I don’t even know where to start. My boyfriend and I came from Houston to see Kutski at this venue last night. This was honestly the worst club/bar I’ve ever been to. We got turned away at the door because my boyfriend was wearing a tank top. Apparently you need sleeves to get in. Meanwhile there were a TON of girls being let in wearing tank tops. We took an über from our hotel so it’s not like we could have driven anywhere to get a shirt. Luckily we met a couple of nice people who let him borrow a jacket. But all the staff members were incredibly rude. Every single one. Drinks were insanely overpriced, though that was the least of my concerns. I was dancing in the crowd(with my stamped hand) while holding my drink, and a bouncer pushed through the crowd and grabbed my hand because he didn’t think I was over 21. I’m almost 26. Bouncers were kicking guys out for taking off their jackets and revealing their tanks while half naked girls were dancing everywhere. That is incredibly unfair. I’ve never seen that before. The vibe was insanely tense. The venue was also very dirty. Most people I talked to last night had the same complaints and said they only go here because it’s really the only place in the area that plays edm. So I guess you can get away with treating people terribly, overpricing your drinks, and having a disgusting venue when people are forced to go there. We were going to go again tonight before realizing how awful this place was. Never again.

If you need to find the best EDM club in Dallas, this is it! The music is amazing and vibe is all good which makes you dance no matter if you dance or not. They always have some amazing DJ’s in there. Last month they had the famous Darude. The speakers are good and lond and do justice to all those DJ’s that come in here. I’ve seen many clubs which won’t have good speakers and spoils the music. They have 2 floors side by side — 1 for the main DJ, who will be accompanied with 3 – 4 other DJ’s who normally open up for the main DJ and also close after him and 2nd floor is the in house regular DJ who is equally amazing. The 2nd floor is mainly occupied with the local kids showing off their dance moves. The music from the main floor doesn’t interfere with the adjacent floor for local DJ. The sound is pretty well managed. The VIP section is on upper floor and gives a good view of the main dance floor. There is very limited seating which is almost nil compared to the size of the club. But you won’t need the seating as the music is so good that it makes the non dancers shake their leg too. Normally the type is crowd is very young between 18−23÷24 as this club does allow below 21. However you will do find many above those ages as well. On some days this club transforms to Church which is more goth/fetish/etc I guess. I haven’t been when that is on so can’t comment. Overall: great club, great music, good dance floors. Only drawback is the limited seating and not being very classy which is good in a way that you will find people who actually dance compared to people who just showoff in those classy clubs.

First time there, an über dropped us off here thinking it was somewhere else but we decided to give it a try before we judged it. The group of girls I was with was pretty well dressed and while we walked to the front, we saw young kids in booty jean shorts with cut up shirts and furry boots walking around. Lol when we got to the front, the bouncer treated us like we were little children and the woman taking the payments was extremely rude and dressed super sloppy. We didn’t pay and just got out of line and caught an über to downtown. Needless to say, this place just wasn’t our«thing.» Maybe if I was 16 trying to sneak out of my parents house, it would be cool.

This place gets quite a bit of awesome DJs. Ticket prices are very reasonable and the line outside goes by fairly quick. I don’t really know what the complaining is about, yeah its 18+ so you know what you are getting into. To avoid that particular crowd you can opt for VIP which is usually only $ 5 more, a great deal for a bit more breathing room. The lights are pretty good and the sound system is good as well.

I love this place they do a lot of things right. However the bald white dude(not gentleman) who works the front door is the most disrespectful person I have ever encountered in a social situation. He has no clue what customer service is. Night after night my friends and I pour into this place and the most stressful part of the night is getting our identification cards checked bc this guy always manages to find a way to insult someone in our group. I can name 6 staff members here the I absolutely love and I could compliment them for the way they treat their guests. The guy at the front though makes me want to shrivel up and die every time he looks at me.

+ Book good talent + Easy to get in, the line was short and security wasn’t difficult + Average priced drinks + Plenty of seating areas!!! + Clean bathrooms + FREE parking lot + There’s a guy selling hot dogs right outside Only negative — Crowd has a lot of younger kids(18+) Some tips: * Guys are required to wear shirts with sleeves on(t-shirt is fine, no muscle tees) * Arrive 11:30−12am, any earlier and it will be dead

We were in the mood to go dancing after dinner downtown, so headed over here after a quick Unilocal check for clubs in the vicinity. Arrived a bit early(between 11 – 11:30pm) on a Saturday night, but the place wasn’t completely dead. The DJ(Johnny something) was spinnin’ some good tunes. Well drinks were cheap enough — about $ 5/each. Music: Euro dance vibe, but not many people were actually dancing. There was a growing circle of youngins cheering around some breakdancers, but the rest of the people were seated. Bonus(for some people): nearly jailbait emo chicks dancing in their underwear. Bottom Line: Great for B-boys/b-girls and much younger crowd. As expected, Uptown is a likely a better bet if you have a horizontal ID.

