OMG this food is SO good! We found them on a whim on a Friday night… great waiter, good food and the bourbon pecan pie was AMAZING. The waiter was so friendly and helpful. Loved it!

Super crowded on LSU game days. Food was mediocre at best. Service was pretty bad, but given the crowd, I am thinking possibly it was just understaffed. Poor enough experience that I probably won’t return.

The fried catfish lunch and the shrimp and crawfish linguine Alfredo lunch were both delicious! The pasta came with a wonderful Caesar salad which was not listed on the menu. A delightful surprise. For an appetizer, we had the oysters Iberville with a jalapeño cream sauce. All great wjth friendly service, hence the five-star rating.

Best place to watch football on Sunday’s on Greenville, not from Louisiana but everyone else seems to be. Get the pasta monica, okra, or the sissys chicken. Tell them it’s your birthday and bartenders will sing to you…

Let me tell you that this little spot in a strip center is pure New Orleans and the Bayou, all mixed into(as I am told) a Dallas tradition. Stuffed shrimp to die for, great red beans and rice… very friendly service, and a basic, clean comfortable family setting. They(amazingly) carry one of my favorite wines, Spellbound Petite Syrah… I rarely find this selection in any restaurant, and this only added to the great experience. This was my third time to eat here, and this is a «go to» spot for lunch and dinner when in Dallas. See you there next time I’m in town.

Their is only 1 Dodie’s on Greenville and it’s the original one by the Truckyard and Trader Joes. If you want authentic cajun food then I would most diff suggest Original Dodie’s. The food is SOOOOOO much better!!! Make sure your going to the 1 and only and don’t forget to Say hello to Charlie!

Oh yummy! On my first visit here, I must say I will be back! Amazing customer service and everything on the menu looks so good! They have a lunch menu that ends at 3PM. In addition the serving sizes are pretty nice! Their buddin balls are off tha chain! I can believe how great it taste. The food is served steaming hot! Unless you order a cold dish! Everything here is good! You can’t go wrong with nothing! They have an a few soups to choice from as well! The cooks and staff have been there for years, so the food is taste homemade! If your in the area, check it out!

Food — GREAT! Service — not so great :( ****Really want to give this place 5 stars but service is huge for me, so 3 stars it is! Food… Jambalaya– it was ok Fried pickles– really good, but to thin Blackened tilapia with jalapeño cream sauce– Spicy but very good House salad-very good, but hold the okra Cheesy grits– very good Fried catfish, shrimp and fries — really good Service … Slow, waitress didn’t smile, seemed rushed, seemed like we were an interruption(even though it was her job to serve us), wasn’t helpful, etc, etc. Final thoughts… Since I’m big on customer service, i would usually not go back to a place where i felt like this, but I really like their food and being that i have very few favorite places I love in Dallas(I’m from Chicago), it’s staying on my list for now, but they’re only getting one more chance to screw up on customer service and they’re getting the Ax!!!

This place is OK, I think they are pretty far removed from New Orleans to be perfectly honest. My way to gauge a real Cajun restaurant is to eat the gumbo and the oysters. I did both. Gumbo, the roux was OK, was really lacking flavor and fresh ingredients, like okra. Oysters, I have had fresher, in Dallas I may add. The service has always been pretty slow here, that is pretty authentic of New Orleans but I doubt the servers are from there.

Never have had Cajun food before and stopped by for lunch with a few friends from work. Had the Crawfish Ettouffee with a side of red beans. Loved the meal and there were plenty of crawfish. Would definitely come again

Having grown up in the Big Easy, and returning there on a regular basis for business I am always looking for my NOLA home cooking. This place is as close as you can get in Dallas to that dream. Sure they have all the fried favorites you would expect, Fish, Shrimp, Crab, Gator, and more but the charcoal broiled oysters are as close as eating them at Drago’s. For those of you who are not familiar with Drago’s in NOLA three words, «best damn oysters» in town. The happy hour here is great… Strong drinks, Great food, not a lot of money. «ENJOY.»

