Groupon on hand and with empty stomach, here we come! We were supposed to go to this place the day after thanksgiving to support local. For some reason we didn’t end up here that day and today was our only chance. We start it off with a dozen fried oyster. It came out pipping hot and fresh. The batter is light and you can taste the oysters inside it. Next, we had Crab cake burger with fries and basket of catfish with fries as well. Everything came out looking nice and fresh. The fries were blah but the fish and crab cake were good. The thing that really stood out was the oysters. If we are in the area, we would definitely stop by for a cold brew and have more fried oysters.

Place seems cool. At first, you cant help but notice how bright the place is. Their electric bill must cost a fortune. So we went in. Service is not necessarily full service. You get your own drinks and sauces, pay at the counter when finished. I dont think they expect 20 percent on that. Thats fine. The food? For the most part, its excellent. The«fish» in the fish n chips isnt so good. The stuffed crabs, fried oysters and scallops were delicious! Wow. I was tempted to order more but did not. The place is on groupon, so we got a helluva discount. I dont think these prices or portion size are out of this world, but I enjoyed it. Not sure I would drive across town to go there again though.

Had the oyster large platter. Oysters were so small that the breading covered any taste. It appeared that they cut oysters into thirds and called one-third of an oyster one for the platter

This place was really just okay. In some cases not even okay. Atmosphere would be allot better at night if the lighting was so ghastly bright also. They are nice enough, and some of their dishes are okay(gumbo pretty good) but their fails are really fails. Don’t ever order the Tuna. Absolutely Awful. I think if you stick with the Cajun/Louisiana oriented dishes you are better off.

My friend loves this place so I was excited to eat here, but I wasn’t at all impressed. First of all the restaurant was HOT. It was pretty cool outside, but inside was I went during lunch and ordered blackened shrimp. It was ok, but what they don’t tell you on the menu is that half of the meal is vegetables(which wouldn’t be as much of a problem if I actually liked veggies in the first place) the waiter came by twice the whole time and never did after we got our food so I couldn’t say anything about it.

Decent enough but really lacking if you like true Cajun food. I’ve been here twice and both times it was always lacking. The fair is mostly fried and lacking some spice. This last trip we decided to get the oysters on the half shell and the peel and eat shrimp. The oysters were preshucked and kept under ice. We watched the lady tale them from under the ice and run them under water before putting them on the tray. My favorite part of fresh oysters are that they are fresh and the liquor that she rinsed away. Completely flavorless and the condiments were weak sauce to. No burn in the horseradish and no kick in the cocktail. The peel and eat shrimp were good. Fresh and of ample size. I could tell they were gulf shrimp too and not from south east Asia like most places serve. Ordered the spicy and they were just the regular lightly dusted with the Cajun spice. It had no impact on the flavor. Would rather had saved my money and made them myself. Overall this place just doesn’t bring the flavor, quality, or spice one would hope for. Won’t be going back.

Proceed with caution. We stopped by Aug 30th around 8:45pm and ordered 6 raw oysters a glass of wine soft drink and 2 combo plates with catfish. Let me say that I’ve eaten here many times and while it’s not the best(and it’s gone alittle down hill as of late) we have never had a bad experience here until that day. The oysters came out and were good. But the catfish was spoiled rotten. When I let them know about it they didn’t offer to make a replacement and only removed 1 of the 2 combo’s from the bill? I found that odd but didn’t make a big deal about it because we just won’t be back. Too many other good places to have to deal with that. Did I mention the ceiling was leaking that day but It wasn’t raining? Done…

I swung in here one afternoon with a friend for a late lunch and left rather disappointed. I got a lunch special, so the price was really quite low(under $ 8,) but you get what you pay for. I got the stuffed crab and thought that the meal was a bit heavy on the stuffing and light on the crab. My friend got the butterflied shrimp, which was a similar price but also a little bit small on the portion size(only 4 shrimp). Both meals included a side of your choice as well. The seasonal vegetables were excellent and the fries were standard fare. Nevertheless, the prices were good and our waitstaff was kind. This isn’t going to be a high society restaurant but it is a solid casual place. If you’re in the area and are craving sea food, stop by but order wisely; however, if you’re looking for excellent sea food, there are some better joints to check out.

