I was curious as to why there is so many negative comments about this place. Or why someone would order something that this joint isnt known for. Honestly the barbeque, and burgers exceeded my expectations. The burger was crafted by hand obviously with its oblong shape, and great flavor. The barbeque, oh my happy day, was beyond that of which my taste buds could comprehend. When prodding the workers further i was extremely pleased to know that onion rings, French fries, and yes my delectable burger were made in house on top of much more. This may be a little mom and pop shop, but it’s definitely worth more than a second glance. Oh, and furthermore i did inquire as to how they smoke their meat, and the answer was they have a huge pit located within the store itself.

I’m at the Joe’s now. I’m so impressed with my meal that I had to post a review right now. I haven’t been to a real car hop restaurant since I can remember.(Oh wait a minute, I forgot about Kellers. This place is much better than that although I do like Kellers) I’m 56 and I have fond memories of eating at the drive-in with my family as a kid. What a jewel. They make real hamburgers here. I tasted the patty alone to see what the quality of the meat was. That’s the same kind of beef I BUY at the grocery store! The patty is hand shaped. You can tell by the odd shape edges of the patty. I ordered the single patty burger and it was huge. It’s a thin patty but it’s loaded with the veggies and it a large bun. The ice tea is just like I like it. And what’s really cool is they have fresh hand dipped onion rings. I read that they have fresh cut fries. I can’t wait till my next visit.

Joes has recently changed the way they make their burgers and fries. Patties are made in house and the fries are cut to order. Yes your fries were whole potatoes just minutes prior. And they are so yummy.

I found this place by accident. I was on Carroll St. and decided to follow it out to see where it may take me. Burgers, beer and barbecue. Don’t mind if I do. I just had to stop. It looks like an abandoned Sonic, but, don’t let that dissuade you. I pulled into the lot and drove around the building looking for the pits. There weren’t any. Finally, I pulled into a bay and parked. I got out and attempted to enter the building. It was locked. Hello! Hello! Are you open? This man is hangry! You in there? There you are! I see you! Huh? Can you hear me? A young man(15ish) opens the door and asks if I need help. Of course I do. I need food. He explains that it’s outdoor service only. I can order at the menu in the bay, just like at any car hop. Stay in your vehicle or eat at the tables on the covered patio, or, do the drive through. It was a nice day, so I ate at the table. I ordered a corn dog, hot dog(mustard and onion), and, a hot link. Not all at the same time. I requested my wiener not be butterflied and that it be boiled, not fried. They met my order. Cool. The hot dog was just ok. Really cheap wiener. The bun was old and not steamed or toasted. As for the corn dog? I’ve had better. This was nothing more than«from the freezer, to the frier». Next, I ordered a hot link with mustard and onion. Since I was ordering a hot link I didn’t feel it was necessary to specify cooking preferences. It came out in sandwich form. The link had been butterflied into four sections, and, grilled. Next, they put it between two pieces of lightly toasted bread. What a major bore! The link was way dry as was the bread. Dry wienies and dry old bread are a turn off. After that, I had had enough. I noticed there was barbecue on the menu. Considering that I couldn’t see or smell any pits, and, the sad state of that hot link, I dared not try the que. The kid was nice, polite, and, friendly enough, but, there’s no desire to ever go back. Not a place I would recommend to you, but, if you’re in the area and you want cheap food, this would be worth it. Maybe on a beer belly?

I’ve been here a couple times now, I live in Arlington so its something I hit up when I am in the area. First time I had a burger, decent enough, everything was very fresh, fries were hot. Drink sizes leave something to be desired though. 2nd time(today) I got the chopped BBQ brisket sandwich with a side of beans. Again, the drink size was pretty puny(didn’t ask if they have refills) but the sandwich and beans were excellent! Generous portion of brisket, light on the sauce(which is a good thing) so the smoke flavor wasn’t covered up. Very soft bun too, so when you bit into the sandwich, instead of the brisket falling out, it basically sticks in the soft bun. Beans had a terrific flavor although the portion size is on the small size. I like the picnic benches out front, both times I’ve been the weather was really pleasant. Much rather eat on a picnic bench than in my car. Service was fast and friendly too. neighborhood is a bit run down but not to the point where it feels unsafe. If you are in the area, its worth checking out.

Ok I am glad I did not base my visit on the reviews because I wasw surprised on how good this burger was, not the best but a good burger. This is like an old school drive in, some compared it to a Sonic(face slap) because this was so much better than that chain. I would much rather support a small business«mom and pops» business than some chain. I ordered the single burger $ 3, fresh cut fries $ 2 and Chili cheese dog $ 2. First off the burger was greasy and had good flavor in the meat, the way a burger should be. It has fresh veggies and the bread was lightly toasted to prevent soggyness. Second, the fries are fresh cut which to me are already above the processed crap that the cahins put out. These though seemed a little cold and not freshly cooked but still were good. Third, chili cheese dog, now I had it with onions, cheese, and mustard. I was very impressed on how good it was the chili had good flavor and it was exactly how a good chili dog should taste.

This is a cozy little spot off the freeway that serves a nice rib sandwich. The owners are very friendly and the food is definitely solid.

Just a ghetto Sonic, really. But I can get down on some Sonic– cherry limeade, what?! Foot-long cheese coney, uh-huh! Jalapeño poppers, mmmm! Not here– just average, boring grub. It does have the cheap factor, though!

In a pretty shady neighborhood right off 30. Thought it might be a pleasant surprise but the cheeseburger was pretty bland. Might as well hit up a Jack in the Box or Whataburger. Has a Sonic’s drive up and park feel which might be cool but I just drove through.
