo.
They also had specials, so eating here is affordable if you are flexible.
The service was good, so I’ll add a star for that.
But you can find MUCH better bbq joints around. Why bother with DIckey’s?

I enjoy this location of Dickey’s… even though it’s just a chain restaurant.
The staff at this location is awesome. They’re always friendly and this location is always mostly clean.
Now the food at Dickey’s is just mediocre. Obviously it’s not the best barbecue in the world; but it’s not the worst either! I’d say it’s definitely a great place to go for a quick lunch or something. Go for it!

Great food… a little pricey and a little customer service training for your staff wouldn’t hurt… but GREAT food!!!
