I always come here, even now that I’ve moved to a new neigborhood. I tried places closer to my new place, but no one is as good.

I needed two window cushions re-covered. I live close by and popped in one day to see if she would be willing to accommodate. Not only was she happy to do the job, but she let me have her 40% off coupon for Joann’s Fabric Store so I could go purchase the fabric and materials. The final product was phenomenal and her attention to detail is the result of a true professional(and the turnaround time was only 2 weeks). She also sewed a valence for me to fit above the window seat where my new cushions went. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

I had my wedding dress tailored here. Friendly service, and she made some really extensive alterations(I wanted a personalized dress with a lot of elements removed or modified.) She worked fast, with very reasonable prices, esp. considering the amount of work I wanted done.

I just moved here from Philadelphia and started going to Hong Kong Tailor for all of my alterations. I take everything from suits, blazers, bridesmaid dresses and jeans to her and she does an amazing job. The prices are very fair considering she does everything to a T. To top it off, her dry cleaning service is cheaper than the place we were originally taking our clothes. The women is super nice too :-)

I have only had good experiences with Hong Kong Tailors. The lady, who I assume owns it, is always sweet, smiling, and ready to accommodate me. It’s always an emergency alteration with me and she always accommodates me at a very fair price and the job is well done. I live in the neighborhood just across Garland Road from her shop and everyone in my neighborhood seems to take all of their alterations to her and to be satisfied as well…

To all my Lakewood Unilocalers: please drive the extra few miles to another tailor place(such as the one off mockingbird and greenville) instead of making a quick stop here. I was in the area a few weeks ago and needed to get a pair of jeans altered to wear the same evening. Because I am always doing things last minute I was already prepared to pay some extra money but definitely not ready for the experience I had. I walked in and a woman who was on her phone waved at me to come to her. I stood there for a good 5 minutes for her to finish her phone conversation about where she should go on vacation until she showed me a room where I could change my clothes. When I came out to get fitted she picked up a conversation with someone who walked in for over 10 minutes and offered to help them until they told her to help me first(duh!). She pricked me with a needle while fitting me and we had a conversation that went like this: Needle lady: «What are you?» Me: «I’m Laotian» Needle lady: «oh no! You look Mexican» Me: «oh yea I get that a lot« Needle lady: «Maybe you lose curvy you look Lao because Mexican girl more chubby» Me: «excuse me?! « Not only was she rude(this was not a private conversation, there were people waiting in front of us) but damn expensive! Here’s a breakdown of my receipt: Jeans(original hem): $ 16 +$ 4(same day) Cotton sun dress strap alteration: $ 7 Cotton long sun dress to be shortened: $ 12.95 What?! Most places I’ve been to charge 8 – 10 bucks ATTHEMOST for this type of service and they are far more faster. It took a whole week for my other two items to be ready, what a rip.
