While looking for a happy hour with above average bar food, I hit happy hour at Eddie Vs on the advice of the Unilocal talk board. Man it did not disappoint. A variety of $ 7 cocktails including big ol martinis and wines by the glass, and a wide range of menu items ranging from $ 1-$ 16. I knocked out a dozen gulf oysters for a buck a piece, lobster and crab wontons packed full of shellfish for 8 bucks, the beef tenderloin banh mi sliders also for $ 8, 2 kinds of roast oysters for $ 7, and one of the best crab cakes you’ll ever have for $ 16. It’s basically all lump crab with a crispy panko topping. After too many martinis I decided to splurge on the deep fried lobster tail. Great but I really didn’t need it. Next time I’d stick to a «normal“lobster tail. So yea my bill was not cheap but I came prepared and expecting to spend some dough. The atmosphere, service, and quality of everything make this place totally worth spending some extra $$. Will return.

Had not been here in a few years, the food was good, the service pleasant, … But the clientele was the most horrible… Low class trash I have seen in a long time, no longer a place for locals.

My husband and I went to Eddie V’s tonight as a ‘last’ date night before our baby girl arrives. We cannot say enough about the service, food, vibe and everything in between. Our server Jackie was amazing and we even had two managers come over to tell us congratulations on our soon to be new addition to our family. Also, everything we ordered was great! We cannot wait to go back for our first date night after the little one arrives. We have been to most upscale restaurants in Dallas and this just became our number 1!!! Thank you Eddie V’s for making this night so special for us!

Please allow me to be critical here and super honest: Now I am from the gulf coast and I feel that I know seafood well and I am very accustomed to highly seasoned food, BUT their food is overly rich and buttery. The lobster bisque had a great taste, but it tasted like it had a ton of butter in it and I couldn’t finish it, especially when it got luke warm, I put it aside quickly. The fried crab rice was wayyy too salty and the gulf stuffed shrimp was just over priced for those few shrimp. I also had a crab cake, it was very good. I was impressed with that. The live band they have… Ummm meh. The POSITIVE: free valet and amazing service. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was so attentive. She knew when I was finished eating and knew when my drink wasn’t good to me without me saying anything! Their happy hour is good with many options for $ 7. My first experience was decent. The atmosphere is very mature. Its dark in there and cool feeling so I can see someone having a romantic dinner there. Its very clean and they have a television at the bar to watch sports after work and have a drink. I can see myself giving this place another try one day.

I truly like this place. The waiters are very attentive and make great suggestions for dinner and wine. Tried the Chilean sea bass and was amazed. I’ve never had a sea bass so soft and tender. Paired with the crab fried rice… Heavenly. The whole experience was great. I gave 5 stars for this restaurant, but I’m going to give a one star for our dining neighbors. The young is so obnoxious these days. If you know you are not a fish eater; don’t come and ruin everyone’s experience by trying«the FISH» and then making gagging and vomiting noises! I lost my appetite after that horrid display. The good thing is that I was already at the end of my meal with my awesome s’mores dessert! Will definitely come back.(Hopefully with more courteous and well-mannered dining neighbors.)

We first enjoyed Eddie V’s while traveling in Tampa and so when visiting Dallas, we saw one here as well and just had to try it — they definitely didn’t disappoint! The service, food and fair prices(for such a hi-end seafood and steaks) will keep us coming back in every city we visit where there is an Eddie V’s! We made reservations for dinner, but came early to enjoy some happy hour first in the bar. We enjoyed ourselves so much in the bar(comfy seats, great scene and incredible bartenders), that we ended up staying there and enjoyed dinner while in the bar. The bartender knew the menu inside and out, as well as the preparation of the meals. He also knew quite a bit about the great drinks and wine he was selling and could answer any question we tossed at him. They offer such an incredible selection of fish, chops and seafood appetizers! The prices are VERY fair on the happy hour menu as well. Their crab fried rice is outstanding! The fried oysters, also outstanding and nicely seasoned. If you like shrimp cocktail, give theirs a try, the atomic horseradish is AMAZING! Bottom line — we can’t wait to go back… You should give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

