So I just managed to complete my first half-marathon last weekend, and even managed to beat my goal pace by a few seconds. Nice accomplishment, but considering I was running alongside another 11,000+ runners who completed the same race, it certainly wasn’t anything unusual. Until you consider that just three months ago, I couldn’t run at all. In fact, simply walking(and in some cases, merely sitting) was extremely painful due to a months-long battle with plantar fasciitis and other lower leg/foot issues. And not only was I sidelined, I was extremely bummed because I had originally planned to run the White Rock Half in early December, but had to miss it due to injury. Until I was introduced to Dr. Kara three months ago, I had tried everything — stretching, icing, heat, orthotics, sleeping with my foot in a special sock, sleeping with my foot in a boot, you name it. I had seen several podiatrists and doctors who had been marginally helpful at best. Dr. Kara deserves ALL of the credit for my recovery(and for completing the half marathon, for that matter) — through a combination of ART, Graston, and Prolotherapy, I am now about 85% pain-free(sometimes I feel no pain at all), and what pain I do have can be managed on my own with some stretching, rolling and heat. And most importantly, I am back to logging 25 – 30 miles per week running, and feel better than I have in at least a year. As another reviewer noted, I was a bit surprised when I met Dr. Kara due to her young age, but don’t let this cloud your judgment. She was able to accomplish what numerous other(much more«experienced») doctors were unable to do, much faster, and for a much more reasonable price(she was great at working through the insurance company to make sure everything was covered as much as possible). And I also learned enough from her that I’m now able to manage what little pain I do have on my own. If you’re having ANY joint, back, knee, foot or other issues, you need to give Dr. Kara a try. She’s definitely going to be my first stop should I experience any other injuries in the future.

Where to begin when talking about Dr. Dudowicz… The staff at the Lifestyle Management Clinic is unsurpassed. Professional, personal, and knowledgable is the foundation of Dr. Dudowiczs’ office. Feeling like Odysseus you«…come first of all to the Sirens, who are enchanters of all mankind and whoever comes their way…» mesmerized and sucked me back in to the level of service time and time again. Their gaze overtakes you — as I shell out the $ 25 co-pay time and time again. The receptionists with her warm smile helps even the most painful crooked bones seem to ease up. But that is simply a tease to a much larger slice of heaven — oh please help, I think they have a hold on me! Originally having scheduled a visit simply to get an adjustment — since I’m a walking wreck — I have found myself returned bi-weekly to become«normal». Well, as normal as someone like me can be. Personally, I am a human crash test dummy. Having tested a vast array of helmets to their breaking points, playing chicken with trees, and challenging IRONMAN to a strong man competition — my body has taken its toll. p. s. i lost. =’( Fortunate for me, the massage therapy has been a blessing. Able to relax while getting the tightest of knots undone, or being twisted and rolled into what are un-namable positions — I have seen drastic results in my flexibility and muscle pain. Thank you so much ladies for working your magic!!! But back to the Doc. She is so very passionate, sophisticated, and privy to the mechanics of the human bodys interconnectivity I wish I had been her very first patient when she got into the practice long ago. Dr. Dudowiczs’ young appearance should not be confused with inexperience, rather view her youth as the beginning of a lasting personal relationship for years to come — and one I intend to keep!
