We ordered delivery. I received the most terrible salmon ever. The salmon was not fresh. I’m not sure how long they’ve had this salmon laying in their fridge. I’m telling you, it tasted like, they warmed up leftover salmon from last night. Not as advertised, everything is cooked on the same day. It was so mushy. I could only muster two small bites. So for lunch, I had only the roasted vegetables to go with it. Never, ever, ever again.

Love this place! Been enjoying them for the last year or so and my favorite go to items are the fresh salads, the Southwest wrap and the sandwiches and sushi also great! Portions are generous and love the beer selection. So easy to order online and pick up! My only con is many Sunday’s I have wished they were open.

No, no, no, and no. I ordered a wrap, potato soup, and sushi. The wrap was as hard as a rock, and the soup cold. The sushi was tolerable but only slightly. This was a delivery order, and even though it was delivered quickly(45 minutes). It was super disappointing. Don’t order here. Don’t do it. There are so many other places that serve better quality than this.

Where has this place been all my life? I ordered dinner and drinks and delivery was not only pretty fast, but was friendly, and my food was still hot when it arrived! The only ‘bad’ thing with my order was there wasn’t enough salad dressing to cover my entire salad and it was missing bacon…, how do you have a wedge salad with no bacon! If it wasn’t for that, they would get a full 5 stars from me… I’ll definitely be ordering again?

I write reviews because I think it’s important people know something either good or bad about a business. To me, having a great product is important and In The Sack has a good product and business model so that’s why I gave the two stars. I enjoy the fact that I can grab a fresh meal and some wine or have it delivered. My review is based off an annoyance. I placed an order online. After placing the order, I realized it was too late so I called to have them refund my card. First of all, it shouldn’t have let me place an order if they weren’t accepting orders. But that’s here nor there. So when I called and spoke to Will(who is very nice) — he assured me the card would be refunded. A week later, still no refund on my card so I called back. I got Will again on the phone and he apologized and said the refund would be back on my card and was unsure why it didn’t go through before. However, I never got my refund. It never went through. I’ve been traveling since then and it’s just been more of an annoyance than anything. I don’t like to do business with establishments that can’t honor a simple refund. Overall the product is good, the staff is nice but my experience will take my business elsewhere.

All I can say is Wow, food was very good. Highly recommend the naked enchilada and street corn. Flavors were very good and delicious. We ordered the twice backed potatoes which were good but if you are looking for comfort food these won’t fill that craving. The filling is more like a hash brown casserole and contains onions. They tasted great but was looking more for the traditional version. Overall was very pleased with the food and will be ordering from there again. Seriously get the corn! Like right now. Do It.

This place is awesome! I live 5 miles away and not only did the delivery driver get my food to me in a timely fashion, I was able to track the driver all the way to my front door. Food was still hot. The quality of the food was surprisingly awesome! This was our first time ordering from this spot. I had the roasted pork with potatos and she has the chicken pasta. We also ordered sushi and the raspberry cheesecake. Yes for sure an awesome 5 stars for this place. And the price is reasonable. I wanted to give the driver and extra tip last night after the tip I had already included because she was there right at the given time of delivery.

On a lazy Saturday I decided to order In the Sack instead of cooking. I was called and told that the sandwich I had ordered was out of stock(???) and had to pick something else. I ended up having the turkey sandwich because how hard is it to screw up a turkey sandwich, right? Bleh. Tasted like a gas station sandwich. The bread texture was dense and tasteless and got in the way of the rest of the flavor going on. All I could taste was stale bread, it was as though the sandwich had been made a few days prior and just wasn’t fresh or something. I can’t really put my finger on it but basically the sandwich ended up going to my dog and I made pasta instead. I also had the tomato soup, which was okay. Not spectacular but was good. Delivery was quick and friendly, I might try them again but the turkey sandwich was a huge disappointment.

The concept of everything delivered is awesome, and so is the execution. I have eaten almost everything they have and have not been let down, they have a great selection for the size of the store as far as beer wine and liquor, and I have always gotten superb service.

Downtown delivery from this place is simply the very worst food we ever ordered in. Chicken, sweetcorn, stuffed potato was dry and sour tasting. Mozzarella was soggy and sour tasting. The whole $ 40 meal went in the trash can. Obviously the 14 reviews on this place are written by friends of the owner or staff. Don’t be fooled, you have other options. This place won’t be around long.

Great concept. They sell, delivery, and serve food, wine, beer, and liquor. Well, I’m not sure if they per say, serve any liquor but they do sell it. The owner is super nice; he was there when I visited for lunch. They’ve been open for about a year and the owner says everything is made fresh daily. The food is above average, fairly priced, somewhat inventive but nothing truly novel, but that’s the appeal. The buildout is spacious and they do have some cool wine racks and a great, but limited selection of wines. Two business points I’d suggest though. 1-making more use of the space, especially along the wall, to for instance, stock more liquor and wine. 2-even though the food is claimed to be made daily, some people, like myself, like to see dates and nutritional info and labels on them(Gluten free, vegetarian, lo-carb, calories, Ideal Protein recipe, etc.) The food movement is pushing toward healthy but a balance is health and delicious is always a win in my personal food guide book. Will def be interested in seeing a location in Austin soon!