I had very high hopes for this restaurant considering it’s prestigious and classy presentation. Valet is complementary, friendly and even offer umbrellas if it’s raining. We were greeted promptly with a smile, and we were even seated right away(at the bar) provided that it was Mother’s Day. The crab cake was absolutely delicious. The Texas redfish was amazing and very flavorful. The broccolimi were perfectly stained and had a good chunk of Parmesan cheese on it. The Seabass was good but just tasted like it was swimming in soy sauce, which isn’t bad but isn’t fabulous either. The most disappointing experience here was the crème brûlée. They dared to bring it out completely burned on top! We had to ask for them to remake it and then they came out and didn’t cook the sugar on top long enough. How exactly do you get that wrong? I asked for the chocolate dessert and coffee, but then the waitress came back and said it wouldn’t be ready until dinner time :/ Unfortunately the experience with total wait time and the dessert was not good, not to mention we had to wait 15 minutes for it.

Eddie V’s has always been the fiancé and I’s favorite special occasion restaurant. But the service here is outstanding from the Houston and Austin locations we’ve dined in the past. They greeted me by name when I first came in and when I left. A manager came by during our meal to check on us on well. Though I was a bit confused on who our server was. We had two different servers throughout our meal but nonetheless they were both great! Their seafood chopped salad and truffle mac and cheese are my favorite things to order. But you really can’t go wrong with anything here. Valet is complimentary as well!

Loving the lounge area for a romantic setting or hh with girlfriends! I was there on a Sunday afternoon and they had a piano player… very dim lighting and relaxing ambience. It really set the tone for a great meal. I enjoyed my shrimp and grits with poached egg on top. There were a few hiccups with the service but the food made up for it. You could tell the seafood was fresh and my grits were just like mama makes at home! Wash it all down with a mimosa and you are good to go. Great wine list as well and decent prices for the quality of food that you get. Utilize the valet parking if you don’t want to get towed. I enjoyed this place overall, I’ve heard good things but they do have some kinks to work out with their brunch. I’ll have to come back around dinner time and see what their steak is all about.

This is the first time to eat here. Located on a busy street and provided complimentary valet parking. The ambience is romantic, smooth, nice and the booth(we sat) is really cozy for little family. My Mom ordered filet mignon and she loves it. I had George Bank scallops that came out decorative and tasty. My husband loves sea-bass so he got it accompanied with arugulas mushroom salad and he loved it. As suggested by friends, I also ordered Crab fried rice and it was delicious. My baby had truffle mac-n-cheese. Our waitress is helpful, dedicated. The manager, Ben walks around and makes sure all guesses are happy with what they had order. Eddie V from now on will be on our list for any family/friends events. Thank you so much for providing such a good food, nice ambience and professional staff. 2 thumbs up.

Well, I may have found a new favorite happy hour place. Can’t believe I’ve never been to Eddie V’s Dallas when I live so close. Sit at the bar and if you’re lucky enough to have Chris B serve you then you’re in luck! He has the best personality and seems to treat all patrons like they are the only ones sitting at the bar without being overly talkative. He’s great! Eddie V’s Happy Hour is all day on Sunday & Monday. Tues-Sat 4−7pm and consists of beverage and food discounts. It’s amazing! The food is spectacular! So far I’ve tried the Louisiana oysters, tartare of pacific ahi tuna, jumbo lump crab cake(twice) and point judith calamari. The tuna tartare was a little spicy for our taste but Chris gladly removed from our bill. A couple other people were saying the same thing so it may have been that one night. I would try it again because the tuna was so fresh if they cut back on the spicy seasoning. Everything else was absolutely delicious. One of the best crab cakes and calamari dishes I’ve ever had. I highly recommend you check out any Eddie V’s if you’re able to. Great staff, amazing food and drinks and live music. What else do you need… :)

I have been here a few times and every time, service has been awesome. The ambience is classy and romantic, both in the dining area and the bar. Dining in the bar area is a treat, because they usually have live music. I’ve ordered different things over the years, but the menu items that really stood out were the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Maine Lobster Tacos, Maine Lobster and Shrimp Bisque, Jumbo Gulf Shrimp, and the Filet Mignon. All of these were absolutely delicious, I cannot pick a favorite! The seafood items did not have any«fishy» taste and the restaurant was not skimpy on the ingredients. This place is great for celebrating special occasions.

