I had to be at the courthouse across the street at 8:30 a.m. and had an hour to kill. I figured I could grab breakfast here since I hadn’t eaten anything. I ordered an egg white delight McMuffin and oatmeal. I also asked for a cup of water. The cashier told me I’d have to pay $ 1.08 for it. I was a bit taken aback by this but I paid it without saying anything. He charged it and said«Thank you for understanding.» Ok… sure whatever. Then I went over to the drink fountains and saw that there were no water dispensers. I went back in line, asked the cashier where the water was, and he said«oh there’s only one back here» and went to fill it. I sat down and tried to put the straw in and it was filled to the top with ice. I couldn’t even put my straw in it, which meant I barely had any water. At least they got my order right but charging me over a dollar for less than 3 ounces of water is ridiculous. It was also cold outside so the ice in the cup wasn’t going to melt anytime soon. Wouldn’t come back here ever.

Usually I wouldn’t mind taking my kids to McDonald’s to eat and play on the playground because it’s kid friendly, but not at this location. I used to have to take a bus home at the bus stop near this location and it was a dump. The staff was rude, it would take forever for your order to come out and you would constantly get approached by people asking for money and them shoving their sob stories down your throat to try to get you to give them money. And then when you would go outside, it was even more of a hoodlum factory, full of drunks, people getting fucked up on drugs, and men trying to talk women into going home with them and is more dangerous to go to at night

I can see this Micky D’s with a lower review. It’s in a bad but good location. It’s on one of the main one-way streets through downtown Dallas, but the community college and businesses. But it’s also a block from the Greyhound bus station where a lot of suspect characters hangout. I’ve never been inside, no how… no way. I’ve always gone through the drive through. They are quick and my order has always been correct whether it’s breakfast or lunch. Advise: Lock your doors.

I was driving home after work and decided to stop for a burger. I was waiting in line and there were some sauces sitting out by the side of the counter. I looked through them to see if there was anything that would be good on fries and Fitzgerald came up and yelled at me to put them down or he would get me arrested for stealing. I was shocked and he is a big guy so I felt very intimidated. I was like are you kidding and he said, yeah, try me. And walked away. He should be fired. Worst experience ever. I’m attaching picture.

Everything is so right about this place. Sure, the food is made from questionable ingredients and taste pretty mediocre, but the customer service is always stellar and the people watching is second to none. One of the things I’ve noticed over the many years is that when people get out of jail, they have a mighty hankering for Mickey D’s. You can always tell who just got out by looking down at that net laundry bag holding all of their belongings. The bag may be blue. The bag may be red. Heck, the bag may even be white, but you can bet your bottom dollar that it’s a Bob Barker original. Big ups to everyone who knows why that’s funny. But you won’t just catch our newly freed fellow citizens, but you can meet some really amazing people who are battling homelessness, people just stopping through going somewhere random on a Greyhound(more power to them, I can’t do it), or random students stopping from El Centro. The people watching here is plain profound if you get down to it. Yeah, you may have just consumed fries that will turn into plastic after 10 minutes and never spoil, but the conversations and people watching is invaluable. For those who may be wondering, because Unilocal asked, they DONOT take reservations, nor do they have waiter service. I also wouldn’t suggest parking your bike unless you plan on getting it stolen. Last tip, I wouldn’t use the bathroom. I just wouldn’t. For real… I wouldn’t and never have. EVER.

This place is an absolute dump. I assume it’s owned by the same franchisee that operates the other Downtown McD’s and the one on Fitzhugh &75. The food is consistent with other McDonalds but the dining room is filthy and charging $ 1.08 for a cup of tap water(with meal purchase) is ridiculous. The owner of this restaurant should have some damn pride and keep up his business. This is the first McDonalds in Dallas that many people will visit due to proximity with hotels and the convention center.

