Overall, I was disappointed with Flaming Cheese Saganaki, especially given its high rating. I tried the Flaming Cheese Saganaki and the Olympic Platter. For my platter, I had the original gyros, broiled sausage, moussaka, tzatziki and pita. The Flaming Cheese Saganaki has a cool presentation as the server lights the cheese on fire before serving it. As a result, the cheese is hot and melty with a nice toasted crust. The cheese is pretty good, but a little on the salty side for me. The Olympic Platter is okay. The meats are dry and everything else on the platter is underwhelming.

Food was amazing! This is definitely a great place for a date or a family gathering. The portion sizes of the food is not too large but filling for dinner which is a plus. I recommend the flaming cheese with pita for an appezizer. Overall, everything from our waiter to the food was fantastic!

My partner and I ate here for lunch. I want to start this review with a disclaimer: I don’t know if I’ve ever tried authentic Greek cuisine nor do I know if Flaming Cheese falls into that category. We had Spanakopita as an appetizer which was buttery and not over cooked. My partner had the lamb Souvlaki Pita which he liked but wasn’t «wowed» by, and I had the lunch portion Moussaka(comes with a salad and pita) which I enjoyed. Both of us were filled by the portions provided. The servers were busy but nice, and the décor was cute with a lot of light entering from the many windows. I saw the flaming cheese appetizer/spectacle and it was entertaining. Both our meals with appetizer, soda and a tip came to about $ 23 which I think is reasonable. We definitely will be returning, and if the food and service is consistently satisfying then I plan on increasing their rating to 4 or 5 stars!

Love it. Fresh, flavorful and decently priced. I like their Greek salad and veg pita. Falafel is also good.

What a treat! Had lamb shank(on the bone), flaming cheese and baklava cheese cake — all were fantastic! Not too loud and very cozy place with nice interior and friendly people. Must come back!

I don’t see myself coming back here. But if there’s one thing I liked here, it’s the gyro meat. But really, I’m not the kind of person who goes out to a sit-down restaurant for shaved gyro meats. That’s usually food-on-the-go, for me, as I’d do the same with a Middle Eastern shawarma. That being said, when I go to Greek places, I EAT Greek, not SNACK Greek. Plates, entrees, and stuff are the thing for me. And to get an idea of what is good here, I figured I would try a sampler plate, and the Olympic sampler plate seemed to be the most comprehensive. And to with that, I picked lamb kabobs and moussaka. Well, when it came out, I was disappointed that it was kind of small for a sampler plate. Additionally, it was mostly gyro meat. Luckily, the gyro meat was the best part of the sampler platter. The lamb kabobs, Greek sausage(loukanico), and the roasted Greek-style potatoes were all okay. And the Greek eggplant casserole, moussaka, fell flat — there was very little béchamel sauce, and they even put tomato sauce on top of it — which is really unheard of in any Greek restaurant. It didn’t taste as good and it didn’t seem to be authentic at all. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think that they Italicized the dish. Thinking that they can save the lackluster meal with a dessert, I ordered the Greek phyllo-custard, the galactoboureko, and it also fell flat. While I appreciated that they have it in the menu(most authentic Greek places have them, but most Greek places are not authentic), it was poorly made — the custard itself was too pasty and had no flavor, and the phyllo dough had a burnt flavor, from being cooked too long. After all that, and seeing the bill, I can say that this place isn’t worth it. I even think the lower-rated(according to Unilocal) Stratos is much better than this place. NOTE: If you want a gyro, sure, by all means come here — even though there’s so many places out there that serves gyro sandwiches, or come for the flaming saganaki(Greek cheese lit on fire), which is what seems to make this place popular as I had saw this dish being served three times during my dinner. But that’s as far as I would go.

Flaming Cheese Saganaki is the answer to «what do you want for dinner» or lunch for that matter. Atmosphere, food, service and easy parking are all very good. When you take into consideration the price point for all of the above you get five stars! This is a refreshing change to the usual. Fun, different and somewhat quirky… but in a good way. The Olympic platter is a great way to sample the different items on the menu without feeling like you missed out on something. My wife and I stopped in on a Friday night and it was busy but not crowded. No wait to be seated and service was very attentive and pleasant.

Lamb kabob cooked exactly perfectly. Can’t tell you how many places in this world overcook the meat and make the animals cry. Gyro wrap was a smash hit. Perfect balance of meat, bread and toppings. Nice dollop of that delicious sauce. Reasonable pricing. Ultra attentive service. Warm folks. Friendly atmosphere. Felt like I was with family.