Great in theory, but the array of household products are a bit random and unnecessary. Store was empty but the employee didn’t leave the counter(I was scanning through the foods for more than 5 min). I was obviously struggling carrying more than 2 containers in my hands. Even asked for a shopping basket and was just told no. Beyond the lack of service, the sushi and soup I purchased tasted day old. Not recommended

Last week I had the pleasure of discovering –and enjoying– In The Sack TWICE! I was studying and taking a lengthy online certification course through the ThxG weekend. So focused I didn’t want to stop to prepare meals; but, didn’t have a taste for the typical delivery of pizza or Asian. I did the logical thing and searched Unilocal for delivery options in my area and found… In The Sack! FRIDAY I ordered the Grilled Salmon with sides of Smoked Cheddar Twice Baked Potatoes and a Green Apple Sweet Potato Mash; and Chocolate Cake. The Salmon was nicely seasoned with a citrus glazed; potatoes and cake were good, tasty but, not extraordinary; the apple and sweet potato mash was exceptional! A delicious balance of flavors that I will definitely try to replicate for my winter holiday feast! Everything looked so good and I was so hungry that I forgot to take photos. BUT! I clearly enjoyed my meal because the next day… I ordered for Saturday AND Sunday! They are closed on Sun. And this time got some foodie photos. SATURDAY second order: Naan Green Chile Chicken Pizza; Thai Cobb; Et Tu Brutus Salad; sides of Street Style Corn and Roasted Veggies; finished with Plain Cheesecake. I’m pescetarian(fish/seafood) so I removed and reserved the chicken from the salad for my daughter’s lunch the next week(pizza was for her too :-) What a treat that was for her! The chicken chunks were HUGE and seasoned appropriate for each salad; i.e., the Asian salad chicken was flavored different from the Caesar like salad. She loved them both when she returned Sunday night from the holiday weekend; the chicken didn’t make it to her school lunch salad! I added the corn and roasted veggies to what was left of the salads(after I removed the chicken); they both were delicious and filling. All the portions were normal sized, not under-served or overly generous, appropriate for the very reasonable price. The food is freshly made and the menu varies based on what is available. I noticed that neither the Salmon nor the Cabernet Roast I notice that first time are on the current menu. Other reviews raved about the Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding; but, it was not in stock. Will keep checking on this because I really want to taste test and add to my list of DFW Bread Puddings: The Good, The Bad, The Best Did I mention that if you looking to enjoy a stronger beverage to your meal they also deliver wine, beer, and liquor(proof of age required). Bath and toiletries products; OTC meds; in addition to candles and glassware are also available! Downtown/Uptown hotels will be losing a bit of their biz soon; who needs overpriced room service +18% service charge when you can order from In The Sack with consistent and comparable timely delivery.

The quality of food has been great; it does taste fresh. I’ve always ordered delivery, and they’re always at my door within an hour. They also deliver liquor, which I love especially when I’m feeling super tired and lazy after a long work week. The delivery guys are great. Very friendly and don’t give off a negative vibe; like you’re ruining their day. Shout out to Andy!(And I’m sorry I forget the name of the other great employee!)

My first experience was great… the second experience was a dash underwhelming. Pros: –Friendly staff-everyone I spoke with was friendly and knowledgable. –Easy online ordering –Fast delivery– had my meal within 30 minutes of ordering on both occasions. Cons: –Limited menu — I tried to order online and it looked like several of their signature dishes were no longer available.(May be due to seasonal change?) but, disappointing nevertheless. –portion size/price — I have no problem paying a premium for convenience or healthful options, but I was a little put off when I received my $ 5 as asparagus side and it only had 6 pieces in it.

Pros: delivery was quick to downtown, twice baked potatoes were good. Bread pudding was decent but they don’t cook out the alcohol. Tastes like taking a rum shot. Cons: the flank steak was legitimately the worst steak I’d ever had. I couldn’t finish the first slice. Girlfriend spit her bite out. I expected them to ask how I wanted it cooked when I called, instead they ask if you want it warmed. It wasn’t warm when it got here, and it tasted like it had been cooked the previous day. The Thai Cobb salad was at least edible, but certainly nothing that made you look forward to the next bite. They were out of caviar, corn, and the cookies and milk, so I couldn’t try them. This place just sounded too good to be true, and it was. Expect warm leftovers. Not a chance in hades that I would eat here again

Love the convenience when you live downtown and can have delivery of the staples of good food and liquor. Tried the delivery and even though they said about 30 minutes it was upstairs at the door in 8 minutes. Give it a try — good food and all the basics are available, just a click away.

Haven’t had a thing so far I didn’t like and I’ve tried almost all of it. Having a good bottle of wine delivered(or carry out) with a filet, flank steak, or short rib is awesome and makes getting your food and good bottle of wine a one stop trip. But even for this carnivore, items like the Med-Veg wrap is fantastic. And when it comes to a little something sweet, the Guinness Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding is hard to beat.