Dodies New Orleans Seafood café is a place that I would never think in a million years to actually go to, but tonight was different. I was invited to check this place out out through a mutual friend and ventured into Lower Greenville avenue to pay this establishment a visit. Parking is very convenient and is available in both the front and the back. On appearance, it was nothing fancy and had a decent outside patio area. We chose to sit on the patio, the weather was great and they had wine and beer selections, this location does not serve hard drinks. I ordered the fried pickles which were ok but on the salty side and went with the seafood pasta for the main dish. The seafood pasta was really good. Initially, I thought it would be comparable to Papadeaux Mardi Gras Pasta, but it really wasn’t. It was good in its own way. I enjoyed the food, the location was great! Next time I will check out their other location with the rooftop deck and see how it goes. All in all, nothing special here just a good restaurant.

I have been coming to this location of Dodies since I first moved to Dallas over 20 years ago. Back then, there weren’t so many Cajun restaurants to choose from and they were the best. I always loved their boiled crawfish because you could taste all the flavors of the vegetables and seasoning, and it wasn’t just Spicy and salty like most places. In fact, they are the reason I started cooking my crawfish that way. I love mushrooms. Sautéed, fried, and especially stuffed. I’ve tried them at every restaurant I’ve been to that offers them and Dodie’s stuffed mushrooms are above and beyond, the best. They use a seafood stuffing, batter and fry them, and top them off with a creamy sauce. Every time I bite into them, it feels like I am tasting heaven. When I try a new Cajun restaurant, I usually start with the core foods, like gumbo, poboy, or maybe some red beans and rice. It’s been a long time since I’ve had theirs so I can’t review them, but at some point I tried this item on the menu called Softshell Crab Bienville. Have to drive. Will finish later.

Dodies has been here longer than most places on the block. Dodies is simple and straight forward. This location is the right size. It’s not too spacious and that keeps the service consistent. I’ve come to this location for a while. The staff is always friendly. It’s a great casual place to eat. One of the best things about this location is parking. There’s plenty of places that offer valet parking, this isn’t one of them. There’s parking out front and out back. I always order the gumbo. For some reason it’s a good balance for my taste buds. It’s not too soupy and it’s not to thick. A little splash of hot sauce and i’m a happy camper! This is also a hot spot to get craw fish. In the past I’ve been a fan of their craw fish, but the last couple times it hasn’t been the same. I think I’ve been swayed by another place I discovered. If you’re dining solo, you can find a friendly spot at the bar. There are plenty of locals just stopping in for a beverage and dinner.

Usually love Dodies but today the crawfish were terrible. I know it’s early on in season, but don’t charge guests $ 9/lb for crawfish you aren’t even able to eat because they’re so small and squishy. I probably couldn’t even eat one full lb and I got 3. Not worth $ 30.

We were hoping this would be a great spot to indulge in crawfish, but sadly we were disappointed. The crawfish was highly overcut as well as the shrimp. So disappointed in one of our favorite spots. Crawfish and Peel and Eat Shrimp fail!

I ate here last night and was pleasantly surprised. The house salad was tasty. I got the bbq shrimp and grits which I thoroughly enjoyed. My friend got the blackened shrimp tacos. I would definitely say to stop in here. It looks like hell from the outside but the food is a different story. Not the greatest beer selection, I must say.

Service was pretty good. The menu had a good variety of cajun dishes. I chose the seafood gumbo, crawfish étouffée and charbroiled oysters. Their seafood gumbo and was a little disappointing because it only had shrimp in it. The flavor was pretty good though. The étouffée was good and the oysters were okay. They definitely weren’t the best I’ve had, but they satisfied my craving.

I have dined at both«Dodie’s» on Greenville Avenue, and THISISTHEBETTERONE! I was a little hesitant to try this one out, since it is smaller and looks older… but that is because it is the original! And you can tell that it is family-run and owned by its welcoming atmosphere and fun, charming décor. Our group of three showed up 15 minutes before closing time and our waitress(I think she was the owner?) was so friendly and accommodated us anyways! The raw oysters were so fresh an delicious! We also ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were perfectly seasoned and fried. We were all fighting over the last piece! :) I also highly recommend the crawfish étouffée and fried crawfish tails. And their bread pudding is the BEST I HAVEEVERHAD. This restaurant truly deserves all 5 starts for amazing service, delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and reasonable prices. I will definitely be back!