The best place to start any review is with what was ordered for our meal at our table! Several of us ordered the Filet mignon, the 8 oz center cut, Scottish salmon, lobster bisque(OMG delicious), asparagus with hollandaise sauce, the best and most delicious truffled macaroni and cheese, which I personally would have eaten as a main course because it was that darn good. And the iceberg BLT which was disappointing because the presentation was sloppy. Anybody can cut a head of lettuce into a quarter and stick two pieces of limp bacon on top. However, it was still good and I would not let looks deter me or any of my friends from eating! Usually, I don’t order desert just because I never seem to have enough room after the main course. My friends had plenty of room and we ate hot chocolate Godiva lava cake, crème brûlée, chocolate mousse, sorbet and ice cream. This is a desert orgasm! I highly suggest saving room for dessert it’s the one time you will be glad you did. The wait staff is super good and never let the glasses go dry. This always is an important part of dining. Never having to ask for a refill! If you enjoy food and don’t mind spending a little bit more to get a fantastic experience then it will be well worth your investment. Ohh I did I mention they have great live music?

Atmosphere was okay! Our waiter dropped the wine glass of our table, brought a new one! Filet was okay, red fish was good! We couldn’t order dessert Bc the management didn’t order enough blueberries and they were out!!! Ridiculous for a high end restaurant to be out of a dessert item knowing valentines weekend is a big deal!

My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary and were highly disappointed. The valet service was nice on the way in however the hosts were rude when checking in for our reservation. We stated it was our anniversary when making the reservation and were a little shocked to be sat in a loud area next to the bar with live music starting halfway through our dinner. Our server was pleasant for the most part — however he should practice keeping knives away from guests faces when bussing the table. The staff often looked lost in our section. Food was good, but the service and experience aspect lack drastically.

When it comes to dining, especially on a weekend, I’ve learned by sad experience that reservations are a must. If a joint doesn’t offer reservations, then simply count me out. I don’t care if it is the hottest damn place in town, promises cuisine that Tony Bourdain raves about, or offers a chance that you could grab a selfie with Owen Wilson; if a reservation option isn’t available, I’d rather take my chances at Panda Express. I’ve always been in awe of folks who actually boast about waiting in line for over three hours at a trendy joint with a buzz. To me, that’s like bragging about one’s latest lobotomy. Call me a geezer. Brand me as a shut-in. I don’t care — but when I’m looking for a restaurant, I’m going for a joint that offers a solid and reliable menu, great ambience, and yes — you guessed it, a place that offers and honors its reservations. And that’s why you can find me with some regularity at Eddie V’s. Sure, it’s a chain restaurant, but it’s as close as you can find as being an «unchain chain» restaurant.(I made that up all by myself.) EV’s offers an upscale ambience, a trendy lounge area, a solid, never-miss menu, and they’ve ALWAYS honored my reservation request. I’ve never heard, «Oh, Mr. Gustavo, your table will be ready shortly. Please go stand in our bar area for an hour or two and have a martini or three and we’ll call you when your table is ready.» And, what’s even better, they’ve always met my table request. Priceless. So next time you’re looking for some upper-end seafood or steak and don’t want to cool your heels for an hour, book a reservation at Eddie V’s. And you never know, you might actually get a selfie with Owen after all.

