Great business I have been getting my oil changed from here for two years now and the service and staff are amazing!

I’ve been getting my oil changed here (among other random car repairs) for about 2 years. Friendly staff, always quick and they do a great job.

False advertising, that’s all you need to know about this business. They advertised a price for an oil change and as soon as I came in, they tried to tell me that I would owe more. Stay away from these guys, not the type of people you want to do business with.

VERY VERY VERY DISHONEST
when my college-​aged daughter went to have the 3^rd of 3 oil change voucher, she was told her SUV was in bad need of front pads and front rotors …$ 349.98+ tax. as she was on her way back to college the next day, I needed to get a 2^nd opinion FAST. found Specialty Brakes in oak cliff on
website. Drove out there. Owner Ed assured us both that ALL brakes and rotors were fine… no work needed. Later that same day, while in to pick up a replacement piece of trim, TownNorth Mazda performed a complimentary check on the brakes, tires and tranny fluid. TN report notes that both sets of front brakes are in good shape and the rear ones have 20−50K miles left on them.
so a brake specialist AND the MAZDA dealer are in agreement. I am sure both of these businesses would also have liked a $ 400 repair. But these 2 were honest and their findings agree.
truly disgusted that the EconoLube mechanic made my daughter feel so endangered. but now she has learned firsthand to always get a second opinion and not to trust brakes to a non-​brake specialist…

Do NOT go to this place. As one other reviewer mentioned, they will not honor any coupons unless you happen to be available the one hour a week they decide they want to take them (which is never during lunch hours or on weekends). Expect an attitude and rudeness, too.

Went to get my oil changed. I had used the service next door to get my car inspected and they were great so I decided to give this place a chance. They told me my car needed a 60k mile work-​up and we went through the pricing very thoroughly. Then at the end there was a bonus $ 20 charge because my car is a «special model». I drive a toyota. I told the guy that was unacceptable and he started swearing that he had told me the price and I must have forgotten. As I was leaving one of his workers asked if I was overcharged. Apparently it happens all the time.

Don’t bother with these idiots!!! They don’t even know their own days of operation when they book appointments. I called on a Monday for an oil change and they said that the next time they had available was at 8am on Friday. I thought oh cool they are open on the morning of the 4^th of July holiday. NOPE! I get up at 7 am to get there on time and they have the place shut down with closed for the 4^th sign. REALLY??? You couldn’t call me to let me know? Or how about you don’t schedule appointments that day???
Give your money to another shop. I recommend Eagle Transmission on Inwood they have always been honest and RELIABLE!
If you buy one of there passes, don’t call the number listed on the form, use their real number. I pretty sure they are TRYING to get you to not come in, like others have said.

I would highly recommend NOT buying their coupon book/​page with the three oil changes. Ever since my wife bought this thing many months ago it has been a pain in my A$$. They sure do their best at this place to not honor the coupon oil changes, or should I say: If you buy it expect them to make it difficult and inconvenient to get the services you already paid for done. I guess they had already spent that money and are looking for new business through the door with cash in hand.

Unfortunately, they ripped me off, as is clear they do to many people based on every other review site. They told me a whole bunch of stuff that needed replacing and changing. Unfortunately for them, I got my inspection done 2 days ago so I knew they were being dishonest. I confronted the owner and as I call him dishonest his own staff member behind him was nodding and met me outside to tell me he does this all the time! Wow.

as others have stated… avoid this place at all cost… they are total scam artist!

Owner is awful. Doubled my quote for made up crap about my car. I had him stop the oil change midway.

Couldn’t agree more with the other bad reviews of this place. Only wish I checked out Unilocal before I took my car in for an oil change. I confronted Tim, the manager, and told him I thought he was ripping me off. He of course denied it. I’m tempted to go back and ask for a refund.

BEWARE, BEWARE. There are a LOT of bad reviews for this place. Wish I had seen them before I took my 09 Honda civic in two days ago for repair. Picked it up later that day and parted with $ 1500 for new a/​c compressor, water pump, timing belt, new battery, etc. The next morning it was completely dead. they came and jumped it off and said I must have left a light on. I didn’t think so but drove it to work. Went to start it after work and completely dead again. To cut to the chase, I’ve had it jumped off FIVE times in the last two days. Took it in today and they got it working. Picked it up and A/​C doesn’t blow cold. Taking it back tomorrow. Now after reading reviews here and other sites by people who feel they were taken advantage of I regret ever taking my car there. Who knows if it needed $ 1500 of work done? If I can just get it fixed after paying all this money, I will NEVER go back.

I’ve taken my SUV here a couple times and have to say that the service and care is EXCELLENT! They bring you out to your car after they inspect it and show you exactly what needs to be done, if anything, and show you your oil, filters, breaks etc. it makes me feel SO much better than most shops that just tell you to «take their word for it» if something needs to be fixed. I will continue to take my car here and appreciate the great service I always receive.

I’ve taken my car here a few times, mostly for the student discount, and it seems every few times I go in they rip me off. Well the last time I went in was the final straw. I took my car in for a basic oil change. They claimed I needed synthetic oil. I swear they ripped me off because I’m a woman and don’t know anything about cars, so they can get away lying to my face. I know they lied because I did some research after and talked to my father and turns out my car does NOT need synthetic oil. I was livid because it cost $ 80 and that was WITH the discount. I questioned the guy on whether I really needed the synthetic stuff, I used my skeptical voice and raised my eyebrows and did the whole bit, and he made up some story about how last time I came in they gave me the synthetic oil but didn’t charge me for it so now the poor guy was in trouble with management for not charging me. Oh boo hoo — LIES. Unfortunately, I was not 100% sure on whether I did in fact need synthetic oil or not (it’s a new car) so I didn’t call him out right there. I kind of want to go back for my next oil change just so I can yell at them. DO NOT GO THERE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN!!!

It may be dingy looking, but the service is great and I really like all of the employees. All are super nice and you don’t feel like they are trying to scam you. Or constantly asking to replace your air filter, like most garages do.
I don’t take my car anywhere else for an oil change!