This glowing neon spaceship of grade D comfort food has firmly owned it’s survival badge since it’s inception in the 1970’s through the blighted years of post 80’s downtown Dallas. Today it has been remodeled in a retro style that feels cleaner and still glows a happy Americana escape radiance. Large illuminated yellow arches still flank each side of the building as it did in it’s original construction. 24 hour dining room and it’s downtown proximity to nightlife and public transit centers guarantee that it’s always bustling with an array of the urban melting pot from pretty hoochie club girls and secretary’s to construction workers and layover bus travelers. My hamburger, fries and coke zero meal, clocking in under 500 calories and at $ 3.44 was a comforting flashback to a childhood lunch outing. The retro refit which is understated seems enjoyed and respected by the urban masses, even the grungier clientele tries to keep things tidy. 24 hour Drive thru and dining room

For fast food, they really do a good job. The food is good(for fast food) and they’re very efficient. It’s near a homeless shelter, but there’s always security to keep them from bothering you.

Updated 5−10−14. WHYOHWHY do I keep torturing myself? I am sitting here at work a little hungry ONLY because I stuck by my principles again and didn’t cave in to their weird ways over at Mickey D’s. I went through the drive-thru and again this time came face-to-speaker with the«won’t change fries for yogurt» issue. She said that they couldn’t do it, per the manager. I said that I had recently done it for at least the 10th time… do you think she went to ask the manager? Nope. I told her to forget the whole order and just give me three half and half sweet teas(since I promised co-workers that I would bring them). She entered it onto the computer screen, which showed me the correct number of drinks and the half/half part. I paid the $ 3.25(saving at least $ 7 additional dollars) and took the drinks to work. What do you think we discovered at work? Go ahead, guess… I’ll wait… Ummmm Hummmm… NOSUGARINTHETEAATALL !! Man, I wish Chick-fil-a would build a restaurant in Downtown Dallas…

It’s a McDonald’s in a not so friendly area, can’t order anything from here without someone asking me for some change. But whateves that’s the price you pay for having cravings for some fries and big macs and being hungover.

Why bother Unilocal’ing about a McDonalds, right? Well this Micky D’s has won the award for the most cracked out Big Mac house! From the posh upstate suburbs to the ghettos, McDonalds sure has it down, no matter what kind of enviroment you’re in you’ll get the same food quality. My choice was a first for me, a Mc Wrap! Not bad at all. Let me explain the scene you’ll enter when you stroll into McDonalds on Commerce in Downtown Dallas. First you’ll see the ever most presence of onsite security. TIP: Don’t look at the homeless guy(s) in the eyes, that’s an automatic hit up for a dollar or a double cheeseburger. Also from previous reviews beware if you’re going to try to pull a fast one over the sneeky tow truck guys, they’ll get’cha if you’re not actually at Mc D’s. While«dining» I took it upon myself to randomly shout/swear, stick french fries in my ears, and ketchup covered pickles on my face just to ensure they thought I was one of them, and didn’t get bothered. People watching here is a must! You’ll probably run into Pimp Upgradde, two D’s for a Double Dose of pimpin’. He likes his lime green suits, and excessive jewelry. Then there’s the group of Soldja Boy rappers all talking to eachother on speaker phone through their Blackberrys. Big Mama is always ready to give a beat down too while waiting in line. Do you care to biggie size that?!? :)

Anyone who has been familiar with downtown Dallas long enough remembers the red-roofed white monstrosity that used to be the McDonald’s that was build in the 1970’s. Trying to order food without generally fearing for the safety of your life was impossible as the place was infested with some most unsavory characters. In 2001, the lot the building sat on was demolished completely and build anew from the slab up in a retro 1950’s design. Dallas landscapes and 50’s musical greats were hand painted on the walls, and an old school jukebox played great oldies music. It was safe to eat at McDonald’s again. A security guard is posted on premise at all times, and I feel safe going in to eat anytime day or night. In keeping with the urban lifestyle, there is a walk-up window in addition to the drive-thru that are are both open 24 hours. The food? It’s McDonald’s. Still, I cannot recall an order that I have had to send back for any reason, which is more than I can say about most other McDonald’s locations. The fries are always hot, and my custom orders are always fulfilled. This location does what McDonald’s does and does it well, 24 hours a day. Whether you visit the divey bars like City Tavern and Ten or the bottle service bars like Dolce and Plush, you can rest assured you can count on satisfying your late night food cravings after closing time at this downtown McDonald’s.