Disclaimer: I’ve only come to Lizard Lounge for EDM events. For some God forsaken reason, this venue keeps booking exceptional talent that I look past the negatives, bite the bullet, and go here for the sake of raving. Lizard Lounge is infamous. They have this incredible streak of booking some awesome EDM artists consistently. When I see that the venue is Lizard Lounge on the event page, I roll my eyes, sigh and then purchase my tickets anyways. How else are you going to beat seeing Dada Life, Dash Berlin, and so on for around $ 25 a show? How? You can’t unless you decide to drive 4 hours to Houston to see EDM artists at Stereo Live. I prefer Stereo Live so much more than Lizard Lounge but I digress. The venue is. cramped. Smushed up against other people like sardines in a can cramped. Even at festivals and other venues it isn’t as crowded as it is at Lizard Lounge so prepare to get everyone else’s sweat on you. There’s plenty of pushing and shoving, and always that ONE ass hat that pummels through the crowd to make it to the front. The drinks are relatively tame in regards to pricing($ 6+ for wells) and the bartenders are usually pretty nice. Especially when your girlfriend has had too much to drink and you have to go back to the bar repeatedly pleading for water. Thank you dear bartenders for being really nice in those situations. They have a second room/section that is what I like to call the designated shuffling room. You won’t be able to hear the artist who’s at the venue playing in this room since they’re blasting other EDM but it sure is a fun place if you just want to shuffle your ass off without being shoved up against a wall. This section is also close to the bathroom so keep that in mind whenever you break the seal. Overall, I dislike Lizard Lounge but since they keep booking awesome artists I have no choice but to come here, suck it up and rave my butt off to make up for the cons. P. S. Warning! Guys can not wear tank tops. They must wear something with sleeves. Sometimes a bouncer just happens to have a box of t-shirts in his car for $ 20. I don’t. I hate this dress code rule.

Preface: This review is based upon my past experiences in attending EDM concerts at the Lizard Lounge’s main room. The headlining artist will be in the main room but there is also a separate smaller room for other djs. Pros: — Small venue so you’re able to get a real close-up of the artists — Pretty popular EDM artists come through. I can’t speak for other genres but big names like Dash Berlin, Adventure Club, and Flux Pavilion show up. — Ticket prices are reasonable if you’re able to get them right when they’re released(~$ 20). However, they can go up to ~$ 40-$ 50 for GA admission if you don’t buy early enough Cons: — Small venue so it gets CROWDED in here when a popular artist is headlining. Like can’t-move-and-I-might-lose-my-spot-if-I-go-to-the-bar-so-I-won’t-drink crowded. — Very… juvenile crowd. I get the feeling everyone is underage and sort of rude? Not sure if I just happen to be next to the wrong people but my experience has been filled with encounters of people cutting through crowds just to plant themselves right in front of me to block the view. There’s no room though so I guess this is to be expected. Bottom Line: Lizard Lounge is not my favorite venue but it’s certainly not the worst. The crowd issue doesn’t have me clamoring to come back frequently. However, an artist I like usually comes in every few months, so I’ll probably find myself back here within a few months’ time.

Oooooooh how I LOVE this place! Seriously! Granted my husband and I have been down with the whole«EDM» scene for just as long as some of these kids have been alive(Lol), I just love that fact that we can head downtown to catch a sick show! The crowd is a bit young. I feel like I have at least 10 years on most patrons, however, that doesn’t stop anyone from having an awesome time with each other!(If you’re the type that doesn’t like to be surrounded by a lot 18−23(?) year olds while partying/having a good time, then you may want to skip this place.) The venue is smaller than most, but the up close experience you get here definitely beats going to an arena type venue. Not to mention, paying 2xs more for tickets.(You can’t beat Lizard Lounge ticket prices!) I come here to get away from reality, listen to the music I love, and just have a good Ef’n time! I’ve been coming here for the past 4 – 5 years, and each time has been an awesome experience. I will definitely be back! In fact I was there 1⁄17. and I’ll be there 1⁄31 and 2÷20… and that’s only what I have scheduled in now ;) See you soon folks!

The bouncer is so rude! The place is small, so they don’t have the right to act like a snooty Vegas venue. I’m only coming here for the EDM.

Definitely a new experience for me. Mixed crowd, mostly goth, the majority of people are high on life(or psychedelics…). Regardless, I had a good time checking it out. Especially since it was a Sunday night. Only for openminded people though!

Came here to see cosmic gate. Doors opened at 9. It’s not worth buying the VIP seating. I was never upstairs. Maybe for a crowded show i’d probably go use the VIP. Otherwise, i liked that drinks were modestely priced and the atmostphere was lively and fun. It was quite an interesting crowd; varied from high schoolers to middle age people. I was more trepidatious walking outside. It didn’t seem safe in the parking lot area. It was mostly dark. At least it’s free i guess. Anyway, the performance and the venue is awesome. Loved the different rooms. Lots of space to dance around, lounge and enjoy drinks.

I came here just to see Morgan Page and it was AMAZING! I’ll never be able to have an experience like that again. The crowd was weird, but it was fun to people watch. We were dressed up, but looks like you can wear whatever you want in here. Sneakers, hoodies, jeans, flip flops. a Jesus costume lol

TIP: No tanks or jerseys, valet parking is only $ 5 First time at Lizard Lounge and I’m already liking the crowd much better than Levu. Venue: 4⁄5 –The venue reminds me of Webster Hall in NYC except much smaller, good air circulation and not as dirty –Floor is carpeted which actually made dancing/standing comfortable. Sound: 5⁄5 –Sound system was impressive in addition to the lasers. I’ll definitely be frequenting more often.