I came here on a Friday night with my fiancé to celebrate our anniversary. I’ve been to the one in Fort Worth for Mother’s Day, but this was my first time at their location in Dallas. We made reservations beforehand and my fiancé had told them that we were celebrating our anniversary. We took advantage of the complimentary valet parking and were immediately seated by the hostess. The first thing I noticed when I entered was the décor. It was very mordern and romantic inside. They have a lounge area where they have happy hour and live music. We were seated in an area that allowed us to hear some of the piano music coming from the lounge. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a half dozen oysters, crab cake, shrimp and crab salad, chowder soup, sea bass, and the swordfish. They also serve you bread, which was super hard and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I knew from my previous visit to Eddie V in Fort Worth that this place has amazing seafood, so everything we ordered had seafood in it. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The waitress asked us if we wanted them to split the salad and soup and we said yes. The soup and salad portions were great, not too small and not too large. The crab cake was probably some of the best I’ve ever had. It was stuffed full of crab, and really all you could taste was the crab. The sea bass melted in my mouth and the fiancé loved his swordfish steak. The service here is superb. Our drinks were always full and after each course was served, the waitress checked up on us to make sure everything was to our liking. The manager also stopped by our table and thanked us for coming in. He told us that dessert was on the house since it was our anniversary. We got their bananas foster that said«Happy Anniversary» and they set it on fire at the table. It was a really tasty dessert. I’d also highly recommend their panna cotta for dessert. It’s nice and light in comparison to the banana foster. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Wow. Came here with high expectations only to be disappointed in the food. Service? Outstanding. Food? Ordered the lobster tacos and they came with a strong fish smell. Halibut? Okay. But just not what one expects from a seafood restaurant. Was it an off night? Maybe. But I’d say keep looking.

This place, as proven with its years of standing, is a solid«go to» for special occasions(and the lounge is pretty cool too”. It has withstood the test(albeit a few short years) of time in Dallas where you are either good enough or you go out of business quickly. Now, for our birthday meal. In summary: 1. 2 reasonably priced(~$ 85/ea) bottles of Pinot noir 2. Appetizers: Lobster tacos Dozen gulf oysters(raw) Calamari All memorable but calamari is a must order 3. Dinners: 2x sole Salmon Seabass All perfectly cooked. No send backs or complaints. 4. Sides: Mac n cheese Fried rice Both are staples and must orders. 5. Dessert: Birthday bananas foster with ice cream(gratis) All in all Avery memorable and delicious meal. Service was great all around. We had a 7:15 reservation and we showed up at 6:55 without full party and they allowed us to sit at our table without issue. We stayed until 10(about 30 mins after meal completed) without issue. Highly recommend for a delicious, well-served, and enjoyable meal.

Definitely a ‘special occasion’ spot due to the price. The surf and turf was fantastic… truly to die for… both steak and lobster were perfectly cooked. The crab cakes appetizer wasn’t my favorite, but pretty good for a land locked location. My salmon entrée was maybe a weak 4. It was good, but not good enough for me to order again on a return visit.

We had a wonderful time on 12-27-2015. Our servers were awesome. I had the tomahawk rib eye. It was aged 100 days and it was pretty darn good. My wife had a sea bass, crab and scallops in a wine sauce. I also had the largest twice baked potato in the universe! My wife found a bit of shell in her crab and the servers and management took care of it immediately! Amazing service! Some of the best ever! We then went to the lounge to listen to live music. They were great ! We had Godiva chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream and a great red wine to accompany it. I highly suggest everyone visit this great establishment!

Yes… Eddie V’s is worthy of a 5 star. Great atmosphere and excellent food. The Lump Crab cake’s are delicious. The Lobster and Shrimp Bisque… I could eat that all day. The Swordfish was perfectly cooked and with the crab meat with avocado, on top, in a works so well together. I sampled the au gratin potatoes, the twice baked potatoes, and the asparagus. All were fantastic. One of the best deserts that I have had in a while was their Bananas Foster. So great! Atmosphere is excellent and the service is fantastic. Will be back. Stay hungry my friends…

While in town for a Cowboys game came to Eddie V’s for a birthday dinner. Service was excellent with both servers and the manager(I think his name was Keith) providing superb service. The lump crab with avocado was fresh and tasty and not overpowered by fillers. We both had the bone in fillet and I added a side of scallops to mine. My medium on the nine fillet was cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth tender. Sautéed spinach was okay. Great flavor but a little heavy on the salt. The drinks were strong and made just the way I like them. For desserts he manager sent over the banana fosters dessert flambé table side. It was decadent and the perfect ending to a delicious meal. The manager was exceptional checking on us throughout our meal and even recommended several places for us to visit after dinner.

