The only good thing that I like from this place is the Farahon show. He is amazing!!! Food is not good and they only sell beer, not a good selection on alcohol.

Had 5 tacos on small corn tortillas, a lot of meat though. Pastor: meh, not really any flavor beside a goody smoky char. Lengua: juicy and tender, lacking flavor Barbacoa: thick and tender, melt in your mouth flavor Fajita: meh, dry, no flavor Carnitas: overcooked Red salsa: decent flavor, nice kick Green salsa: good with lime Big place, great music on juke box

Every Unilocaler has their method of grading each place… With that said, I cant give this place 3 stars for its location or its unattractive exterior façade, because what Taqueria supersedes these expectations? Granted it was hard to spot from the road, it gave me the impression that this place was small, but once i walked in, it was very much open and dare i say larger than at least 40% of taquerias in the DFW. We were greeted and allowed to sit where we’d like. Once we sat down, the waittress attended us very quickly. We order horchatas, which were delicious and approve my standards. I then ordered the fajita quesadilla platter, which came with beans and rice, and my gf ordered the shrimp enchiladas(red) platter. My quesadilla was simply amazing, it was like they read my mind and knew, give this guy a good amount of meat cause he loves to eat and he lifts weights on the regular, the cheese was delicious and it was enjoyable to eat. It wasn’t over greasy or anything which was a plus for me. The rice was very good and flavorful and i had no complaints on the beans. The amount of avocado given was enough to enjoy every bite with my quesadilla. My gf enjoyed her shrimp quesadillas, she let me snatch a bite(amazing gf) and it was soo good, and I know will definitely try that next time! If i had to just complain on one thing it would be… that they charge for a second round of chips… Yes the first round is complimentary but once your orders arrive, they retire the chips and if you ask for more they will tell you its .$ 1.50 for more… smh… i don’t agree on that business concept… but again it wasn’t a deal breaker for me… This place will quickly be my go to spot to eat mexican food when i’m at home… amazing authentic mexican food check… distance wise… close to me check! FYI — My review reflects coming in on a sunday afternoon around 4pm. calm, not too crazy, no shows… no drunk crowds… so given the factors the experience was great!

We stopped in yesterday to grab a quick bite to eat while we were waiting tor my bf’s tires to be put on at the tire shop across the street. Ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeño appetizer along with the asada, carnitas and pastor tacos. The restaurant was clean, service was quick, and the food was hot and delicious. Not the sort of place I would go out of my way to dine in at, but would definitely return to grab some grub to go.

Super tasty ceviche tostadas! Best I’ve ever had! Must also get their hearty cesina taco. All this was Togo and held up splendidly :)

I really wanted to love this place. It’s literally 2 minutes from my Job, so you can imagine the convenience of finding a new good place to eat. That being said, although I was disappointed with my first visit, this rating isn’t final. I’m willing to give it another try and try what seems to be their specialty, TACOS. The second thing that made me want to love this place, after my already stated convenience in location, was the underdog factor. I always root for the underdogs or hole in the wall establishments. You know, the kind of holes in the wall everyone always drives by without even noticing its presence. That’s exactly how I went into this. I drive by this place everyday. It’s so hidden, that the only way I was able to spot it was from the McDonalds drive through two parking lots away. The place looks so small from the outside, it made me wonder if I would feel claustrophobic inside. To my surprise, the place was pretty open. Not huge, but bigger than a chick fil’a. I went on a Wednesday at exactly 3 pm during my lunch break. The place was empty, so I assumed service was going to be quick. WRONG. They sat me down and gave me chips, menu, and my drink pretty quickly; However, once I figured out what I wanted to eat, there was nobody coming to take my order. It got to the point to where I was going to get up and ask them to take my order. When I looked around, I noticed my waitress was sitting at the front table with anther waitress just talking away. Hmmm. After staring her down, I think she got the memo that I was ready. This wasn’t the only time I had this problem. I never got a refill and nobody came back to check on me, being my first time I didn’t know regular paying procedures. However, I did know that my waitress picked her daughter up early from school because it was cold and she sent her wearing a dress so the poor girl got sick. I understand you’re human, you go through stuff, but I’m trying to go back to work in time for me to keep my Job. Now, on to the main course, the food. This is where it gets bad. I got excited after reading Unilocal reviews stating this was authentic Mexican that I did what I never do. I ordered enchiladas. I grew up eating Mexican food, as authentic as my Mexican born grandmother who till this day cooks my enchiladas. These weren’t anything close to those. Maybe the cheese? Actually no, not even. I could see the tortilla! It’s like they rolled up a cheese taco heated it up on the microwave, then unevenly splattered a red tomato, sour, sauce with weird spices… Not good spicy spices, but weird tasting ones. As I ate my enchiladas(I had to eat them because I needed something in my stomach for my 9 hour shift) I kept thinking, d*m#. Why didn’t I just stick to not ordering enchiladas… oh, and I tried the beans. They tasted like fish farts. But the rice andthe horchata were good… Bottom line, I will give them another chance and try their tacos. Also, to someone their enchiladas may not be so bad. But to someone who’s grown up on abuelitas enchiladas, these won’t do the Job. Sorry for the essay, I get carried away! Actually 2.5 stars :)

