Blegh. Food was okay. Not the best. But after walking to the fountain drinks I wanted to gag. Flies everywhere… all over the siracha sauce, crushed red peppers and lemons. And they stored the food by the seating area. Not sure if that’s a health code violation but I know the flies and bugs are.

Terrible. Any of the 5 star reviews are either fakes or accidentally reviewing the wrong place. We had the beef broccoli and chicken broccoli and both were less than good. The sauce was just thickened broth. The meal was bland. The fired rice was burnt. The $ 8 lunch portion didn’t come with an egg roll, which was not worth purchasing separately. $ 20 lesson learned.

Bae and I love this place. They have the best chicken fried rice, pepper steak, and sesame chicken. We love their chicken on a stick and egg rolls. They always get our order right and delivery is awesome. We have ordered here for the past 9 months and are always happily full!

Writing this as I eat. Food isn’t that great. Wouldn’t bother ordering from here again. People are nice, portions are great and delivery was fast, but that’s about it.

I had Steamed chicken dumplings and fried noodles. The restaurant was empty and I still had to wait 20 min for the order. The dumplings were cold and the sauce way too salty. Young lady who took the order was pleasant. Okay food that took longer than expected.

I’ve eaten here a few times over the years but today had a less than stellar experience. I walked in around 2:00 in the afternoon, with one other table seated and already eating their food. There was no one else in the place other than that table, myself and the staff. I ordered a meal, and it took 23 minutes from time of order to time the food was received. This was a plate of sesame chicken — not sure if they were out of an ingredient and had to run to a grocery store to pick up or what, but that kind of wait with NO other patrons is unacceptable. There was precious little activity coming from the kitchen. This was the last time I’ll set foot in that place. Regarding the food itself, it’s Americanized Chinese food — no better or worse than the other 1,000 fast food Chinese places in the metroplex.

Not good. Don’t waste your time eating here for Chinese food. I ended up getting the orange chicken and the sauce was not great. Want a real inside on how clean the place is? Go check out the bathroom.

After struggling to find a decent Chinese delivery place in North Dallas for about a year, I stumbled upon Lover’s Egg Roll and have never looked back. We order several times a month and it’s consistently delicious. I usually try to order something new every time and have yet to be disappointed. My favorites: combination fried rice, fried dumplings, beef with garlic sauce and of course the egg drop soup. Make sure to ask for the crunchy chips when ordering it!

This place used to be better. We went there for lunches on our to go orders for work. Today and one week ago had to wait 30 minutes for our to go order. And there was a hair in one of the dishes ordered. We will not return to this place!

Went to the Mockingbird Lane location … this is not really a restaurant, but a walk-up self serve type place. The food is not cheap, and the quality is bland and poorly prepared. I ordered black bean beef and an egg roll. The egg roll was soggy and cold. The beef was full of connective tissue and was combined with green pepper, onions and an entire jalapeño roughly chopped into large chunks. The dish was so hot from the jalapeño that I could hardly eat it … in fact I gave up. My wife ordered flat noodles and chicken. The noodles were cold and rubbery. I guess that I will sill have to travel all the way up to Richardson to First Chinese Bar-B-Que for my Chinese food fix. Don’t waste your time or money going to any of the Lover’s Egg Roll stores.

FOODPOISONING! N-A-S-T-Y! Won’t return! I’m not a picky eater, and I LOVE Chinese food… but this place found a way to ruin a simple Beef and Broccoli dish. The beef was full of gristle, the rice was cold and the flavoring was just ODD! If u like plastic forks, Styrofoam plates & odd flavored food(as in nasty), this is the place for u. ANDJUSTTOTOPITOFF, THEYGAVEMEFOODPOISONING! YUCK.

not very authentic Chinese food, more like Panda express and those types of chinese places where they drown the food in sauce.

*Re-review* I used to love this place, it seems like the owner changed. Either way I called in to order a delivery for 3 people — we order all the time. He told me that they can’t deliver because the delivery guy is not working. He didn’t even suggest to pick it up or take the order the phone and just hung up on me. I called back saying I want to order and pick it up and hung up on me again. I called the 3rd time and the guy said«I thought you didn’t want to order because we don’t have a delivery guy» . The experience was so bad that I will NEVER order from them again. *Previous Review* Ordered flat noodles and it was good, it was bit chewy but it wasn’t too bad. Wonton soup was awesome with loads of flavors and with stuff dumplings. They delievered for us and it was quick

I know I already gave them five stars, but what the heck. They are now officially one of my favorite Chinese restaurants and I am consistently comparing other Chinese places to Lover’s Egg Roll. All their curry dishes are hands-down the best I’ve ever had. I find myself randomly craving them like a dog craving bacon bits. I haven’t been disappointed in anything besides service at first, but I can easily dismiss it once I escape into the world of their delicious food. EATIT! EATITNOW!!!

Very average place. I had the shrimp with lobster sauce and it was nothing spectacular. I had the fried dumplings for the appetizer and they were good. The place looked kinda shabby but it i guess it serves it’s purpose. They do deliver so that is a plus

This place is not All that bad … I have eaten here 3 – 4 times and it’s decent. Not awesome but not bad. It’s close to my home and for it’s price I don’t think it’s bad at all.

Do NOT go to Lovers Egg Roll! The bathroom, when I walked in, was already full of water from the bad bathroom sink. When I left the restroom, the employee started shouting at me for creating the water mess. It was not my fault, but the bad sinks!

This is the WORST Chinese food I have EVER had… bar none! Even my 7-year-old son’s sweet and sour chicken was so chewy and tough that he refused to eat it and he never refuses to eat anything. I had the Teriyaki beef and chicken combo and I would have been better off buying a bag of Teriyaki beef jerky. My friend ordered pan-fried noodles and got pan burned noodles. All four of us were very unhappy with this meal and it was so bad, we had to throw it away and make something else for dinner. That was the worst $ 50 I have ever spent! We will never eat here again.

After picking up my weekly breakfasts at Diet Gourmet, I decided to stop at Lover’s Egg Roll for some take out. I ordered Hunan Chicken and Crab Rangoons. Still, no one can make Hunan Chicken like China Ko . But this was, by far the best I have had in the area. I still don’t understand why none of the Chinese places in DFW can correctly make a sauce. Have they never heard of arrowroot, tapioca, cornstarch or even a roux for God’s sake? Sauces are supposed to coat the meats and vegetables. Not just provide a swimming pool for them to swim in. Lover’s Egg Roll is getting 4 stars from me, because, while their sauce was still too thin, it did«coat a spoon». but was unable to hold a clear line. This will be my go-to place for Take Out… because frankly, I’m sick and tired of flavored oil sauces with no body to them. The crab rangons were over cooked and tough, but the inside was nice and flavorful. This would be enough to bring this review down to 3 stars, but I will wait and give them a 2nd chance before I knock them down.

This location popped up close to my office recently so I stopped at Lover’s egg roll for lunch today. You order at the counter and they bring your order to your table. I got sesame chicken with fried rice and some chicken dumplings and a drink. YAY for having coke zero in the fountain. My food arrived quickly and the chicken was flavorful and crispy and had broccoli, carrots and water chestnuts in it. The rice was kind of boring, but I added duck and soy sauce to it and it helped. The dumplings were alright, but I had way too much food so next time I’ll pass on the dumplings probably. Random Fact: The bathroom here is freaking huge. I’m going to mark this as 4 stars for now, but if I go back and it sucks I’ll adjust :)