I took Marcus here to celebrate his 29th birthday. I made a last minute reservation and was able to get a table with no problem. We arrived a little early to partake in the happy hour at the bar. We both ordered martinis: lemon drop for me and dirty for him. After our drinks, we were led to our table. Our server was really friendly. Honestly, all of the staff were very pleasant and willing to accommodate. At the table, Marcus was given a card signed by the owner and staff wishing him a Happy Birthday. Such a thoughtful gesture. I ordered the salmon and Marcus ordered the sautéed red fish. Both dishes were huge! My salmon was grilled to perfection and Marcus’ fish had amazing flavor. For side dishes we ordered the truffled mac and cheese and the crab fried rice. Needless to say we had more than enough food. The mac and cheese was my absolute favorite. I couldn’t get enough of it! The manager came by and spoke with us briefly and then sent out their famous bananas foster as a complimentary dessert for Marcus’ birthday. Actually, the bananas foster was my favorite :) It was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The impeccable service and amazing food will definitely bring us back.

I would love to give this a five but we had a bit of an attitude from our server that was off putting. Look, dude, you’re my server and I’ve eaten my way around. Let’s get things straight. We are chill foodies and he was pretty condescending. We seafood at every coastal port you can think of… I don’t need a snarky lesson. However the food was perfect. That you can expect but there’s no huge innovations here, these are dishes meant to highlight the flavor of the fish(and rightly so). The manager’s officiousness offset any bad feelings about the server. So far so good, one visit here, three in FW. Good vibes both places, though the FW location was«friendlier». We live in both cities so it’s interesting to compare the two.

We ordered the Maine lobster and shrimp bisque that was absolutely exquisite! The Fuji Apple salad was full of flavors tugging you from sweet to tart overwhelmed by the freshness of it all! It had apples, deep rich black cherries, maytag blue cheese, candied walnuts, beets and crisp greens. Next, the truffled macaroni and cheese! O. M. G!!! A must have! As well as the crab fried rice! Our entrees blew me away too! I had the special, which was snapper, with miso and soba noodles while my hubby had the swordfish steak with a fresh and tangy garnish that perfectly accented the swordfish. Dessert was mind blowing as well! We had the hot bananas foster butter cake. The the sweet liqueur and bread pudding like concoction was a buttery blissfulness while the butter pecan ice cream put the sizzle out! Now I don’t like pecan ice-cream, but this creamy goodness was to die for! The presentation of the dessert by itself, made the trip well worth stuffing myself to the extreme! What a memorable occasion!

Wife and I stopped by here after the Kevin Hart’s show in downtown at around 10:30p.m. We’ve always wanted to come by here and this was a good opportunity to check the place out. First impression: Restaurant is clean, staff attentive, and the place is vibrant for a late Friday night. There were only a couple of empty tables and a 4-man band was playing some nice tunes. We were seated in a reserved table right next to the band playing. The Dinner menu is extensive, they got the Oyster Bar, Appetizers, second course, main courses, Prime classics, premium hand cut steaks, side dishes, Eddie’s sides, etc. The price is on the high end, but they do have some items that are affordable. For drinks, we had the: $ 10 — Glass of Jacob’s Creek, Reserve, Barossa, 2012 $ 10 — 24 Karat sparkling cocktail For appetizers/sides: $ 9 — Crab and Corn Chowder with smoked bacon, potatoes and sweet corn $ 12 — Crab Fried Rice with Mushrooms and Scallions For the main meal: $ 30 — North Atlantic Lemon Sole Parmesan Crust with Tomato and Herb Salad, Lemon Garlic Butter 3 — This was delicious $ 54 — 8 oz Filet Mignon, Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Truffled Madeira Sauce* –This was heaven! For Dessert: $ 8 Panna Cotta — Italian dessert of sweetened cream thickened with gelatine and moulded. — This was really good. Overall, great experience dining here. Be prepared to spend quite a bit, a lot of the good stuff are oriced $ 30 and above a plate, but the food is worth it. We had to come back 10 minutes after we left after wife realized that she had left her small purse under the table we were dining on. When we arrived back, the lady at the front desk immediately said they had found the purse and kept is safely and handed it back to us to our relief. We will definitely come back.