Very solid taqueria. I am only giving it 3 stars because it’s a hole in the wall in a not so good location with a mediocre interior, but food and service are good. If you are trying to impress friends from out of town or a date, this is probably not the place to bring them to, but if you are looking for some good Mexican(not Tex-Mex), at a fair price, then this is your place. The horchata is good as well. Aside from serving tacos, they have all of your standard Mexican dishes and tortas. You can tell everything is homemade and from scratch. The waitresses speak English, but it certainly helps if you can speak Spanish. ***Side note: This place serves TACOS. Not those things that other places sell that have too many ingredients and are served in an uncooked tortilla.

Omgoodness… its just sad I have to make this point. Especially to fellow raza. I am half Mexican but I have lived in Tx all my life and have eaten enough homemade authentic mexican food to know what is what. Dont try to fool a fellow mx with your watered down sorry guac. We know what real guac is like and it shouldnt be almost transparent with no flavor. We pointed this out to the waitress and she came back with the real stuff. Lol I felt so betrayed. Thats all I can say. If you stumble upon this place just walk the other direction. Service was rude and cold, rice and beans were dry and tasted old. They dont serve margaritas or mixed drinks just beer or soft drinks. oh yea and they play games with their own. That means if your not mx dont even go because who knows what they will try to serve you.

Best fajita tacos anywhere. The meat is evenly and finely chopped and cooked on a grill top to perfection. Everything is cooked fresh to order, not reheated. Most taco places serve greasy tacos and or greasy meat or very dry tough meat, however, they got it right at Los Altos. Most authentic mexican food that you can find. We come here every weekend and the food is pretty consistant! Delicious!

Aqua de frescas are tasty. Tortas are ok. service is pretty lack luster. had to go up to the kitchen and flag down a waitress to get a drink refill and our bill(we were there for about 45 minutes). They aren’t rude or anything, just neglectful. We had flagged down a different waitress who gave us the refills and bill and we gave her the tip(not the original waitress who was off chatting up some other table on the other side of the restaurant and ignoring us). Also, I worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years so I felt bad not tipping her but my gf insisted.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. The beef fajita tortas were outstanding. Tacos were fresh, chips were crispy and homemade and the green sauce was great. Definitely try this place if looking for great breakfast.

Had tacos al pastor & barbacoa tacos for lunch. Nice presentation. Have had better green cream sauce. Returned with mi esposa for another lunch. Excellent flautas. Beef enchiladas were not made correctly. They were really soft tacos slathered with a(bland) red chile sauce. The rancho beans had an interesting pedigree: They obviously started as beans & weenies, to which some stuff was added. This place is a lot bigger than it looks from the street. Seats close to 150 people. We got a «wall of sound» with our lunch: Two volume-on TVs tuned to different stations, a stereo system playing a song, and a jukebox playing another song. All at the same time!

Very nice place with a good shrimp torta. Nice place to eat before a show at New West Dallas.

Meh… We went at 5 in afternoon. Place was empty, service practically nonexistent. Fer ordered a pulpo tostada which he didn’t eat because it smelled off. Said his caldo de marisco was so so. Ma ordered sour cream enchiladas which were so so. My «specialty of the house» beef plate/stew was pretty yummy if not so filling after all. The guacamole was good! Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t expecting some gringo-ized mexican food experience. I loves me a tacqueria, this one was lacking.

