Hair By Kyle

FYI: KYLE is no longer in business in Dallas.
Had I written this review 2 months ago, I would have given 5 stars. I have been going to Kyle for styles and cuts for about a year and a half. I trusted no one else with my hair. his cuts and style are spot on, and he truly listened to his customers.
I ought to give 1 star but just can’t because of what I said above.
The reason I am giving such a low review?
I showed up for my 5PM standard 6-​week scheduled hair cut yesterday and found his room to be completely emptied out. Kyle is no longer in business in Dallas.
The wonderfully nice man across the hall informed me that for the last month he has had to explain to all of Kyle’s customers that Kyle unexpectedly just packed up and moved to Sante Fe. He informed no one of this and did not do his long-​time customers the courtesy of even a FB post, let alone text messages to give us a head’s up to find someone else.
I could go on, but I’m just devastated. There is more information, but it doesn’t need to go here as it is more personal than business-​related. The point is, he is NO LONGER IN BUSINESS IN DALLAS. And because of the way he treated me by not even giving me a head’s up and just let me show up to an appointment in an empty room… if he ever comes back to Dallas I can’t go back to him.

It’s located in this redone old house with a lot of personality. I felt so much more welcomed than at a traditional salon!
And Kyle is amazing! My hair was a wreck, so I just let him do what he thought was best, and now I feel and look great!
He also gave me great haircare advice.

I’ve been seeing Kyle for a few months now and he is awesome! I originally went to him based on his reviews and convenient location but now I would drive across town to have him cut my hair. Even if I am vague with my description, he knows what look I am going for and gives me a great haircut! Not to mention, he is always fun to talk to and knows a lot of great things to do and places to go in Dallas (since I am new here).
I would highly recommend Kyle!

Haircut scheduled for noon yesterday ¹¹⁄₂. I asked Kyle earlier in the week if he had time to get me in to include color. He moved me to the end of the day and stayed longer to give me a great cut and great highlights. He gave me exactly what I asked for and I look awesome, if I do say so myself!
I’ve been seeing Kyle for at least 5 years, probably closer to 7 or 8. He’s always been reasonably priced, and done a great job.

Kyle is the man, period. I’ve been going to Kyle since 2006 and decided to post my praises about him. He’s super talented at his craft and always has awesome music playing whilst my hairs are getting cut. He laughs at my jokes and he makes my head feel extra good when he massages it. He offers tips whenever I ask him for his advice. He explains to me the products he uses and why he uses them. He makes my hair feel so fresh and so clean, clean after every cut.
His salon is housed at Select Salon off Cedar Springs and Hood Street. His room is deliciously spacious and the temperature in his room feels nice all the time. Kyle always asks me if I want something to drink whenever I arrive — water, coffee, soda, you name it. I think Kyle is definitely one of the greats when it comes to getting your hairs did. If you’re looking for greatness, like I said earlier, Kyle is your man.

Like many of the other reviewers on here, I’ve been seeing Kyle for several years (7? 8? 9?) and personally, I have no idea what I’d do if he stopped cutting my hair. I’ve never had a bad experience with him and almost every time I see him I walk out knowing I couldn’t look better (well, at least until he gets his home liposuction kit to use on me).
I’ve recommended Kyle to several of my friends and each time I get calls telling me how great he is. This guy knows what he’s doing. He has seen me through longish hair, short hair, dyed hair, styled hair, flat-​ironed hair (although I take full responsibility for that disaster) and finally naturally grey hair. When I have a clear direction I want to go with my hair, he takes me there. When I have no idea what to do next, he helps me find my next look.
His demeanor is as fun as can be and I actually look forward to visiting him. He’s quick with a funny story and a smile that will brighten your day. And that scalp massage while getting shampooed? I dare you to find a better one in Dallas.
But in spite of my long winded review, my words can’t do him justice. Let my actions speak for me. I have seen him faithfully for many years and have no intention of straying.

Kyle is amazing, he has a keen eye for what will look good and flatter and individual and also keep them up to date with the trends. Uses the classic with a spin if you want or keeps it just that «Classic». A great conversationalist, listener, and witty with a great sense of humor. So never a dull moment. The best thing is that he is professional but makes you part of his family as well.

I’ve been going to Kyle for several years now. I have always left his chair a delighted customer. His styling skills and esthetics have never steered me in the wrong direction. If I wanted some red tips — he put them in… tastefully and artfully. If I wanted to try something different but didn’t quite know what I wanted he offered excellent suggestions. Most of the time, though, he has delivered high quality hair cuts and color consistently from appointment to appointment.
And his ‘chairside manner’ puts me at ease. From the moment I walk in I feel taken care of. Starting with his hug hello, then to the wine, coffee or water I’m offered and to our spirited conversations he makes me feel special and his attention is all on me. You’ve got to experience one of his shampoos. There is nothing like one of his scalp massages!
I highly recommend Kyle. If you’re looking for someone who provides excellent service, is highly skilled and who enjoys making you and your hair look its absolute best, he is your man. Give him a try. You’ll be glad you did.