Cold pitcher of beer, good. Food was good. We got the Seafood platter & shared. It was a lot of food. Maybe three people could share it. And it was really good. It wasn’t phenomenal but it was good quality for the price it was. Seat yourself. Get your own drinks. Nice place.

I finally had the chance to stop by this place and try it out, from the outside it visually looks appealing, but misleads you by thinking its bigger when in reality it has about 15 or so tables. Upon arriving, I was seated promptly, but I thought it was rather odd that the server sat me down. After which realizing they didn’t have a host or hostess available, I still kept an optimistic face. I ordered the Buffalo shrimp for my appetizer selection, and the Grilled Shrimp, veggies, and rice as my main course. Average acceptable wait time for seafood, and the overall vibe was pleasant for a Saturday afternoon. For the most part, it stayed full, with maybe only 1 or 2 tables available the whole time I was there. The buffalo shrimp were good, it didn’t give me the wow factor, something lacked. But overall it was good. The Grilled shrimp was very good, and with a touch of lime it made up for the buffalo shrimp. The veggies were freshly cooked and the rice was prepared in a neat fashion. I tried some of my girlfriend’s shrimp cocktail, and I kid you not, it was the best cocktail I ever had. I wish I had ordered myself one. The owner was very nice he stopped by our table and introduced himself and was very personable and funny. Which made me our dining experience that much more fun. Overall, I give a 3 star, they had some high points and low points, and I agree that there were some components lacking or missing. I would come back again for the cocktail! The menu is huge and there’s a lot to choose from, my curiosity would lead me back here to try and find some hidden«gold» dishes.

I have never been to a restaurant that decorates with food boxes stacked every where! I am from the Mississippi Gulf, and grew up with shrimp as a daily staple, and this place gives shrimp a bad name! we have tried several things, and I finally sent back the greasy shrimp over rice, touted as shrimp ettouffe! Yucky, ick, gross, and nasty! I am so sorry to have wasted time and money here. this is what I call a two-fer, 1st and last visit, all in one! Take it from a beach dweller, this is seafood@ it’s very worst!

The worst customer service. I literally sat at the table for 25 minutes and was not serviced.

Did not enjoy my lunch. I had the shrimp feast that was supposed to be three kinds of shrimp served with some fries and hush puppies. First, one very tiny hush puppy is a joke! Very misleading. Three different sized shrimp, all fried more or less exactly same flavor. The frying oil tasted old and couldn’t even finish the fries which were flavor less. Servers were polite but failed to let me know I had to get my own water or check after serving food of it was ok. Overall disappointed.

Because I didn’t kiss the cashier’s ass, she wouldn’t honor the $ 1 off the appetizers. She literally said that because I wasn’t polite enough that she was not going to give me the stated discount. There are several menus with different rules, so make sure you read them all. $ 1 doesn’t seem like a lot, but sometimes I order based on a deal I’m getting so what’s the point if it’s not applicable to what they say? The fried potato chips were decent, better than regular chips. The buffalo shrimp were too salty to enjoy beyond the first one. ETA: I got sick that night. I don’t think it was food poisoning, I think it was just low-quality food.

This used to be a fairly reliable little neighborhood place with a pretty good value for the money. In the last couple of months, it has taken a downhill turn. I usually get crab and it has gotten terrible. It looks old and sort of dirty or something. Just not good. The portions have also gotten smaller. The place is a little run-down and not super, extra clean, but it was reliably okay, even if I did have to get my own drink. Not anymore… just skip it. Tonight was my last try/their last chance and I’m bummed that it wasn’t good!

It is what it is. Dependable, independent dive with home-made fried seafood options. The food is certainly passable, but in no way outstanding, the service is just okay, but it is reliably mediocre and never tips to the bad side. My favorites? buffalo shrimp, shrimp salad, and the cocktails are all good. Hush puppies are a-ok as well.
