We needed a custom sized bathroom vanity built. We reached out to several contractors. Goliath was one who showed up on time, asked lots of questions. Seemed to be eager to do the job. Wasn’t the cheapest but we felt based on the pictures of other jobs they had done, it would be good to choose them. First off, once we made the decision and they came back to take exact measurements, they went to the wrong house. Then called accusing me of not having someone there to meet them. When it was discovered they were at the wrong house, they didn’t apologize for the accusation. Second, at the measuring appointment, told my daughter that they needed to collect the deposit. Umm… what?!? First we’d heard. Naturally my daughter didn’t have the deposit ready because we hadn’t been told previously. When I reached out to them to ask about the deposit, I was told that yes, a deposit for half was required because they had to buy materials — fair enough. When I asked about giving a credit card over the phone, I was told they only take cash or checks. When I said I didn’t have either with me, and could bring a check to them the next day, I was told that they would be able to buy the supplies to start the job«once the funds were released». Again… what?!? My husband ended up driving across Dallas to their«office» which is really a warehouse and paying cash and getting a receipt for the cash. They were scheduled to deliver and install the cabinet on a Thursday. On Wednesday, I’m informed it will be Saturday before the cabinet is ready. Not wanting to rush them and receive a crappy quality cabinet, I agreed. Saturday rolls around and now they can’t deliver because its raining and they don’t have a covered trailer(what?!?) to deliver the cabinet and don’t want it to get rained on and ruined. Now I have to reschedule my granite contractor because of the last minute reschedule by Goliath. I don’t hear from them until the following Tuesday, when they text and announce they are ready to install that same day. I jump to it and rearrange my schedule and arrange for 430 appt with them. They show up at 530. The cabinet is damaged from the tie down straps, the paint is not quite dry, probably a result of painting it in the rain/muggy weather. One of the drawers is crooked and one of the doors is not flush against the facing. They seemed overly proud of the cabinet, when in fact I would have been embarrassed to deliver a subpar product. The plywood they used in the inside of the cabinet is cut against the grain, the joints are not solid and overall cabinetry is clearly not their forte. The cuts they made to fit the plumbing are jagged and were done in a hurry. When they left my master bathroom there was trash and debris all over the bathroom from their installation. They neither apologized for it, nor attempted to clean it up. Yet they had no shame asking me for water to drink because«it was so hot» installing the vanity. Interestingly, we had 3 other projects we were considering them for, that they bid on for us at the same time as the vanity. I told them when we gave them the vanity job that if they did good work, we would have them do the other jobs for us also. After the install of the subpar vanity, we haven’t heard from them again about our other projects. Think they knew what quality of work they did? I’m guessing so. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. This cabinet was supposed to be custom built and look custom built. Instead it looks homemade and like a first time attempt. We will NOT be using Goliath for our other projects, they are clearly too amateur for what we expected and for what they represented themselves as. Pictures attached.