Our search for the best taco in Dallas landed us here on Friday 5⁄18. We found this restaurant with the help of other reviews on Unilocal. We have driven past this restaurant hundreds of times without ever seeing it. From the outside it doesn’t look like there is much room so we thought we were going to have to order for take away. As soon as we opened the door we discovered there was a huge eating hall and plenty of seats from which to choose. They even a stage with a disco ball. After the chips and salsa we knew this was going to be a good meal. The salsa was homemade for sure and very authentic. The salsa was the right blend of spicy peppers and not overloaded with tomatoes. Sadly there were no margaritas but the beer turned out to be the better choice for the meal. My daughter chose Guava from the assortment of Mexican fruit drinks. My wife and son stuck with the Tacos al Carbon, but my more adventurous daughter and I sampled several of the tacos(carnitas, barbacoa, and al pastor). The meat was cooked to perfection accented with cilantro and onions. We dribbled on some green sauce which was very hot and is how we prefer it(it wasn’t as hot as Rusty’s but close). While the kids eyed the Mexican candies at the counter, my wife and I reflected on what a great meal this was and she said that this has moved up to her number 1 spot. We were glad we took the advice of fellow Unilocalers and sought out this great restaurant that is right in our own neighborhood. When asked how many stars they would give this restaurant the tallies were: daughter = 5, son = 3, mom = 5, and dad =5. Clearly our son was out of his head as these were clearly the best authentic tacos we have yet discovered.

Delicious! I had the 3-taco plate for dinner late on Saturday afternoon($ 5.99). I got three different meats(carnitas, pollo, and pastor), on corn tortillas(double for each), with cilantro and onions. The green salsa is very good. Granted, when it comes to tacos, I’m pretty easy to please, as long as they’re freshly made and not too greasy, and these fit the bill. Chips were served with red salsa and limes, and came out warm and not too salty. Oh, and the horchata(grande, $ 2.50) was wonderful, especially on a hot day. The rice and refried beans were fine, but nothing special(green salsa added to the flavor). Service was very good and attentive, which is what one would expect, since only 2 – 3 other tables were occupied at the time. I speak basic Spanish, so I got by fine when ordering, but they were ready to start speaking English, if need be, so it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s a big room and was extremely clean. All in all, a good meal and I’m looking forward to future visits.

I went to this spot on a Sunday night for Gaby’s Ilusions Travesty Show… which is… a drag show… and was AMAZING! I went mainly for the show, but since it’s help at this taqueria, I ate too! I had three beef tip tacos(amazing) with onion cilantro and red/green salsa 1.25 each The chips and salsa are great I ate SOMANY. the salsa was spicy and served warm We also got a bucket of 6 coronas for 15.00…it seemed to be the the trend in this place. I couldn’t get a shot of tequila, so we went to the bar next door and got one. I decided(after one more beer) to get some of the flan that was advertised on the table. It is the best flan that I have ever had in my entire life. I ate the entire thing by myself(and it was a hearty amount). This was the greatest night of my LIFE and I will go back for sure.

Ok, after writing a glowing review and having a really good experience, the second time was not so great so I am changing my rating. I took the wife to my «new find» for lunch. She got 3 soft tacos, two were good but the«fajita» meat is just nasty. My first time it tasted weird to me but I thought it was me or the lime. It is not me. It is not even beef from what we can tell. What it is, who knows, but it tastes just terrible. The other meats are juicy and tasty, including tongue. My gordita was ok but nothing special. We also got the shrimp cocktail and I can say that the shrimp were fresh, crisp, and plentiful, but the cocktail sauce lacked the punch that I was looking for. Overall, this place can deliver excellent tacos if you choose wisely, so I am not crossing it off my list altogether.

Tucked behind a Hispanic billiard-bar and enclosed in burglar bars, this taqueria is a clean, cheap, and authentic Mexican restaurant. The servers are(usually) friendly, and speak just enough English to get your order. The lunch fajita special(with soda and tax) costs a paltry $ 6.48. It’s a great amount of food, delicious and at about half the price you’d pay elsewhere in town. The salsa is top notch, and so are the enchiladas. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone who likes Mexican food.
