Dive West

Super friendly and quick to the point.
Was looking for snorkeling gear and they had exactly what I needed.
Very helpful and knowledgeable too.

Dive West may not be the fanciest, glitziest dive shop in DFW, but I don’t care about glitz and glam when I’m looking for my diving essentials. Plus they’re a local business, and I love supporting local!
I recently stopped into Dive West to pick up a new scuba/​snorkel mask and sign up for a refresher course so I could dive on an upcoming vacation. The man who helped me was really friendly, answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable when I sheepishly told him I needed to refresh my scuba skills. Hey, it’s been almost 15 years since I was certified and at least 8 since my last dive.
They don’t have a training pool on-​site, but he gave me all of the information I needed to find the facility they use for courses. I was on a deadline to get the class completed and I was thankful they fit me in on such short notice.
As for the refresher class, I found it very helpful. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the class size was small. I also thought the class cost ($ 100) was very reasonable.
I noticed Dive West organizes multiple diving vacations for groups throughout the year, so if you’re looking to spend a week in Belize discovering what’s 80 feet below the surface, these guys have just the trip waiting for you.
PS — Don’t forget to say hi to the friendly pup who spends his afternoons napping in the sun in the display window. What a life he has!

Great little dive shop. I did my open water cert through Dive West last year and just returned from a dive trip to Cozumel. They managed to make the classroom and pool instruction fun and interesting, while still being serious and ensuring everyone knew the material and the skills. The trip was fabulous — both on and in the ocean and on land. Just good folks, who treat you like family. I highly recommend Dive West for instruction, gear and trips.