We came here for Restaurant Week to see what this restaurant had to offer. One of our friends was running late so we hung out at the bar area for happy hour while waiting for her. While here, we ordered the crab cake and fried oysters. The crab cake was AWESOME! It was a huge thick patty that is probably like 95% crab. I’m not sure how it even held the round shape because as you slice into it, it sorta falls apart. It tastes very good and the tartar sauce complements it very well. The fried oysters on the other hand were not that great. It was extremely tangy and the batter was a bit too thick for me, I could hardly taste the oyster. On top of all that, it came with cucumber and cilantro… it was basically like a fried oyster banh mi lol… When we finally sat down at our tables, we ordered several things from the RW menu including calamari, lobster bisque, filet mignon medallions with shrimp scampi, crem brulee, bananas foster and chocolate mousse. The calamari was a bit too chewy, definitely not one of the better calamaris I’ve had. The lobster bisque had a few lobster chunks in it, which was good but the soup itself was very creamy and not lobster-y. It tasted like a good tomato basil soup. For our entrée, the filet mignon was nice and tender. Out of our 3 orders, 2 were cooked the proper medium rare, however, one of it was very undercooked. It was basically just seared. Our server hardly checked on us but when he finally came, my friend tried to return her steak to get cooked a bit more. He responded by asking if she doesn’t like medium rare and she said she does, but this was a bit too pink. He then rudely responded that this was a perfect medium rare but *he guesses… he can ask them to cook it more* WHAT?! that was so rude! I’ve never had someone respond like this before. definitely not happy about that. Anyways, about the dish, the filet was tender and flavorless, thank goodness for the sauce the shrimp scampi came with! there was only 3 pieces of shrimp over it though, pretty sad but I guess that was better than nothing. For dessert, the crem brulee was pretty good, but about the same as any other place’s, nothign special. The bananas foster had a lot of potential, but it was soo sickly sweet we could hardly enjoy it. The pecan ice cream that it came with was very good though! I wonder if it’s homemade or if not, I would love to buy a pint of that for home hehe. The chocolate mousse looked disgusting when they served it. it was like melted ice cream, probably the worst presentation I have ever seen, and the taste did not save it either. it was extremely bitter! Overall experience for this place was pretty terrible. This was probably the most rude server I’ve ever had, he constantly kept making rude remarks throughout dinner. Not sure if its because we were on the RW menu or what but he definitely did not want a good tip! As far as the food, nothing was really impressive except for the crab cakes, I will be back for that. on happy hour!

I’ve been here twice now and this is my new stop first thing when I get into Dallas. The oysters are fresh, I enjoy sitting at the raw bar, it’s away from the music so it’s not so loud. Watching the help shuck the oysters is pretty fun. The Chilean Sea Bass is awesome! It is simply the best I’ve ever had. It’s very light and flaky, almost like white butter. It sits on spinach and ginger in a broth with soy sauce. I like to cut it into smaller pieces and let it absorb some of the brother before devouring it. I have also gotten the Truffled Mac and Cheese a couple of times and it’s very tasty as well!

Awesome: Service Lobster Tacos — Seriously… order them Crab Fried Rice Scallops Blackberry Cobbler Average: Steak :( Bad: NOTHING! I wish there was a way to give 4.5 stars on here. This place nearly won me over for the full sha-bang bang(perfect stardom) however there was only one negative here which I will mention later. Myself and a group of 8 others dined there 4÷29÷15 around 8PM in the private dining area. I was very glad for that as they were very busy and it was fairly noisy in the main dining. We were immediately taken back to the space and greeted by our great server Jonathan. He handled our loud guys very well and directed attention as needed. We started with the Lobster Tacos(holy crapola… yum) as well as the cold shellfish appetizer. Both were very good and presented nicely. I ordered the filet oscar style with two scallops on the side. Not on the menu but they were nice enough to put it together for us. We did the au gratin potatoes, mac, asparagus, and crab fried rice as sides. The fried rice was also amazing! The steak was the only thing that was not up to standard. Two of my other team mentioned that their steak was not very good either. It tasted overcooked and bland but was still medium-rare…confusing. For dessert, our server brought us(5) of their top desserts and the table loved them. We had a great time at Eddie V’s and will definitely return. Beautiful interior and friendly hostesses as well as beautiful bathrooms.