Cute little place, visually pleasing. The food is great, love the classic gyro. The flaming cheese is a must… Because it’s flaming cheese. While we were there the staff were very kind. Over all great place.

Not bad at all, food was very tasty. Only complaint is that the food is slightly overpriced for being a medium-scale restaurant.

I am absolutely amazed that this place has been open for a year and I JUST discovered it. I would be a well-established regular by now had I found it earlier. The hubster, his parents and I went there for dinner on a Friday night and right away, we knew we picked a good place. Nothing too ostentatious. the décor was representative the Greek roots and humble and practical. Our waitress was really nice and the menu was a one pager. It was a little hard to read since the lights were dim and the font on the smaller side. It was a quick fix with the flashlights from our phone. Of course, we had to get the saganaki(I mean, it’s the name of the place). It was salty and chewy, just as a good saganki should be. Between my in laws and I, we shared the vegetarian platter and it was plenty for the three of us. They loved the spinach pie and I loved the dolmas(clearly house made). The hubs got a sampler platter which was an assortment of yumminess(paraphrasing his description). Both sampler options are good choices if you just want to nibble on a bunch of things before decided what your favorite will be. One of my favorite parts of the evenings was meeting the owner. He was absolutely fabulous. He walked around, chatting with guests, checking in. clearing dishes, filling water. It really felt like we were at his home and being well taken care of. As I promised him on our way, I will be back so be ready!

Hooray! Would definitely call this little spot a hidden gem. It’s close to one of the offices where I work and is a great place to get some tasty Greek food(which is surprisingly hard to find in Dallas). I’ve only been in for lunches so I haven’t sampled some of the heavier items. But the gyros and salads(both chicken and gyro) are delish. The dolmas are hot, fresh, and meaty… only complaint I had was the avgolemono sauce that comes with it was a little thinner than it should be. Tastes great though. Looking forward to trying their signature saganaki(the flaming cheese) and the baklava cheesecake sometime when I have more people to share with :)

Finally decided to try Flaming Cheese Saganaki since it’s not too far from where I live. When I first arrived on a Saturday evening it wasn’t too busy but later it started to fill up. The big thing for me was to try the saganaki and the baklava cheesecake. For my entrée I had the gyro plate with rice and a side of spicy green beans. I would say that this place is a bit overpriced compared to other Greek restaurants I have visited. It has pretty good service and the food was just okay but the baklava cheesecake was really good. I’d say it’s a 7.5 out of 10.

Flaming Cheese Saganaki is a neighborhood gem! Super cute and very clean! Our waiter was extremely polite and cheerful, and the food was amazeballs. We started with the flaming cheese! The smell was heaven, tasted delicious and the pita was soft and warm. I got the sampler platter with gyro, warm pita, tzatziki, chicken kebab, sausage, potatoes and pastisio! It is not for the faint of heart — huge portions! I inhaled it. I’m not sure I chewed. It was amazing. The gyro was nice and chicken was moist. I wish the gyronhad been just a tidge thicker sliced, but the flavor was GREAT. The tzatziki was not overly cucumbery, the potatoes were sinful and the pastisio was a show stopper. Ultra comfort food. Loved it! Cleaned my plate. But still made room for baklava cheesecake. You heard me. Baklava. Cheesecake. Great place! I will definitely be back!

I frequent this little gem at least once a week. I am quite the foodie/chef and I simply dine for inspiration. I love to feel like a valued customer. Every time I visit, the waitress is always very warm and is quick to take care of Me. The atmosphere is beyond welcoming. I definitely recommend the gyro with extra tomatoes and extra taziki sauce. The fries that come with, or done to perfect. Nice and crispy and not greasy. Their lunch/dinner prices are affordable. Definitely try the hummus.. mmm. Tha know you Gaby for always going the extra mile: D

What a pleasant surprise this little mom and pop restaurant was! We came here last night with a few friends. My husband and I ordered an original gyro pita with fries. The sides are a la carte, but don’t worry, they don’t skimp on the sides. Our serving of fries was huge, as was the gyro. There was so much gyro meat that the pita was overflowing with goodness. My only complaint was that it need more Tzatziki sauce. With all the meat, it needed more sauce. While the meat was flavorful, it was cut extremely thin. I enjoyed the thinness of the lamb because it solidified the flavor. The meal was affordable, substantial and delicious. I couldn’t finish mine, so I have another meal to indulge in. We can’t wait to come back soon! Next time I will definitely get the flaming cheese and the baklava :) Mom and Pop for the win!