I’ve came here several times for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries. They usually have a live band on the evenings that I’ve been. So it adds a great vibe to the ambiance. The last time we went for anniversary on a Tuesday we were able to catch their happy hour since it ends at 7. Drinks and appetizers were delicious. There was a good selection to choose from. Oysters were $ 1 each, too bad they were gulf oysters. We also tried their lobster and beef tartar appetizers, the bread they served it with was super good! Thin but chewy and buttery. When we got to our table, they had red rose petals laid out in our table with a «happy anniversary» card signed by the staff! A really thoughtful and nice touch! We got the bone in sirloin steak and the huge tomahawk steak that has been ages for several days. Steaks were cooked and seared perfectly. Be sure to get the truffle Mac and cheese, one of the best in town! And of course, another thoughtful gesture, they gave use complementary banana fosters.

Celebrating big with a steak dinner for the birthday guy we shared our first experience with Eddie V’s. The service was excellent; attentive and friendly. I was less impressed by the meal. Not all was the fault of the kitchen. I ordered the Louisiana Red Fish sautéed with fresh lump crab, meuniere style not asking for clarification on the nature of the sauce. It either overpowered the fish or the fish didn’t have enough flavor to stand up to the sauce; either way it just wasn’t a satisfying dish. My dining companion found the 16oz New York Strip enjoyable enough to eat; but, the comment later was that for a ‘medium’ request, it was a bit overdone. Also overcooked was the ramekin of Truffle Mac & Cheese. The side of Spinach Sauté with Garlic was as good as can be expected, but not exceptional. The star of the meal –that pulled this rating to 3(the ‘cowboy elegant’ décor also helped) — was the Point Judith Calamari. Served over crisp noodles, so tender and wonderfully flavored Kung Pao style. I would return just for this dish… and the Godiva Lava Cake! The meal was saved. I didn’t realize Eddie V’s is a chain(albeit highend) restaurant. In general, I think the food suffers from its mass production formula. Next time I surprise someone with a dinner I hope will truly be a special event, I’ll dig deeper in research and book an independent location.

YUMMY! I’ve been to the Fort Worth location multiple times, and have always been impressed with the seafood I’ve had. I haven’t had seafood in a while, so I was really craving lobster bisque– so I decided I’d take my partner and I here for dinner after a long work week. We made reservations and everything went smoothly, seated right on time. This location is huge, bigger than the one in Fort Worth. They also have a reception room for private party’s. The service here is always excellent and top notch, the waiter we had was very knowledgeable of the different items and specials for the night; and was helpful for wine choices to pair with your meal. To start, I had the lobster bisque and my partner started with a salad the waiter recommended; arugula with mushrooms, onion and goat cheese. Wow that salad was the bomb, the goat cheese made it just that much better. My bisque I had was delicious and creamy, with nice bites of lobster meat; if only it had more:(but it did not disappoint. For my entrée, I went with the swordfish steak– I wanted to try something different than what I’ve had previously(halibut, cod). I’ve never had swordfish before and I really enjoyed this one. It’s got a much more firm texture opposed to other fishes which are really flakey. It was delicious, and it came with lump crab meat and avocado. The lump crab meat was delicious, and everything tied together so well. My partner isn’t too big of a fan of seafood, so he ordered the filet mignon. Although Eddie vs is known for their seafood, the steak was delicious! My partner really enjoyed it and the bite I had I really liked also. For sides, we decided to be carb heavy and got the truffle Mac n cheese and twice baked potatoe. My favorite by far was the Mac n cheese — oh so yummy; I could eat that as my entire meal. Previous times I’ve been I had the crab fried rice — which is also delicious. If you want top quality seafood with outstanding service, this is a place to check out!
